I’m trying to learn both watercolor and digital art at the same time…it’s very difficult TwT videos like these are always a great help, despite the fact Ive been doing digital art for 1 1/2 years! So thank you so much for your guides. Especially the “Make Mistakes” part. That’s something I struggle with as a huge perfectionist, which makes me take month long breaks from art sometimes :( but I’m getting better!
Rebelle 5. Tall order but u can make as many mistakes as u want without wasting the supplies.
It's still important to learn to use Pen Tablets I noticed. I started with the big girl wacom cintiq 22in in my high school design classroom. My ability to work from that down to a pen tablet made it 10x harder for learning when I graduated and got my own. It was awful, I do not suggest this at all.
Same!!! So our college lab has the wacom cintiq and now I'm thinking of buying a wacom or graphic tablet so I can work in the non- college hours...what do u suggest? I'm thinking of buying the screen display wacom because I really don't think I would be able to go back to the normal one after using a luxury one!
This was by FAR the best video out there explaining all this! Thank you so much, this is exactly the information I needed for my child who just got a drawing tablet but neither of us had a clue about any of it! So grateful to you!
Ive been looking for a comprehensive video like this for ages. My daughter is very creative and I thought this was a good idea to teach her about tech and at the same time encourage creativity. I spent 2 days trying to figure it out and almost lost my mind. Thanks so much, this was a great help!! I can see you spent a lot of time making this informative and easy to understand, thanks again!
Thank you so much for this! I have been following you for a long time but haven’t done much with learning where to start. I bought a tablet not knowing where to start and asking at the Apple store. I bought this dinky thing and is maybe useful for my grandchildren. LOL my business is taking a turn and I’m going to be diving deep into learning! So watch out here I come! Your videos are so easy to understand and follow along. Thank you for sharing this valuable information with all of us!❤️
As a tireless starting artist and upcoming Mangaka, this video is invaluable. Thank you!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate your comments about making mistakes. It's so true and really great to hear!
omg thank you so much
Thank you very much for creating this!!! I am already stoked about watching part 2! This is very helpful so far...and very positive, thank you :-)
As I recover from Neck surgery I finally find time to explore things I've always wanted to do but never had the chance because there was always something to do, Now I actually get to do things I want, not just career based.
Thank you. This was good to watch, especially about mistakes. They help you know what works for you.
I love your videos! Thank you for advices🙌
i wanna start trying digital art again and im here on your channel again waaahhh thank you for the videos!
Learned digital art because of you last 2019! went from using Huion pen tablet, then using photoshop and now using ipad air with procreate. Thank you so much nadia! you are a great teacher!
GREAT video!! I'm not a beginner myself, but still learned a lot!
you dont have any idea how much ur video helped me thanks
Excellent summary of drawing tablets! On my channel I spend a *lot* of time talking about drawing tablets *in great detail* and have to say this video is one of the best organized and efficient presentations on the topic I've seen.
Your video was really inspiring for a newbie to digital art! Than you, and keep up the good work 😘
great video! especially the chill background music
Hecking fantastic video Nadia. Super informative and clear.
I subscribed because you showed your bloopers at the end! This transcends your integrity in the video when you said don't be afraid to make mistakes! I feel sincerity in your words!
Aaaaa thank you so much >w
Thanks! Very informative and highly entertaining. Cheers!
Thank you soo much for this video this really helped me a lot since am about to get into digital art and start my art journey
Thank you !! I had no idea where to start when buying a tablet.
I just subscribed to your channel. This was especially useful since I recently got an iPad Air and I’m new to digital art coming from traditional art.
Great video, and information. I have a Huion Kamvas 190 Pro and I love it. It's just a little bigger at 19 inch, but still a nice form factor.
This was so helpful. Thank you
thanks for the tips yo and awesome setup yo!!!
Thank you so much, you have been very helpful 🙂
very informative, thank you!
Yayyy, exactly what I needed😱😍 An amazing new video from my most fav artist. Thanks so so much for making these amazing videos, Nadia. They are super helpful🤗💓
Aaaaaaaa, Viv, thank you so much >w< as always, I'm so happy to see your comment ♥️♥️ always looking forward to it. Thanks so much for your love and support 😍🥺
LOVELY!!! thank you Nadiaxel!
