Had no idea this new Horrified was out! Thanks for giving us another amazingly helpful review. My wife and I absolutely love your videos, lots of love from the UK!

I think they did enough to keep the Horrified system fresh with the lairs and multiple symbols for each monster. Minotaur was actually no problem for us but like you said once you see the completed labyrinth you'll know where to put each piece. We did have questions that have since been answered for Basilisk. Being a huge fan of Greek mythology I put this at 2nd favorite Horrified behind Universal and in front of American.

same, i found it easy to get the hang of and I freaking love this game. It's my first Horrified game, got it on sale for like $10 at Target and it's replaced Reign of Cthulu as my favorite co-op board game....for now

Great comments on a game system I really love. Sad to hear there are as many confusing elements this time around. What a pretty game, tho

The unusable and incomplete rulebooks is a consistent issue with Ravensburger.
The Villainous games, specially Marvel ones, are basically unplayable because they don't know how to write rulebooks that explain how different things interact.

I agree the rules were not clear. We used any number of item so we had two items on each. We also struggled to know if it was any item added was blessed or just items that came from the temples were blessed… we enjoyed the game but that was a struggle.
About the lairs. We loved them bc the red player can hop around them which helps with getting closer to monsters to defeat them.

It certainly helped to be able to move to lairs! I just wish they did more for you. Good to know you had some confusion with the rules as well, unfortunate!

I love Horrified! We have the original only and my kids and I love playing it. I would like American Monsters but I don't think they would care as much about it. I saw this at Target and had to run away so it didn't accidentally end up in my cart lol

The original is such a classic. This was a strong game from the start! The new editions are mostly more variance and if you like the theme a ton the monsters are fun. American Monsters had some really interesting puzzles! Bigfoot was my favorite puzzle in all of Horrified probably.

I definitely think expansions are coming. Why else would they leave our iconic beasts like the hydra and cyclops.
    Thanks for the video!

There are almost certainly more monsters coming to this expandable system!

Did the previous two Horrified games get expansions? I hope this one does! Creatures like the Hydra, Cyclops, Manticore, and Typhon would be interesting challenges!

I was hoping for more from the theme as well. The legends and lairs are definitely missed opportunities. The game is just too similar to the other entries for my taste.
I also agree on the rule book… coming from someone that plays way more complex games.

You have a messed up copy the labyrinth pieces are not supposed to be identical. Also if you go left to right you place each piece in order than start to switch so the path is complete

I agree about the legends -- why aren't we playing as them and saving the average Joes? Seems backwards.
