Tyler is a marine tech and has years of experience rebuilding Seastar Steering systems. The aluminum arms corrode onto the stainless steel rods and removal can easily become an miserable epic. He developed this tool to make a hard job easy.

You would think designing this tool it would fit a little better. All it dis is dig into the arm and messed up the thread on the bolt. I know it tight but all you had to do is close it 1/4"

I agree. I believe the tool would work better if the opening at the leg end was narrower by 5 to 10mm.

The rod pushed out the other side. The smaller one would not budge, I sprayed it with PB blaster and tomorrow is another day

Does this work on a HYNAUTIC k10 style? I have tried and it just keeps popping off.

Would have done tear down on steering brackets with motor trimmed down, per normal procedure. But time was short, and trim unit also has blown seals/ no fluid until I re-build later this week. So motor stayed up on the tilt stop levers for the video shoot.
