This week, I take a quick look at the TMNT Scalers "figurines" (?) from NECA, get lucky finding some Basil Brush annuals, and receive a very kind gift parcel from Jason F!

Hello Monkeyboy! You got yourself another great haul there! I never got the chance to read any of the Basil Brush annuals whilst a child, so here's to hoping that I might do so in the future, as long as my consciousness hasn't been transferred into the body of a robot, because then it would be difficult to turn the pages with smooth, metallic fingers (unless they put a coating of rubber on each digit). I was glad to see the M.U.S.C.L.E.S. you received because, with the exception of the first one (I used to have that one), I've never seen the others at all! Thank you for continuing to share your acquirements with us, and may you have splendid week! 🐒 👍

Never saw the Bond movie "The Jawa with the Golden Gun"... The Jawa looks like Amazon Black Series 50th Anniversary line. But don't know where the golden ion rifle comes from.

I believe the Jawa is an "Offworld Jawa" from The Mandalorian show. Not sure exactly what toy line it is. Maybe a custom, as there wasn't a Jawa in the Mandalorian retro collection, was there?

Some really nice gifts there. I never get tired of looking at M.U.S.C.L.E figures, they're just so odd and cool!
I don't remember having anything Basil Brush related, but I do like those annuals. I used to have a 1970s annual called Ludwig, which was about the adventures of an egg with legs. Bonkers it was!

It really was quite disturbing. Years later, as an adult, I saw an animated version of Ludwig which exploded. I think the character was used to promote some sort of government information film in the vain of Protect and Survive.

@@MonkeyboysToys I'd like to see the annual again, but it might be a rarity now. It was quite unusual then to be honest! I would have read it in the late 80s and it definitely seemed different from anything else that was around at the time.
I don't remember Ludwig having arms, but he must have done because he could play the violin. 🥚🎻
@stephengray8374 Christ, it gets even more horrifying. Of course he could play the violin, one of the top 3 creepiest musical instruments ever created.

I may buy some of those Scalers and take a paintbrush to them. I'm sure their shells could do with being more glossy too.

I think that plastic "straw" (from the Turtles Scalers) has been used by Toy Polloi to fix certain toys. A very handy piece of packaging. :)

Noice! The Scalers are random items, but unique, can't say I've ever seen anything like them before. I'll take four please.

Awesome gifts from Jason! The Jawa looks modern but I'm not sure, he is super cool though.
Loving the Bazil Brush books, (Boom Boom), Brazil was one of my favourites as a kid, but sadly, unlike your good self, I didn't have him as a teacher at my school..... 😂
@Retrotoyguysi Yeah in my primary school they used to wheel out a TV on a trolley and we would all piss ourselves watching the Basil Brush show every day or however many times it was on. I feel like it was every day but could be wrong about that. It certainly sticks out in my mind though.

You got to love Muscle figures! :) I think the Jawa is a custom Off-World Jawa from the Mandalorian made by Stan Solo. Look for an SS on one of the legs. The "SS" will be the coo Stan Solo puts on his custom figures.

It certainly is a Jawa, although he does look very brown rather than the usual tan. And his blaster is usually black, not gold. Curious, very curious!
