I was really starting to think that David is just playing his bad English but the sentence "Do you still have the tablets infront of your umbrella" just kills me as a German. The word-to-word translation is "Hast du noch die Tabletten auf dem Schirm?" which means "Do you still have the medication in mind?". This is a truly "not the yellow from the egg"-moment and I love this!
For the most part, his English is good enough that I could have full conversations with him and know exactly what he was saying. At times he did have to stop and search for the right word, or ask if I knew what it was in German, but not a lot. But every now and then, these situations would happen with a question like this where it was just SO wild that I couldn't help but laugh. It reminds me of something they told me English speakers often mess up while ordering in German at fast food places when they accidentally say "Can I become cheeseburger". Hahaha
The become/bekommen mixup is actually quite interesting from the linguistic point of view. Man when I got into EC, the Algorithm got me into you at the same time. It’s like 2 universes colliding for me. Like a Marvel/Dc crossover or a successful Metallica/GnR tour
I was at the Denver show and that energy was INSANE!! Like top of the list of best concerts ever! All 3 bands, crowd, energy, everything! Fantastic job managing that!!
I´m from Germany and I actually was on vacation in the US around the time you guys were touring. I was actually in LA while they played there. Sadly everything was sold out but I would've loved to see them again.
As someone who's from Denver and has basically only ever seen concerts here, a lot of bands will comment on how great/nuts our crowds are here - I've always been skeptical and figured most bands say that to every crowd in every city. It's nice to hear that we do indeed bring the hype.
You and the boys literally made my year. The show was incredible, really wish there were meet and greet opportunities, but that's okay. I'm glad you had the time of your life, and I hope that you get to have the same experience next time. :)
Great to hear all of this. I´d like to know if you tried speaking german with the band/the crew to improve your skills, or the other way around like did they tried speaking german with you ?
My German has gotten good enough to this point where I could answer questions or ask things, but definitely not conversational. My brain isn't working that fast yet. Haha. BUT, I could sit in a room with them and listen to them speak in German and pick up enough that I could usually piece together what they were talking about.
@@TankTheTechI mean... considering their dialect and Kev making up words or whole sentences up without any sense to them.... that deserves some major respect.
@@TheHighPhobia I think the "Ruhrpott" dialect is still one of the easier ones to understand. I think the only real problems are some phrases which make not sense in traditional "high" german. Well or just simply "Wir sprechen alles ausser Hochdeutsch!".

I love your relationship with them and am happy that you got to be their tour manager! I bet you made some amazing lifetime memories.
In Germany at th Hamburg gigs there are 12 bodybuilding style secus. They have a lot to do. Last time there was a guy who surved 6 times. At the last time he came we front row gals had the urge to let him fall down. But we were kind, lol. Shout out to my female friends from the St. Pauli rugby team! You are the best company at front row! You make sure the smaller girls at front row have a great gig amd can breath! Never without you!
Even at the first US show in portland, I clearly remember this one guy that crowd surfed maybe 2 dozen times. Like, I think that's all he was doing, surf up, go back, surf up, and so on.
@@TankTheTechin Toronto it was always the same 4-5 people on repeat... i don't get it 😅 and the venue was small so it didn't take them long to come back 😂 the security worked fuckin hard that night!
Thank you Tank. I had never listened to Electric Callboy but gave them a shot and wow, they go hard. Different to what I usually listen to but I dig it.
It's always the beautiful thing when you discover new music that you instantly love! Electric Callboy happened to me last April and since then they are my favourite band in the world right now
I've lived all over the country and I'll say that Denver has some of the wildest shows. Not sure what's up with the energy here, but I've never been to a bad/quiet show in Denver.
I really wish that I could have see Electric Callboy when they toured in the United States. I live in Texas and they completely skipped the state of Texas. It was a sad day when I realized that they wouldn’t be coming to Texas. I’m glad that you had a blast.
🤘🏻😁💭 My cousin Timmy is a retired bus driver for bands. He drove for probably 25 years or so. And just like what you're doing, talking about your experience, I loved hearing Timmy's stories lol. I'm so jealous.. You have the best job ever!!
Great to hear about the German work ethic! I'm in manufacturing these days and when machinery was built from there they were friendly, polite, and went about their business. I have to admit when I was working shows there were some wtf moments, but not out loud. Nice to see how much you care Tank!
