Kevin uses it in their own music as well, his voice is usually edited, but it's for the artistic effect, the sound fitting with their music. autotune is just a form of voice modulation, but artists like Kanye overuse it to hide bad voices. it's just an artistic effect
Lol, people triggered by stuff like that don't seem to realize we've been editing music for the best quality, modifying and cutting audio since like... the 1960's? The 1950's? Autotune is a new feature, but editing audio to make it sound different isn't.
Ghost Town did an amazing job on this song. The theatrics of this song fits their band well. Also they actually made this song their own, unlike most of the other artist on this cover.

And it's a goddamn cover, if I wanted it to sound like Gerard then I'll go listen to the actual album. I think it's a good mix of keeping true to the original and adding their own twist on it.

But it was their choice to do so. It could have been the reason that they were trying to match along with the instrumentals. But honestly this song and their band has its own cool originality. A long time my chem fan, hearing this cover for the first time, it’s not bad. They kept it true to the original which is what i appreciate the most, just put their own sounds, patterns, and vocals in. And it sounds good, especially because it fits the style mama already has.

Derrick Jee autotune is old and not really used anymore. Melodyne is what's used now for this effect. :-)
Relatively new. It depends on how you look at it. Auto-tune became popular in the early 2000s.
