  • Does the Strain family really need a second autopsy on Riley Strain? Forensic expert Joseph Scott Morgan thinks it's a good idea. Morgan says he’s troubled by word that Strain’s paints were not on his body when it was discovered in the Cumberland River nearly two weeks after he went missing. He shares more with Jesse Webber on “Dan Abrams Live.”

I narrowly escaped a carjacking out in the Greenhills area yesterday. And believe though I escaped another vehicle was stolen in the same garage by the people who went after me initially. I called the police station that covers that precinct. Let’s just say, I have little hop that any follow up or additional security will occur. Nashville has a crime problem that is out of control. According to my understanding from listening to many channels regarding Rileys disappearance. Riley was not troublesome in the bar... He was put out as it was the bars policy to put out a very intoxicated person. Now rumors have it that he was making trouble... Someone is contradicting their story. This story is tragic and I feel that Riley should not have been put out the bar alone in that condition someone should have been responsible and suggest a safe way to get him back to his hotel. His friends should have been helpful knowing that they are all not from Nashville and the place was known to be unsafe... Very sad though that a good time Charlie was more important than their friends life and well being.... Meaning they chose to continue to party whilst Riley walked to his death.

In 2007ish, my best friend went to get a drink at the bar and got kicked out. I had no idea. I looked for her all over, assumed she got sick and went home. I was right. But I could have been entirely wrong. This doesn't mean I did anything wrong. Or the bar. My friend over drank. My friend lost control. My friend became a liability for the bar. It's sad that Riley died, but it reminds us to teach our kids that drinking comes with a set of responsibilities - for self. As far as I have heard, no one force fed him drinks. This was a tragic accident, but we can all take this story back to our kids and show them how important it is to behave with care when drinking.

I’ve fell in a small creek with cowgirl boots on and they filled with water fast and I couldn’t keep them on. He was also in the water for 2 weeks and traveled 8 miles in that current. His pants also appeared fairly loose fitting. I can see how his pants could have eventually came off. The dry drowning isn’t unheard of but certainly not common. Any one of those facts on their own isn’t that unbelievable but all three of those circumstances together does raise concerns. It certainly deserves a deeper look. I can see how his family would not be satisfied and would want more answers. They deserve a deeper investigation for sure. I just don’t know that we will ever know what exactly happened

I saw a news blurb that said a homeless man was wearing his shirt with vomit on it.
So... they're saying now that he was only missing his jeans and boots. Only thing he had with him was shirt and watch. Has anyone ever tried to get totally wet pants off a body? I would think it would be next to impossible to do. So he was found with a watch and shirt on. No phone?
Kicked out of a bar where he was with friends. He was causing issues? What kind of issues? What was he saying?
Found dead in the river 8 miles down... no water in his lungs. No evidence of foul play.
Accident? Who has lost their pants in an accident? And they're nearly impossible to remove wet.
If you watch the raw video, he didn't run into a pole, he slipped and fell. Didn't hit the pole at all.
Remember, this guy is not small. He's well over 6' tall as I recall.
Dry drowning "refers to an acute lung injury caused by water aspiration that would develop over minutes to hours after exposure and could progress to respiratory failure". "When water irritates the airways, laryngospasm (a spasm of the vocal cords that prevents water and air from getting to the lungs) can occur". This is actually something I know a bit about. I have laryngospasms due to anxiety issues. I have lost consciousness before because of it. But I always start back breathing with no assistance. And I have always been told that is the case. So... something doesn't sound exactly right with this and having no water in his lungs. Not saying that they are wrong... just my experience is different.
If a single individual had one of these weird circumstances, I could easily believe. But so many odd things with one person makes it mostly unbelievable to me. I can usually explain the unusual things that happen to people. I'm not usually a doubter. But I am this time.
They're still waiting on toxicology reports to come back. I think there will be something in that.