I’m so happy my old friend in middle school showed me these guys. This was sometime around 2012, idk it was so many years ago. I’m proud to have been here listening to the guys over all these years seeing their success.
Tank, I am so happy for you that you could make that experience and that it was so much fun for you. I wish I could meet you one day. You seem to be very chill and kind. Maybe one day you can be again tourmanager for EC. 🎉😂
Stoked to hear about how well the tour went! I had a ticket for the original one that got cancelled, and was super sad to hear that there were no rescheduled dates for Texas, but hopefully I can come out for the next one! Sounds like this was the experience of a lifetime to say the least!
I'll never not call it Virgania and Sacaramento ever again! P.s. i will probably never meet them in person, but i'm equally happy you spent the time with them and make beautiful friendships. And luckily, this is technology age, so you can see them through video calls whenever you want ❤
I know it's a little late with this comment, but thanks for introducing me to Electric Call Boy. They are so much fun and I can imagine how great a live show is. They remind me of a band that would have been happily in the Wax Trax stable in the ancient times of yore. Hope you get to tour with them again and bring them to Indianapolis.
I need to thank you for putting these guys on my radar! Holy crap, I'm in love with em. New to the party, but I'm firmly planted and cant wait to see whats next. Thanks again man!
This is _such_ a great video. I love all the stories, but one thing jumps out at me. If it was really Excedrin, I hope someone told David to be careful with the dosage. If you take too much acetaminophen, or take it with something else that has acetaminophen in it without realizing, or if you combine it with alcohol, it can do a lot of damage to your liver. I mean, it's safe. There's no way it should be a prescription medication. But for a headache after a night of drinking, absolutely do not take Excedrin. Regular aspirin is better in that case, and don't take more acetaminophen than it says to on the label. If he still has that bottle, PLEASE tell him to be nice to his liver. I'm assuming the EC boys all drink, and anyone who drinks potentially not knowing that worries me.
I was crowd surfing like 12 times at the danforth in Toronto and it was the hottest show I've ever been to. My patch pants were soaked in sweat. I brought and extra change of clothes
The stage the played on at Blue Ridge, the stage was up a slight hill I couldn't imagine trying to crowd surf up a hill 👀 it was so cool to see them live.
I was at the denver show and was given water a lot. Between nearly every song they passed out water and if you asked they give you some. It was awesome
as a German guy, I would literal translate "auf dem Schirm" as "on the Screen". But I kind of know why he said umbrella. A "Schirm" is mostly something that covers / shields / protects something or Someone. Regenschirm = Umbrella → covers you from Rain (DE: Regen) Sonnenschirm = Parasol → shields the sun (DE: Sonne) Fallschirm = Parachute → protects you from damage caused by falling (DE: fallen, Noun: Fall) Lampenschirm = Lampshade → covers the Lamp (DE plural: Lampen) and shields the light Bildschirm - Screen → In case of the Bildschirm (Screen), the "Schirm" refers to the surface on which the image appears. This surface serves as a protective device for the image, shielding it from outside influences such as dust, dirt, or damage. It also creates a boundary between the image and the viewer. Germans often abbreviate "Regenschirm" to "Schirm" in cases were it's obvious. They also do this with "Bildschirm". If Bildschirm (Screen) = Schirm & Regenschirm (Umbrella) = Schirm, the mix-up is funny but explainable :-)

Fun fact or pro Tipp from me as a dad: we used a hairdryer to get our little daughter to sleep. It’s the constant monotone noise which let her relax and fall asleep. Same works with a vacuum cleaner.
I just love a 100% positive feel good video every once in a while. As much as all the discussions about venues, tours, merch, bands and other "inside stuff" that me a random concert goer and fan have not clue about is why I watch this channel to begin with, some pure unequivocal love is always welcome :D

One of the best ones I've ever seen (with Hanabie in NYC) Also I find it very funny that you now talk in metric more than imperial ! :D
I really enjoy this channel and listening to some of your content even though I’m not on metal head, I’m definitely more of a country music type of guy that will listen to other forms of music because like you have said multiple times, music is subjective and I know what I like and I know what type of music I don’t like I do like Those videos that pull back the curtain just a little bit on the music industry. I find that very interesting.
