And then i saw your comment and tried it. Thanks so much! I was worried asf thinking my computer was broken but in reality just needed a cleanup (haven’t cleaned it since July 2018 when I got it) . After I cleaned it up it stopped restarting but randomly wouldn’t boot to windows and I opened BIOS and was able to boot windows from there and it updated an restarted my pc and everything seems fine now. Guess this was a wake up call to why I should take care of my computer better.

      @@MacCoyzkie so I recently got a virus on my PC so I hard reset it to whipe all my data then my PC just kept turning on and off so I tried the ram method and that didn't work is it possible that the virus messed up my entire PC or am I missing something

    • @MacCoyzkie
      @MacCoyzkie  4 года назад +2

      @@hello-4503 i think the only pc component that a virus can destroy are your drives and if the virus is really potent it could also destroy your motherboard. I haven't heard of a virus destroying the processor, gpu and rams. In your case you could never get to backup your files and the only solution is have a clean installation of windows. On the other hand, also consider the solutions in this video before doing a clean installation of windows

    • @MacCoyzkie
      @MacCoyzkie  3 года назад +1

      @Tray if there is any that is a bit scary but i haven't experience something like that and hopefully will never experience it. Also i doubt that this is possible since motherboard bios are different from each manufacturer and there is no way a virus could download the latest bios for a specific motherboard, run it and shut itself down to destroying the motherboard. Plus i don't think flashing bios using your boot drive is possible, it needs to be in a specific usb port (with "flash bios" indication) to update a bios at least for the motherboards of 2021

    Guys I know how to fix it. If reseating the ram doesn't work use a screwdriver, make sure the power supply is still plugged in but turn the switch off, press the power button a few times to make sure its off. Hold the screwdriver on the 2 pins sticking out where it says CMOS on the motherboard usually on the lower right or left for 15 seconds then try to turn it back on. I was getting a boot loop for 5 hours tried literally everything re-seating ram, everything.... and this is the only thing that worked.

    Very important: I just had this problem and even more lot of times the pc was starting but no display at all, sometimes boot loop. I checked the cpu and I noticed there was some green plasticky residues on the contacts pads, I removed them with a needle and this probably solved the problem. I say probably because I did this few minutes ago but I believe it will work fine now because every pin on the cpu has different functions and those residues were probably causing current interruptions between cpu and motherboard.

    PLEASE READ UPDATE BELOW FOR SOULTION THAT ENDED UP FIXING THIS ISSUE FOR ME!!!
    (initial post) From my most recent experience with a PC that would reboot, I learned that the easiest thing to do before you start looking into the hardware is to first look at certain drivers. I had a PC that would reboot periodically while gaming. I thought I had an issue with my CPU cooler. I replaced it with a better cooler, but that didn't fix the problem.
    What I did was download a monitoring software called HWinfo and GPU/CPU load testing program called Cupid Powermax. I would first start the monitoring process with HWinfo and then start load testing the CPU. As soon as I started the test for the GPU, my PC would reboot. This happened every time I ran both load test together. My first guess was that I had an issue with the graphics card, but I decided to uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. That seems to have fixed the rebooting issue. I'm not sure if I had corrupt drivers or not, but my guess is that a Windows update may have caused this issue a while back with their last big update.
    UPDATE!! What actually ended up fixing the issue was to reinstall Windows 10. That was many months ago and the issue hasn't even happened again.

    SOLVED: Recntly my PC windows 10 would randomly freeze then restart itself. I've tried a lot of different things such as reinstalling windows, doing malware scans, disk clean up, and disk defragment, all which is due to me thinking its a software issue, but it wasn't. For my final attempt I ended up actually opening up my computer and cleaning the hardwares. to my surprise there was A LOT of dust inside, especially on my fans. After cleaning and dusting off my computer then putting everything back in. The computer finally stopped having random freezes and restarts. My issue was definetly caused by too much dust inside of my computer. I felt so stupid at the end but im really glad I solved it and dont have to buy a new computer. 2 days now and still good.

    Wether or not I get a response, I dont know but worth the shot. Had this problem where suddenly my pc shut itself on, even did the "shutting down" screen. Turned it back on, and after a little while of running again it turned off again. Then, it did the constant off and on rebooting. I talked with a friend who is pretty knowledgeable about computers and he came over to check it out. Long story short, we checked a few different things eventually resulting in taking out one of the ram sticks, then swapping to check the other which got the computer to boot up normally. Used it for some time, updated and played a couple games and everything seemed okay, so figured maybe one of the ram sticks wasn't good. Came home from work today and noticed the ssd light was on which isn't normally on when the computer is powered off normally which I did the night before. So, back to square one, I searched and found this video. Tried the first few steps and after seeing the bit about cleaning the ram sticks I figured that made sense as messing with them seemed to make a difference previously. Did that, tried both at the same time, 1 at a time and swapping them 1 at a time and still no progress. Curious if anyone maybe sees this comment if they could have anymore input as to what other thing to try. I can still check other components but I'm quite positive based on what happened previously, it has something to do with the ram. Thanks in advance for any comments

    • @MacCoyzkie
      @MacCoyzkie  Год назад

      if you already clean the ram sticks the way it was suggested in the video and still doesn't work, i suggest try those ram sticks in your friend's pc and see how it goes. If it worked normally after some tests then this could be a motherboard ram slot issue, maybe hardware or it just needed dust cleaning. Obviously if your friend's pc with your ram sticks didn't work then that could be your ram sticks.

      -pc not being used could have this type of problems, it's inevitable that is why i always tell my clients to use their pc at least half an hour everyday. Anyway for now just try to re-seat the parts and boot the pc and let see how it goes