Annnnnd i started with your 2018 guide :) ♥
I use Clip Studio Paint on a Samsung Galaxy tablet, I love it!
Great introduction! As a beginner myself I’m really looking forward to you next video. 🙏
aaaa I hope you will like it >w< thanks for watching!!!!
thank you so much for this video :D was looking to try digital art. I have a severe injured drawing arm, and i always drew traditionally as I'm older and it was what we had in the 90s. Now however i have a sever injured drawing arm and cant hold a pencil, nor control over the strength of my hand like i did before my accident. I didn't want to give up. This video was the only one that answered a lot of my questions :) i will watch the other vids in the description also :D so very thankful for your vid and inspiration :)
great guide, thanks !
Hullo Nadia! wonderful beginner video! I am so glad your still doing these! I send people who come to my computer class and rather than try to show them and use up the entire class in digital art instruction I send them to you! I even have a lady who is going to purchase the Clip studio program! She is still using the demo, but is excited about the program! Thank you for your continued support and I do hope these videos preform for your channel! Have a wonderful week and thanks again!
ive been doing digital art for 2 years, i have all three kinds of drawing hardware yet im watching this video 😂 gotta make sure i didnt do a mistake anywhere in the past
Waiting for almost a month and finally got the video yay.. 🥳🥳🥳
This video was beyond helpful! I am now watching videos to learn my tool instead of trial and error. Why did I not think to do this before you told me? haha!
Great video. Thanx!
Let's gooooo!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo000000000000000HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Agreeeeeeeed!
My tablet of choice is always a pen tablet, I use the Xp pen Deco MW which is also bluetooth. It helps with my back posture and it's more portable for me when I wanna use my laptop. Software of choice is always Krita and Clip Studio paint pro.
thank you so much for this/these video/s. I have a Huion 22 that I've only recently got out from under the desk. I got a new arm for it so it can be a second monitor when not in use. However that is all it has been so far, for the exact reasons you state in this video! I've just downloaded Krita the other day as well. I'm off to watch part 2, and then the Overcoming video. My primary use case will be to learn digital sculpting in Blender, I currently sculpt traditionally, but let's learn how to use the flipping tablet first, lol. Also followed you on Twitch
You’re so goatee ❤❤❤
I always appreciate this channel and I'm on my journey on digital, painting is my main issue since I never painted before not even traditional. I'm glad that when I decided to change for CSP so did she and her tutorials are always nice
Aaaa thank you so much ♥️ you're so sweet >w
Thank you for making this video. :) Have you mentioned in a previous video the reasons why you switched from PS to Clip? Or perhaps this could be a new video topic? I'm intrigued now.
I'm the same way photoshop was my go-to now I will have to start working in studio clip
This is a very conplete guide , thank you ! My tip: think of what you already have and how to improve that setup with a low inpact on your wallet.
I thought I HAVE to have an ipad and procreate. But turns out after some research, my budget tablet i already have (lenovo tab P11) does have a stylus made specifically for it. So instead of overconsuming and spending about 1k chf, I'll order a lenovo pen for like 55 bucks and get started. Maybe down the line I'll upgrade to a surface or galaxy tab, but thats only if i really enjoy the digital approach to art and if I gonna open an etsy shop idk. For now im happy I've found that wallet-saver stylus haha
cool stuff😍
From the Microsoft side, they aren't targeted towards artist but do NOT get a slim pen as it's specific to newer models and requires special type of charger. In the Microsoft line of hardware all surface products support pen that includes tilt and pressure sensitivity. Microsoft Go 10.5" products might be a okay starter set all the way up to the surfacebook 15", these products are meant for office/portable pc/onenote use and have the appropriate cost high cost.
I use a Wacom One for home drawing and an iPad Pro 12.9 inch for mobile drawing (though lately I have been using my iPad more these days) also I’m a CSP user too! It’s wayy cheaper for me, even the iPad annual subscription - it has everything I need❤️🫶🏼
I always get excited when you post up another video. This was very informative to anyone who is just starting out digitally.
I absolutely love Clip Studio and love my Wacom Cinitq. Though, I tried using that Express Key Remote and the thing ended up dying on me without warning with just a few uses.
