- Hello everyone, the ROC Team has been finalised! The team consists of Angelina Melnikova, Viktoria Listunova, Vladislava Urazova and Lilia Akhaimova. Congratulations to these girls! So, can the ROC team bag a medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics? Will they be able to hold on to their second place standing? Or will Team China defeat them?
Based on the 2021 Russian Cup, European Championships and Russian Championships, I have calculated the potential score of Team ROC as a team.

@@akademiks21 the things simone has had to go through it insanely different and more difficult than the other athletes. you cannot call her mentally weak in comparison to the ROC gymnasts when they didn't have to deal with anything mentally like she did.
Too bad they can't represent Russia in the Olympics because of state sponsored doping.

I still think the US did well and should be proud, but I think the Russians landed a well deserved face slap to skeptics. It was never the case they couldn’t win, they just weren’t the favourites.

They won 🥇 i’m new for gymnastics and wonder why the Russian team both men and women were so humble when their scored quite high. Their face kept humble even when they finished the hard score. I really like their humble way of celebration their achievements.
It's because of their harsh training and the country they live in. Their lives are much different & they constantly train to do better.

Hey ! I come from the future! THE ROC TEAM BEATED THE USA TEAM!
Russia had 2 gymnasts, Urazova and Listunova who aren't used to losing to USA team. In fact, they've never lost to USA in any team final (Jr Worlds, 2020 Olympics).
They won gold, first time since 1988

I love my American gymnasts, but I have always felt like the Russian & Romanian gymnasts were better.
Well, they beat USA in qualifications. US team reminds me of 2008 team, favored to win but ultimately choking.
2008 US Team was never the favorite to Win, I don't know how they portrayed in the US but in The rest of the World China was the Clearly Favorite to win, 2008 US Team was impressively strong 3 world AA champions and One Olympic Champion, however China had key events like bars and beam exploiting the new code with so many flaws.
@@luisquijano1040 Team USA needed a healthy Chellsie Memmel to compete for the gold, and with her out of BB and Peszek completely out as well, it was clearly China's to loose.
2008 Chinese team was incredible and exploited the COP perfectly on UB and BB, with Cheng Fei (and Jiang Yuyuang if not injured) Amanar and floor abilities, they were extremely well rounded. Love love love this team 😍

Edit, I want to be clear, that was not a slam against Simone. She's going through a lot and what happened today was unexpected and uncharacteristic. But I do find, with the rest of the team, that consistency isn't the number 1 focus. Suni Lee (who I love) fluctuates between routines on bar. Grace has good days and bad days, as does Jordan even though we haven't seen a bad day for a while. Russia put up the numbers they usually put up and it worked
What Simone is going through is awful but a the end of the day the Russians where stronger mentally and won. That’s just how Olympic Games are. I wish her to get back into it and feel better

It's the Russian Olympic Committee. Because of the statewide doping scandal, Russia technically doesn't exist which is why they're using the "ROC" abbreviation.

That ban is a joke and basically the only punishment is that they can't fly their flag or play their anthem. If WADA wanted to really send a message this would have been an ACTUAL ban. "none of your athletes can compete under your flag or any other". This BS punishment has no teeth, clearly.

We still have the best gymnast in the world, so you guys can have your *gold.
And Russia still has the most consistent all arounders who finished 4, 5, 6 in qualifications while US can only rely on Simone and Suni for aa. Also, Russia has the most consistent team on vault, bars and floor, and if they hit beam, no matter how well us does, they win. Oh and how can i forget, Russia could have qualified 4 bar workers into bar finals if not for the two per country rule.

@@John-tr6of you are still blatantly underestimating the talent of Russia. They have three strong all arounders who can all get big scores on all 4 events. They are also consistent usually, maybe excluding beam, but they can hit when it counts on beam too. While us is great and very strong on floor/vault, Russia is just more talented as a team. Second, I never discredited the win. All I said was Simone being right and the outcome is different. There's no evidence to disprove that.
Third, you failed to mention that they fell off beam twice.
Fourth, I said I came here to look at Melnikova, which was my main point.
@@John-tr6of And us made similar mistakes too. So it wouldn't have made a difference. First was Biles' and Grace's bad landings on vault. Second was Grace clipping her feet on bars. Third was Grace going out of bounds and fourth was Jordan falling and going out of bounds twice, . The deductions/penalties for this add up to around 3 points, so even if Russia fell twice, they still would have won