The reason we can offer infant swimming lessons is because we do have an instinct not to drown. You can toss an infant into a pool and they default to holding their breath. The body sometimes defaults back to those animalistic instincts while drowning. And 1/5-1/3 of recorded drownings are "dry drownings" just like this one. It's not uncommon, it's not weird, it's human nature. If the news media wanted be honest, they'd ask more about dry drownings. Every single coroner they've invited knows this isn't a strange occurrence. It's very sad this happened. But it's not uncommon.
Maybe he wanted to go for a swim. I'm not joking. When I was in high school, guys I knew got drunk and jumped off a cliff to swim. One teen died that night. They'd all stripped down to their boxers and some had their shirts on. It was incredibly sad, but entirely accidental.

Bless Riley’s sweet soul. Bless his family. May they find comfort and peace and healing.
Riley Strain’s case is unusual, yes. That Nashville PD is closing this case is maddening! Something happened to this sweet kid! It seems unreal that he got drunk, left the bar, no one called him an Uber to take him safely to the hotel, he was left to walk back to the hotel in a place his wasn’t familiar with, so he ended up by the river, fell in, dry drowned, the swift water current pulled his boots and jeans off, and he was found 8 miles away by a barge wearing the same shirt, his boxers, socks and his Apple Watch.
Does that seem to make sense? We watched all the videos. When he fell, if he didn’t hit his head, then why was he holding his head afterwards? Could he have hit his head hard enough to cause problems? A concussion? A hematoma? Something that should have been looked at by a doctor? Something that could have caused problems awhile later? Why was he running? Why didn’t someone check on him? Why didn’t he call for help, at least directions to the hotel? On the videos, you can see he was confused, turning around, wondering which way to go? Curious that the homeless encampment packed up and left. Who did Riley see on the river walk? He was certainly vulnerable! Someone knows what happened to Riley. They need to come forward.
A second autopsy is a great idea, but what will they do differently from what was done before? Will they take X-rays to see whether he had any bruising inside or in his brain? Even better, do a full MRI, CAT Scan, whatever it takes! See if there are bruises that may no longer be present since he was in the water for 14 days? 14 days is only correct if he drowned the same night. And what have they ordered for Toxicology? Please check for GHB.
I’m praying that his family will get every smidgen of information they can about what happened to Riley!
    ❤Justice for Riley ❤

When someone drowns, they sink. When the torso fills with gas, the body will surface, the limbs will drag along, and clothes can snag and get ripped off. Dry drowning is a very strong possibility. The fact that his watch and phone stopped pinging at the same time. His wallet would have fallen out easily in the water.
It's such a sad death for a young man with such a future. I doubt a 2nd autopsy will find anything different. Homeless people are easy to blame, but they would have took everything he had, not just his pants n boots.

Who did he get into with in the bar? Was he showing signs of anger towards anyone in particular in the bar? Unless he was trying to jog his high down , why was he jogging before approaching the police officer? His frat brother said on the,911 call that something picked up on his phone near the sheriff's office, any surveillance of him in that area? How close is the sheriff's office from the river? The officer did a great job at being curtious but it did raise any suspicion that he was jogging up to the scene of an apparent break in? Why was he doing the jogging even before approaching the cop? Did anyone from the group of people he passed remember him and his state of mind when they encountered him?

