Well I find your first point a bit off, maybe I'm wrong - but - the average cost on a roll of Kodak Ektachrome in 120 is about $19.00 in Canada, while the average cost for Kodak Ektachrome 135 (36exp) is about $27.00 in Canada. In fact most 120 format film stock - BW or colour is cheaper than most BW or colour 135 film stock in Canada - key word, most. Also yes this is cool if you're trying to achieve the X-Pan format, I too have lusted over the same Fuji TX-1 and TX-2 for years, and I too blame Baxter and his owner for most of my film cravings. And I too went the same route as you, with my Pentax 67, and it works wonderfully. And yes the negatives are more impressive than the actual photos in most cases....lol
Hey, yeah I agree with your point about film stocks - Ektachrome is probably the most varied in price between the two formats as more common stocks are nearer in price for 135 vs 120 (Portras, Ilford HP5, Fomapan). However, I was specifically talking about shooting panoramas with Pentax 6X7 and the collective cost of stocks, developing and scanning for 135 vs 120 (as labs charge more for 120 dev & scan when compared to 135 dev & scan) and the amounts of shots we would get in panoramic format for the same price :) so in your example - to get 18 panoramic shots in pentax 6x7 I'd shoot two rolls of Ektachrome 120 instead of 1 roll of 135 which means twice the stock, dev & scan costs vs 135. Glad you blame Baxter and his boss too haha :D and happy to know you are using Pentax 67 for panoramic shots :) Couldn't agree more with your point on negatives vs photos haha. Do you shoot with sprockets exposed?
Can do the same thing on a Bronica if you want an even cheaper system. The 645 and 6x6 versions even have a dedicated panoramic back although a little pricey.
You didn't show how you unload the film after you've shot it. Doing it without an empty canister on the right, do you roll the exposed film back into the canister? If so, how. I saw one video where the person put an empty canister on the right sprocket to roll the exposed film into.

At 11:05 bonus step - I used a changing bag and inside it, opened the back of the camera, pull out the canister along with film wound into the 120 film spool to roll the film back into the original canister :) you could also do this in a completely dark room. What did you do with the camera in the end to get back to zero? My counter stays on 15 and I can still fire the camera and the mirror slaps and I can wind again..

The loading process is a lot easier with some 120 leader and means you don’t have to manually cock the shutter

Hi, I used a dark changing bag; put the camera inside, opened the back and wound the film back into the canister and then took it out of the dark bag.
Now it’s like 6 or 7 thousand for a x-pan

@@SathyaPeacock yes it is here, and some 120 film is on the way to use with the spacers. A mask is needed first though.
