I came from daily dose of Internet. Ngl I don't really care for bonsai ( besides the fact they look very nice) but you just look so happy talking about them. I strive to also find something that will make me this happy throughout my entire life! It's nice to see people like you every once in a while.
Please make a video showing how we can start a forest like this one. Tell us where we can find the trees, type of soil, how to plant, prune, and get started.
I’m happy because you won't sell it 😊 The roots of this beautiful forest are bound within you, and I'm happy I found your channel, I don't know how I didn't see it before, even though I follow a lot of accounts that are interested in the world of bonsai, you deserve more likes & subscribes
Thank you I just recently signed up on social media! 2 months ago I didn't even know what a subscriber or a follower was. Now I'm on RUclips, IG, Facebook and even Tiktok😅
Hi David. I truly admire your work and energy on such bonsais. I hope you put on some videos to teach people how to grow a forest like this. Even it takes 40-50 years for training the bonsai, we’d love to know the mindset, the principles, the technic you carry on day to day to make the amazing bonsai. If there is any course from you, I would love and be honor to to follow. Your knowledge is absolutely precious. Peace.
A tree that was thought to be a fossil but then they found a few living specimens?! IS THAT NOT THE COOLEST COMEBACK STORY EVER. He has dinosaur trees! Thats awesome
My mind is blown at the beauty of that little forest! I just found your channel. My kids have grown and I’m going to venture into bonsai for the second time. I didn’t have the time & focus the first time. Your videos are truly inspiring. ❤
This is beyond magical! I thought it was a coast redwood forest at first (closely related and look extremely similar) when watching on Daily Dose of Internet. Even more impressed to find out they're metasequoias! Still grow extremely tall naturally...I have no idea how you kept these from growing tall without making them grow crooked! Seriously, I am beyond impressed. ❤️ 🌲
This is so beautiful man. I would love to begin one of these mini forests myself. You have so much respect from me! Where can I get metasequoias? I started my own garden and have grown such a deeper connection to plants and this is just amazing my friend 🙏🏼
Hi David, not sure you'll see this or let alone reply, but is that a cedrus tree in the background and if so do you know the cultivar. I love the weeping habit of this tree. Thanks 👍
On google images I found the fossils of both dawn redwood and modern looking ginkgo in the same stone so I'm planning on growing both of these when I get my own house and garden to recreate that prehistoric environment, I even got both of these plants already but growing them as bonsai.
Very impressive that bonsai is a living treasure I have no words to describe how fascinated I was when I saw this video thank you thank you so much for share it
I've got one in my garden, I had it for about 30 years, it is BIG now!! An interesting point is that it is one of the few conifers that is deciduous i.e. it loses it's leaves during winter, along with the larch and swamp cypress, there may be more, I've got a swamp cypress as well, grows nowhere near as fast as the Dawn redwood (common name for metasequoia).
Beautiful trees and work done! I love your respect and honorary stance on these trees, let alone your love for the craft. I'm sure in general you view nature that way, it's pleasant to see that spark in other people. : )( :
I had a young Metasequoia forest and I loved it so much. But with a family emergancy calling me away my caretaker didn't water well enough in hot weather and it was lost and I really need to start another, they do grow well from cuttings I believe and I have one in my yard so I'm going to get busy.
i just did the math for fun lets say 200 dollars a day in work times 360 times 40 years comes to almos 3 million in work not to count the love so this in my humble opinion is worth up to 5 million dollars
Such a beautiful forest and the history makes it extra special!
All I can picture is tiny fairies dancing under the canopies of those gorgeous mini trees! ❤️
Oh I love that!
This is a special forest . . . Magical. Love all the videos.

My dream is to grow my own forest. However, I doubt I'll ever have the land to do so. How would one start doing something like your bonzai instead?
Nice forest 😍😍😍

That's amazing. After 40 years of care, I would never sell it, only pass it on to someone who will give it another lifetime of care.
I need some of these for my house! So cool!
Beautiful trees and work done!

50 million years? That's not "science", that's your "faith" in evolution.
The fossils would beg to differ

This is how I feel about my local woods in my area that I take care of and then people want to cut it all down etc. Pisses me off.
Where can we get some of those clippings to start our own boss?
Nice bonsai
Congrats! You were featured on the Daily Dose of Internet!
Here because of Daily Dose of Internet - Outstanding work!
Is a metasequoia just another name for a dawn redwood, because their foliage and bark look identical?
I remember reading about that
Daily Dose anyone?
STOP! Or I shall unleash my METASEQUOIA upon thee!
I would not sell it either. Beautiful.
Bay City Michigan here! Love the videos i would like to start a nursery anyone have any ideas or advice

Does your forest produce seeds?
When these masters pass who gets all these bonsais to ensure they live on?