When you have to jump through more twists & turns & bizarre/rare loopholes and occurances to land on "natural" cause (accident) AND simultaneously purposefully ignor (blow off) occum's razor ... to how something at least "appears" on the surface ... it will ALWAYS raise eyebrows to those with integrity and honesty.
Not knowing the (death) location (date/time a presumption; albeit strong) ... is also a bit of an issue. Already a presumption of how he "arrived" to the water, if he would have survived an alleged/presumed fall and or had any chance of rolling into or reaching "water" on his own accord.
Why was the very delayed search around the homeless camp?
LE already knew; had enough reason, evidence, probable cause to know, there were 9:52pm & 9:55pm footages of Riley (somewhat "okay" by all appearances) and a phone plus watch that went 'dark' at ~ 9:58pm. Wouldn't the search start THERE ... where ever there is?
What area (terrain) is 3 minutes or less away from the bridge?
(If nothing ... was the phone or watch turned off, wet, destroyed/lost; accidentally dropped into water)?
Why are people concentrating on the ~ 9:53pm area just before the bridge ... because "heard/seen" by people in homeless camps under the bridge?! Sure, something additional or previously MAY have happened and everything is important ... *BUT* ... it's a *KNOWN* ... (allegedly) ... that *BOTH* Riley & His Phone exited on the opposite side of the bridge underpass ... NO distress noted (unless something is happening or about to happen to his phone. Yet, another unknown).
[Which is a minor problem ... exact date/time of death could be off.]
Doubtful anyone (absolutely only) believes in 3 minutes ... he was ambushed for phone or wallet, knocked out, AND undressed; disposed of in under 3 minutes. (One too many steps unless someone seriously also wanted/needed clothes.) Is there a possibility boots/jeans came off naturally consciously or unconsciously? Either or. (Both somewhat difficult or rare.) But, that's still a presumption of date/time of death and or a presumption phone wasn't broken/destroyed/damp/wet/manually powered off.
Attempting to locate a *"potential"* ~ 9:58pm location wouldn't have been a bad idea. IN CASE THAT WAS A MAJOR AREA OF CONCERN. (But, certainly of more interest than the ~9:53pm location. 100%) 9:58pm SEEMS THE NATURAL PLACE TO START the investigation. (After deciding if cc incident was separate. Potentially Unrelated. Bar cameras, friends, cashiers available to answer.)
But, for reasons unknown that was never done. Instead it "ended" at 9:58pm. (What?) And, assumption after assumption to reach natural cause. Sometimes guesses are lucky ... might be .... natural cause. (And, had the jeans, boots AND phone been recovered ... at least slightly more convincing of natural cause. Possible and plausibility higher or elevated. If terrain matched. And, a presumption of no encounter or physical contact ... before, during or after. How easily would the body "reach" water? Height + physics)
[14 days and not sure what happened to phone.]
    Thus, how accurate were date/time/location?
Found in the river. Only 8 miles away.
Most definately potentially a HUGE clue.
Starting back to 9:58pm ... what are the potential location(s) to look at? FIRST.
    Possibilities there match the theory?
Speculative only... without any known general area ~ 9:58pm. Terrain?
And, then the 911 call (made by the friend) ... ouy very. Time and location are suspect IF true. May be nothing. May be A LOT. But, definately much more to consider if ... accurate.
And, if 911 call is "accurate" is the *presumption* Riley was robbed for wallet/phone ONLY ... then at some unknown time/location Riley; uninjured, must have fallen into the water on his own? And, river current took his clothing/boots and his larynx closed up (or head trauma from a fall caused unconsciousness) causing no water in the lungs? 👍 But, still there's a slight presumption; at a minimum. (Uninjured)
    [And, pending toxicology.
    After leaving a bar.]
    And, reported vomiting.
Also, have to consider IICP (before or after 9:55pm)
And, a witnessed potential closed head injury seconds after leaving the bar. And, a timeline of interest starting inside the bar ... being asked to leave ~ 9:35pm - 9:58pm.
    Or, ~ 11:00pm +/- timeline ... unclear.
And, happened ... when metro ... were right there.
Actively searching for ... a burglary suspect on Gay St.
Riley disappeared off camera on Gay St.

He unbuckled his pants to pee over the edge, swayed back and forth inebriated, and with a head injury, fell headlong over the embankment. The hard landing knocked him out of his boots. He stumbled into the river and the current eventually pulled the pants off. A native of the area would be able to say if he would have gotten caught in the dam's current. The one they shut off during the search. A hard fall such as when you get hit by a vehicle, will knock you clear out of your boots. A hard fall to the river's rocky edge would do the same including knocking you unconscious. Let's not make this an NBC Keith Morrison crime script where it is not merited. Keeping the story going keeps the GoFund Me money pouring in.

Come on everybody, Riley's case can be easily explained. We all got to see him that night and saw the state he was in. Maybe after Riley passed the officer, it made him a bit nervous, and all of a sudden, he has to pee. Riley takes a right into the brush. He undoes his pants, loses his balance and tumbles into the river. Riley could have died from a broken neck, from falling 25 feet forward.