I love your videos and your blooper at the end was enjoyable, your goofy personality is amazing and reminds me of my own personality
I have a system tablet. I got it because I wanted to learn digital art, but have something I can use for school. It comes with an attachable keyboard. I am starting to learn to use clip studio paint. I have only had experience with art on paper and canvas, but have always wanted to learn digital art.
You really should add art studio pro to the ipad apps options
THANK YOU .,
Once again amazing information. Personally, I am lucky I was able to find a cheap surface pro. I use both krita and clip studio for drawing/painting/designing. It can somewhat handle even blender to a degree too. I just wish it was a tiny bit less expensive. But I also wanted to do more than draw and needed full windows for multitasking PC applications so that's why for my specific use case, The surface line made more sense for me.
I still have a little Wacom non display tablet for my desktop if I need it. But. I prefer to draw on screen. Im not one of those that can look up while drawing either. Keep up the great work! I'll keep watching
I received the xp pen artist pro 14 2nd gen as a birthday gift. I started drawing with photoshop and just recently I downloaded Krita trying it out, it would take me a while to figure out the shortcuts. The shortcut remote is nice but when I customized it for photoshop I quickly forgot the shortcut of each key, this is why I am still relying on the keyboard, but I like zooming in and out and changing brush size with the remote
Krita is available for Android too
I am from India ..
I like you and Your video ..
Just a thing!! For people who dont know, Ibis Paint is now on Windows !!
Its 20 bucks tho but it really works just as well as it does on and Android tablet or and iPad
It came out like- a few days ago i think so its kinda obvious it wouldnt be mentioned here :']
Awesoooomeee!!!! Thank you for letting everyone know >w
I woke up this morning flipping through my facebook and came across an ad for a digital art academy. I went to school for and have a degree in psychology I'm not using because I didn't want to study psychology or accounting I wanted to be an artist and was told it isn't a viable financial career to get into. I been searching for a purpose for years and years something that I can love to do and be passionate about. Seeing that ad today was a wake up call for me. I don't really care that I can't afford that fancy CA academy. I don't really care if I would make more money being a lawyer or accountant. I want to be an artist again. It's been so long since I've drawn or painted or did anything artistic I know I'm going to be rusty as hell. I'm a gamer and a lover of other digital art. I know next to nothing about how to even dive into this but thanks to this video I feel confident in knowing how and where to start. I just need a couple tools, to learn how to use them and jump in! I can use tutorials and perhaps down the road classes/lessons to fine tune my work. It's a marathon not a sprint. But I appreciate you making this video! I think you're doing a great service to people like me who want to start on a new path and need guidance! Thank you
This is a great video, I am a newbie and I am hesitating between purchasing a pen display tablet and an Ipad, you say you use an ipad in the video can you please share which Ipad you use?
Great video, I wonder if you or anyone on this form could recommend great apps for learning how to draw I'm a beginner and eager to learn. I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 light
I'm getting this one from Walmart. Digital Art Tablet, TSV 7.5 x 5.5" Graphics Drawing Tablet
i have a wacom tablet that i have for my computer but i also use my ipad air as well
I Have inspirioy h950p so can you please tell me what shortcut to add, I have 2 more extra. Thank you :)
Hi! I hv some questions which I not getting anywhere. So can you please answer them from your experience.
What are the hardware requirements , eg- memory, display, ports, sdcard space etc for a good table for drawing and animation? That we should keep in mind while buying.
also for android devices now we can use KRITA ver.5! *screams*
with the same widow as the laptop version, Krita on android devices is really AMAZING and perfectly works on my device (Samsung galaxy tab s 6) ><
Do you use clipstudio paint too on the ipad? I tried to learn it but I got so overwhelmed by it and stuck to procreate. But I would love to learn clipstudio on the ipad specific (I use krita on my pc)
Corel Painter works on Mac too.
And their recent update (2023) says it runs natively on M1 chips. (You mention "only Windows")
Right after watching your old videos I came to this video and dam you had a glow up
great video. fyi Krita is now available for android tablets (not phones)
Nice
pretty 🌝
The algorithm gods have blessed me with this video
Hahhaa thank you, algorithm Gods x,D
Ладно, подпишусь 👍🏻
off topic but I am here for the very first time... is that your real hair color? If so... Awesome!!! Thank you for the tutorials!