I love seeing your name in their live video credits…I’m so happy that you were able to work with them and that it was an amazing experience for you all.
Here in Denver we always get crazy crowd surfing shows. Another band that played at the Mission Ballroom last year told us during the security meeting that they've only had 1 crowd surfer on their last show. At the end of the night we were told we had over 200 lol. Said band is about to play again here this weekend.
Hey Tank! I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Belasco venue. It was awesome for you to come out to see the little girl when she asked for you. What did you think of the venue?
Funny you should mention a thermostat. I work in commercial AC. Venues that have concerts often do not run the AC. Why? Tends to ruin effects like stage fog or smoke. Sometimes artists will not want the AC. When the Forum in LA was refurbished the first show afterwards was the Eagles. Don Henley demanded that the AC was off or he wouldn't perform.

Very nice, thank you Tank.
I could listen to you for hours as you talk about this beautiful tour. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
I'm looking forward to parts 3, 4 and 5 😉😁🤘
Was at the Denver show and it was insane, i was 2 rows from the barricade and was having to keep a eye on security for when crowd surfers were coming. Also is great to see myself in the videos.
I love david and his drumming.
@@Crycane Yeah, I guess I was refering more to the phrases than the dialect itself.
"Was biste am schauen?" instead of "Was schaust du?" and such things.
Hope that if they come back to your again and you get the chance to manage them y’all can come to Houston! Really cool to hear how you bonded with the guys that have kids. Being a dad I know how it feels to be away for extended periods of time and FaceTime doesn’t always help cure the missing them.
We went off here in Denver. Funnest show I've ever been to.
Just heard Electric Callboy on Octane (XM radio)Friday and fell I love. (Kind mad I didn’t know about them sooner) I spent this whole weekend watching videos and interviews and am absolutely in love with this band. They seem like amazing people!
Yeah, I remember seeing a ton of repeat surfers at a lot of these shows. Haha
@@TankTheTech They probably didn't have a ticket for standing room ;-)
I was at Monsters of Oz last weekend. Drove there from Kansas City. I was absolutely mind blown at the energy Denver brought for Parkway Drive.
I really wish that I could have see Electric Callboy when they toured in the United States. I live in Texas and they completely skipped the state of Texas. It was a sad day when I realized that they wouldn’t be coming to Texas. I’m glad that you had a blast.
🤘🏻😁💭
My cousin Timmy is a retired bus driver for bands.
Saw the show in Montreal. It was terrific. Thanks to you and the band for a great night. Hope everything went ok for you guys too.
Electric Callboy is the most nonsensical fun you can have in music. Amazing. So Happy for you Tank.
Hi Tank, I would love to see a video about what all a tour manager does. Also, are there unspoken rules or superstitions about touring?
There are definitely unspoken rules and some superstitions, but they can also differ from tour to tour.
My tiny little wife want's to extend a thank you for being able to hear this band. I told her to go check them out. It's right up her alley. Nice.
David is such a freaking great guy.
And I love that somehow, his english is more broken than my german. 😂
Regenschirm = Umbrella → covers you from Rain (DE: Regen)
Sonnenschirm = Parasol → shields the sun (DE: Sonne)
Fallschirm = Parachute → protects you from damage caused by falling (DE: fallen, Noun: Fall)
Lampenschirm = Lampshade → covers the Lamp (DE plural: Lampen) and shields the light
Bildschirm - Screen → In case of the Bildschirm (Screen), the "Schirm" refers to the surface on which the image appears.
Your videos are great ! I tour with a friends band , most people don't have a clue what it's like . Absolute craziness sometimes and a lot of hard work .
I'm so happy I was at the Denver show! It was awesome!
I almost feel special having been at the Blue Ridge show lol. Traveled there mainly for electric callboy and was glad to at least see them so thank you all for sticking it out and making it happen. I live near Cincy so with EC being announced for Sonic Temple I’m hoping there is a spring headline run though I will have to travel for it. Festivals are cool but I want the full EC experience
Denver was awesome! Glad you gave it a shout out! Was a party!
The Philadelphia show was a blast! I spent most of the night in the pit and everyone was just so happy to be there
So nice to hear you've had a good time!
