The issue with prioritizing loans that I have seen working as a financial management consultant over the years is that the client wants to keep his house at all costs due to emotions and he let's the high interest loans such as personal, unsecured or credit card loans to pile up over the years. The emotions override the financial iq of the brain. Whenever I recommend my client to sell his house and shift to smaller house or a rented house or a house owned by his parents and then clear off the loan and then improve their financial position they resent the idea and many times don't agree and leave.
Same happens when of we see the house is clear then we may ask the owner to go for a LAP to pay off credit card and personal loan they want to own their house free and clear. They don't understand that by taking a LAP they will be able to reduce the total outflow for repayment of loans.

Informative one. One suggestion, once any loan is settled, let's say credit card outstanding is 50K and it is settled for 20K. Banks mark 30K as written off amount which hampers credit score. After some time let's say after 3-4 years finances get smooth, one can pay back that 30K amount and can clear credit score. Best part is no interest is charged for that 30K written-off amount.

1 thing to keep in mind while thinking of taking loan with less interest rate.
If you have already spend 3,4,5 years paying emi in the old loan, then you should make the calculation for interest. It may happen that both loans gets at the same interest or even lesser even if the new one is cheaper.
Because the banks charges more interest in starting. So if you have completed upto 5 years, you already have passed the toughest period. Probably won't need to change the bank.
*Considering secured loans. Mainly home loan.

Prioritising loan is correct but it's difficult when you are the only person earning in the family of five.

    Now one more example.
There are many properties in the market which can be sold way less if you pay amount in cash. Take a personal loan pay the price to the seller and then take mortgage loan on that house.( Which is called Loan against property ). LAP is around 7-8% ( approx 1 % higer than regular home loan ).
Now what is the problem in that. If you think of not taking home loan or so called loans you have to pay more price of that plot/ home.
    Think differently

A very good informative video. Sir, I have a question... Can I take moratorium on personal loans for say 24 months? Does it impact my credit score, if I am willing to pay all extra interest post 2 years, considering I will have all my other loans be closed in 24 months, it will be easier to then restart 3-4 loans that I am thinking to get moratorium on. Thank you.

Very well summed up! I learnt a lot and much faster here than what I got from the time I spent on reading ''Broke Millenial'', which ultimately I stopped reading.

Tbh, I never comment on any RUclips as such. However, I am extremely distressed due to such factors but this video calmed me a lot. My thoughts were getting extremely negative. Indeed, the situations have not become better but my mental state has. Thank you so much @ankurwarikoo sir 😊😍

I'd like to add a point over here in Health Insurance, please have Health Insurance which insures physical diseases / death and mental diseases both.
Because we went through the same situation where we bought the insurance from the NBFC which insured death of the applicant and co-applicants of loan. Here, the co-applicant went through a mental disease like anxiety and the monthly cost was around 2 lakhs which we were not able to afford.
So it was kind of useless for us to have Health Insurance.

Last option: Hold all EMIs (stop paying). After 6 months, try to get loan from 3rd party ..with this try to do settlement, especially for credit cards.

@warikoo Hi you and your suggestions are god's word to us. I was in a credit card loan trap which I had settled in a less amount they called and gave me an opportunity to do the foreclosure. But now my credit score is too less. How can I increase it again to take future home loans. Can you make an video on that. Thank you. Love you work. You are amazing.
