This week I check out some very kind paper-based gifts from @Reading_MOVIES and take a little look at two new figures from the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection!

I was thinking that maybe the euro cards might be more valuable in the future because they might be more scarce? Not that I think it would matter to you anyway but it’s just an idea
@robertfrancois6064 Sure, it's a possibility, but unfortunately the Euro cards are less desirable to begin with, and the fact that they even exist is just crazy. I shouldn't complain really because I'm lucky to have them while people in other countries are being literally shot to bits. It's very easy for me to moan about some missing text while I'm safe and warm.

T'was another wonderful haul on your channel, MB! Until you mentioned it here, I had completely forgotten that Evil-Lyn had the cape on the original show (it's a terrible thing to become so forgetful)...anyway, I am already geared and ready for next week's video!👈🐒

Yeah I think Mattel dropped the ball with the Evil-Lyn figure. I also forgot to mention that her skin tone is way too yellow. In the cartoon, she was very pale. Still a nice figure, but not cartoon accurate, which sort of misses the point of a "Cartoon Collection" line.

Yes, the gifts were very kind. Reading Movies has a real knack for spotting things. We are going to the Norwich Toy Fair together next weekend and I bet his eagle eyes will pick out some stuff that will come home with me. He doesn't miss a trick and is very handy to have around!

For it's smaller scale I found the details well done. Just looked them up: Takara Tomy has some nice Star Wars figures, also a few droids 🙂 The vehicles they have are in another scale than the figures but look nice too. You guys think it could be cool to see a 1/24 version of the the classic Kenner Star Wars line? (vehicles/figures) Think it might be cool..
@sva3897 I'd like to see the classic Star Wars figures done at the same scale as MASK. That would be brilliant. Accessories would be tiny though.

Haha great ‘low res’ intro screen raucous duck! Thanks for comparing the scale of that pilot Luke figure. Indeed a bit smaller, 1/24 I would estimate. Interesting scale that could even be more convenient for vehicles than the original kenner (approx) 1/18..

Yeah the Luke die-cast is a strange scale but he is very cool. I wonder what other figurines they have in the line.

Those are some cool MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection versions of Webstor and Evil-Lyn. Yes it's a bit disappointing they are the European versions and that Evil-Lyn lacks her cape from the cartoon. The packaging still looks a bit cool though! :)
@TimHayes Yeah I do really like the packaging for this line. I like the retro style red cards that come with the standard Origins figures but these new ones look fantastic too.

The metal collection figures are great. I have quite a few of them now. They are still easy to find in Japan. A shame they never got released worldwide.

And I do love the cartoon collection MOTU figures, they look great, especially Webstor, but real shame you didn’t get the cards you wanted 😢, but they’ll still display great I’m sure dude 👍

The lack of text *is* a bit sh*t. It is, and has always been, a stupid decision from Mattel.
According to the US cards, Webstor is apparently the "Evil Master of Escape!" and the ancient cat relic is... As Seen On "The Cat and the Spider".

Those MotU figures look great, but randomly sending out the Euro cards is rather annoying (it happened to me during my Origins phase).
@AllThings80s yeah it's a shame but I've taken it on the chin like an absolute boss and I only cried for like 5 or 6 minutes about it. 😅