And damn, you look recovered 😅
Tour stories are my favorite of your content 😮
I wish I had come to see you guys in Toronto!!! I’m so happy to see you get to share such an amazing experience with such a unique band!! You’re such an important part of the online music scene, thank you so much!!!
Thank you so mutch for takeing care of our Boys and sharing that experiance with us. If I had a Band and we woud be touring throu the US, I would wnat you as tour manager.
You are the best. Stay as you are.
Greetings form Germany!
I'm so glad this tour went so well. So nice meeting you
I went yesterday at an EC show at Musilac in France, is it strange to say that i hoped to see you near the stage? 😆
It was so fun btw!!!
Was in the Denver crowd, THIS IS WHY I LOVE THE SCENE HERE.
Also in the Blue Ridge crowd, good, but not the same level.
I Am so happy for you Tank :D
i’m also totally a hairdryer lover. Its just so calming and warm.
Really enjoyed this video dude 🤘
I'm so glad it went brilliantly and much fun was had from the sounds ,they definitely picked the right guy for the job and it shows from your reactions and there interaction with you , congratulations on the tour to you, electric and all involved 🤘🤘🤘
I was front row at the denver show! It was awesome! Had such a great time
Fun fact or pro Tipp from me as a dad: we used a hairdryer to get our little daughter to sleep. It’s the constant monotone noise which let her relax and fall asleep. Same works with a vacuum cleaner.
We used to put Ingrid in her little sleeper in our kitchen and turn the air vent above the stove on. Hahaha
I’ve personally used a fan in my window for years and years and years now
@@TankTheTech fantastic! Same same but different.
I am enjoying your vids. It reminds me of when I was working at a 400 person room. Really brings back a lot of memories.
Seeing Sevendust for show 52 this month. Those guys are so incredibly awesome
Tank, it Sounds like you had a lot of fun touring with electric callboy.
I love the fanboy moment you had at the first soundcheck tho lol.
Great seeing and hearing you on my local rock station in Tucson talking to Beef Vegan. Great interview!!!
I just love a 100% positive feel good video every once in a while. As much as all the discussions about venues, tours, merch, bands and other "inside stuff" that me a random concert goer and fan have not clue about is why I watch this channel to begin with, some pure unequivocal love is always welcome :D
Was at the Denver show. Yeah there was like 2 crowd surfers per song. Was nuts.
Haha the story of Ingrid calling Kevin "Spaceman" instantly reminds me of that spaceman-daycare-moshpit😂❤
Im gonna be seeing them in May I wanted to go last year but was bit out of my price range. Can't wait
Yeah I saw you walking in the back of the stage at some point in Montreal ! Too bad, I did not got the opportunity to meet for a couple of minutes ! Maybe next time :) But EC was a hell of a show ! One of the best ones I've ever seen (with Hanabie in NYC) Also I find it very funny that you now talk in metric more than imperial ! :D
Good point about the Danforth Music Hall. The gig was really awesome, one of the best I've ever seen, but the venue was way too hot unfortunately :/
I really enjoy this channel and listening to some of your content even though I’m not on metal head, I’m definitely more of a country music type of guy that will listen to other forms of music because like you have said multiple times, music is subjective and I know what I like and I know what type of music I don’t like
I do like Those videos that pull back the curtain just a little bit on the music industry. I find that very interesting.
Can confirm about the Denver show, I was there and it was a blast.
I love seeing your name in their live video credits…I’m so happy that you were able to work with them and that it was an amazing experience for you all.
So happy you had a great time with them! Kinda bummed I didn't get to meet you though. And yeah Danforth Music Hall got sweaaaatyyy af 😂
In a perfect world, ill see you and ELC here soon in Vegas. Cheers!
Colorado native here yes us Coloradans are absolutely insane sometimes some bands that I've seen live have said Denver is their favorite city
Here in Denver we always get crazy crowd surfing shows. Another band that played at the Mission Ballroom last year told us during the security meeting that they've only had 1 crowd surfer on their last show. At the end of the night we were told we had over 200 lol. Said band is about to play again here this weekend.
Im so pissed i missed EC in Phoenix. Hopefully they come back soon!
Denver was such a good show! Glad to hear we could be crazy enough for you! 🤘
Such awesome insides! Thanks Tank, for sharing that!!! 🥰
My shadow of intent hat was sacrificed in the pit at the Denver show lol, was nuts.