I been taking notes from everyone videos 😭
I’m so happy with my xp pen tablet but I’m struggling to find a program I like 😅
Idk if anyone said this already but krita and medibang paint are on Android devices too (probably on Apple devices also i just have android)
I recommend the Veikk S640 as a beginner/entry level tablet as it goes for only about £21.99 (don't be fooled by the price, it's performance is pretty good), only slight annoyance is the smooth surface rather than a more paperlike surface.
okay, we need more bloopers from now on haha.
i’m early! :3
aaaaaaaaaaa thank you for running here so fast X)
Can I still use a system tablet with my PC?
Thank you! Some cool info. The end advice about tools over basic skills was a gem. Going to pass it on to my teenage daughter, she wants to be an artist too. But we're making art mistakes as a family. Lol
Alternate title: How to get gud at digital art. ❤
Nadiaxel is always so pretty in her vids.
Step one : buy thr most expensive Wacom you can find
Step two : break it 15 minutes after setting it up
Step three : cry for 2 days straight
Step four : get art superpowers and become are God.
Step five: prophet
😂😂. Awesome video Nad!!! 👏🏿👏🏿
The first three steps scared da living crap outta of me hahahha XD Love it!!!!!
@@Nadiaxel yes yes. 😂You must suffer first before your power comes to you. 😂
The fact both profit and prophet work here makes me laugh
@@ssnekky YES ITS PERFECT wahhaahahahaa!!
@@ssnekky Yup
.,😂. Got you
Great overview video! I just wanted to point out at 11:02 though, that the Microsoft Surface line is Windows based and is a PC, not android based like the Galaxy Tab line.
And as some additional info in case anyone finds it useful: Microsoft's pens can be used with certain other compatible 2 in 1 laptops. Microsoft has two pens to make note of, the Slim Pen and the Surface Pen. The Slim Pen is newer and better, and what I'd recommend if you're getting a new Surface device. However for other 2 in 1 laptops, the Surface Pen is compatible with more devices. Personally if you want to use it for drawing, I'd still recommend the MS Surface Pro line over other laptops just because its made to go with their pens, but I know people that prefer other 2 in 1 laptops because they want a discrete graphics card.
Also, Galaxy Tabs ship with the pen included, so you won't need to buy a separate pen like with MS Surfaces or iPads
This info is GOLD! Thank you so much for sharing it
@@Nadiaxel the cheapest version of photoshop is also 9.99 usd
i have a drawing laptop with a touch screen of course :3 mine cost about 1000 euro and its from hp
As somone who has been doing digital art for most of my life (now 30) - please don't think you need the fanciest most expensive tablet/software/setup. I personally have never been able to use pen display tablets and do worse art than I would do on a regular pen tablet. Experiment and try things out! Pen tablets are NOT just beginner tablets and used by many professionals out there.
ALSO please experiment with softwares if able. I got too sucked into photoshop and jumping to CSP has been a pain. But if you go for an industry job - you may need to learn what is standard in the industry.
Agreed. Professionals like Shigenori Soejima and Namgoreng still use Intuos tablets for their art. Which I 100% can understand why some people just prefer them because of the ergonomics and reduced eyestrain from staring at the screen for too long. In the end tools in art is extremely subjective and it's all about using what you prefer than what is the best!
Why are these better than an IPad
I wish most of them would just let you charge and take them anywhere instead of hooking it up to a laptop or comp in order for it to work or process
may god bles you
Ipad still the best tablet 😄
It's SO good!!!!!
Did you purposely chose that timestamp on the cellphone? :p
I really want to be a good artist but my art is not the best. I had to look at a picture to draw in the video I posted.
Using references is heavy part of my process. Keep using them and studying them! That's definitely the way to go ✨💪
@@Nadiaxel Thank you
You can now use an IPad with your Windows Desktop. This is awesome as I can use an Apple Pencil and my finger gestures that work for Procreate, while hooked to my WINDOWs 10 Desktop.. This evil marriage is created using AstroPad Studio. It is a lightweight interface between the Windows world and Apple which until recently didn't exist.. I now will only decide to get a Drawing Tablet because I want to get a 15 or 16 inch screen and my iPad is only 10.9. It is cheaper to get a 15 or 16 inch Drawing Tablet vs getting a newer larger iPad which only goes up to 12.9 inches.
