I'm against the nail polish and makeup for my girls. I tell them they have to wait till they get older, but I do get them the nail polish stickers for their nails
@@jamesk10turbo47 damn right, guys at work used to give me hell about all that but it happened and i loved every minute i spent with her doing it because it kept a smile on her face.
I don’t mind the hair styling and clips... lol mainly because my hairs short but I don’t let her paint my nails or do makeup, lol that’s what her nails and face is for
I’m probably never going to be tuning a Terminator X 5.0 but just in case I get the “Is there a doctor in the house?” moment I’ll watch and try and learn something. 😁
KEVIN! Can you screen share next time for those of us who want to see the values of what your tuning! Would love to be able to actually see what you are doing!
Electrical and tuning are the fears I have with building a fuel injected vehicle. I would love to see more and more on this. The way you explain things I seem to comprehend them better than reading or better than some others I found explaining it. I know so much is experiance that takes time. It's overwhelming. Appreciate the small tutorials you have done thus far. Keep it up
Familiarize yourself with PLC Logic controls systems. Almost all PC based programming systems Holley, Fueltech, Allen Bradley (industrial/mfg). To simplify they all work on the principal of Inputs, Outputs, and Control. Learning this will not teach you how to tune a timing map, but it will give you a greater understanding of how computerized control system work. O and if your carbs stubblin on tip in i cannot replace an accelerator pump ona carb over the phone.....but i can fix a tip in with a couple keystrokes from wherever. Dont have fear, Fuel injection allows anybody from anywhere give you a hand.
Things have come sooooo far in the last few years. There's not much to be worried about with these systems. They do a good job at not letting you hurt the engine. Jump into it, you won't regret it.
Also there are systems like the Sniper that are self learning, you get the economy and simplicity of EFI, with some power gains too in the right set up, but you don’t need to get into the computer at all if you don’t want to. Combine that with a solid state ignition system and any old car can be switched over. There are pre made plug in harnesses available for common swaps and vehicles. All the plugs are labelled or uniquely pinned so you can’t screw up plugging them in.
I just wanna suggest when you do videos like this maybe try to do a screen share feature and overlay with a face cam if you want. Great content Kevin, keep up the hard work man🤙
top tip for sharing your computer screen is to download a free program called 'OBS' and it will record your laptop screen through the computer instead of the camera
The Fox Body and nerd in me are delighted this morning hehe Though I prefer pre 1985 cuz the front lights look better IMHO I had a 1983 5.0 GLX 4 spd with some engine goodies that myself and previous owner and boss did the wrench time on .
Kevin, you should put a little plastic down on the towel and then put the laptop on the plastic. Youre smothering the computers fans by sitting it directly on cloth like that. Thanks for all the great content as always!
I am not currently building anything but I am always wanting to learn things. I learn a tip or a trick from every video. Thanks Kevin for posting this!
I’m not sure how it’s done, but I’ve seen other RUclipsrs (Eric at South Main Auto) connect their computers or scan tools directly into the video. It helps us see the screen much better than trying to look at the screen through the camera. Just a tip, especially if you do more tuning videos. Keep up the great work!
@KSR Performance & Fabrication If you're wanting to share your computer screen so that we can see what is going on, you may try try a program called OBS/Open Broadcaster Software. A lot of people use it for streaming to twitch but it works well to just record video and save it to the computer.
@@The50Baker I don't know how it works I assumed sometimes he forgets to click the monetize button. But I could be wrong that's why when I see I, I post it and then wait a couple minutes to refresh the video.
Just a thought, because I love seeing the 'sauce' and this is most definitely the sauce of tuning, might try using OBS to capture the screen and loop in your GoPro to speak to. It can do live screen captures off software running on the computer while doing a Picture In Picture of the GoPro feed. Would enable you to get a higher res version of the screen and still let you focus the camera on you, but out of the way while you run the computer. So cool to see this, would love to see more!!
Hey Kevin, a screen recording with your audio over lapped would drastically help you get what your saying more clearly. OBS Studio works great. Love you and your personality hope this helps.
I feel I need to do this on my Ranger with Holley HP, it's very doggy when I tap the gas but once its past a certain point its super peppy. Still working bugs out if the truck but always learning. Thanks for the video Kev
Good hustle Kevin. Another fine KSR production. I appreciate you showing the small details/tools in the PLC like "Static timing check". Similarly we use a secondary timing light hardwired in ona momentary pushbutton on PM hourly walkthroughs in critical timing applications. Not sure howa secondary system could work for yoll. No telling how many wasted hours were spent tuning a machine that we later come to realize never started from the "Home/Zero" position. It bites us all lol. Love the vids
This is good info to bank. Been looking at putting a terminator x on my foxbody coupe. Right now it’s on the stock ecu with a piggyback chip. (Moates Quarterhorse) I’ve spent hours and hours reading and messing with it. It’s archaic at best compared to the new engine management technologies. The hard part for me is shelling out the $$$ for it. Especially when other financial priorities keep popping up. Love the videos Kevin! It’s always an educational experience! 👍🏻
Morning Kevin! Would love to see you do a tutorial on the Holley Sniper Stealth. Got one on my new build that has self learned, “ok”, but would benefit from some tweaking I believe. Thanks for the great videos!
Good timing on this video KSR Kevin, I've been wanting to use Holley IAC on the Bikes I tune. Even though Idle Spark only helps a bit I hate having to hold the throttle for high-idle on cold starts and warm ups. Love ALL of your videos and it feels good knowing my self taught thoughts and ideas about EFI tuning (in general) are in line with what you talk about in your video(s). Things like I learned to set the Start Fuel a little above what each setup wants at idle (plus ramped up at cooler CTS) and I have always been a firm believer in doing "complete tunes" on everything, even if it's a dry-block drag race only bike that get's pushed up to staging lanes and back to the pits after the runs😎
I learn so much stuff when I watch your videos. Just love it. Wish there was a way to see what is on the computer screen. Maybe it would be Better watching on a big tv and not my phone. Lol great stuff Kevin.
Very different in regards to what is being tuned. But it is pretty cool to see the same kind of approach when you are tuning a car compared to when I tune/overclock a computer! Small changes for small gains is better than big changes causing issues. Great video!
