- Echo cs-2511t with 1/4 pitch panther bar and panther chain comparing the before and after a muffler mod. First part of vid, saw is completely stock except for panther bar and chain and 1/4 pitch drive sprocket. Second part keeps everything the same except for a muffler mod, not even a carb tuning change.
I kind of hoped it would cut the time in half but it’s still pretty decent. I’m thinking I’ll have to mod my exhaust
Nice vid saw sounds great. Try keeping the rpm up a little higher peak power in these things I think is around 9000
I saw a 17sec cut, versus a 10.9sec cut... These saws respond VERY well to muffler work, and the 1/4 pitch, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that the significance isn't as high as that (IE that it's operator-error, you're cutting better w/ the modded version because you want it to do better -- please don't take that as an insult, everyone is susceptible to this icluding myself I have had to re-do many tests after finding I influenced/cheated my own results, for my own data, w/o even realizing it!)
But yeah that's still very impressive, I finished my muffler but haven't done timing advancement yet, not gonna do the 1/4 conversion until I can find a full kit for $100 or less, not spending >$150-200 on a climbsaw b&c setup lol!!!
This saw makes me wish I needed another top handle
Ive had t.h cs3000 since the 90s an it still gets after smaller wood
What all did you do to the muffler? Love this little saw.
difficult to explain, could show better with pics.
basically, partly bypassed the baffles by drilling holes and welded on a tube to direct exhaust in a more downward direction.
Did you re adjust carb?
@@FiremedicSRT not in this video but have afterwards..needed an adjustment real bad
if the same log would still be around i would see how it compares with a tuned carb and a new panther chain..
I was gonna say you might want to adjust carb after muffler mod but just saw your comment
