Hey everyone! While editing our latest Aermail video (which should be out very soon) I ended up recording over an hour of nice b-roll of the Aether rewrite build's day/night cycle. This visual was lovely and I felt it would be good to put it to use in a little showcase of our iconic soundtrack! So sit back, relax, and enjoy over 45 minutes of Aether vibes! See you all soon for another Aermail video!
a mod we all still wish having been merged with the base game years ago to complete Minecraft and finaly recive a native counter part to the Nether ( a very awesome mod, good job ^^)
I'm so envious, I allways wanted to play mods like the ather and pixle Mon, but didnt know how to install them. And when I discorverd how to install mods. I learned my pc couldnt run them 😢
I remember the feeling i got when i first got the Aether mod to work for the first time over ten years ago. Once i entered the portal, I was greeted with the Clouds theme (13:33). I don't think anything in Minecraft has given me such a joyous feeling before or since.
I remember trying to make the Aether portal using glow stones when I was playing the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft and I was let down finding out that it was actually a mod and not in the vanilla game. Whenever I hear this music, I remember watching Toby Games Minecraft videos when he was playing the Aether mod, it was a nostalgic trip.
My favorite incarnations of Heaven and otherworldly paradises like the Aether are that they are never able to be truly perfect because we as people can not imagine a perfect world without it feeling like it something other than our imperfect surroundings, something alien and distant that wants to shower us in affection and remove all suffering, but that ultimately can not. True bliss is unachievable because when you remove all struggle, you’ll seek interaction and stimulation, which Heaven can not provide. That’s why the Aether always spoke to me, as well as being so incredibly well designed and for having so much passion put into it, but because there was still adventure to be had. It wasn’t heaven, it wasn’t an afterlife, it was the same life lived, but somehow more calm, more serene, which made the scary parts (The gaping holes you could fall through, the new creatures and hard as nails bosses and dungeons with new unheard of mechanics) all the more unsettling. It felt like you had broken through into Heaven, and you weren’t supposed to be there, which is ultimately the feeling Minecraft always gave me. An intruder in a perfect world. Thanks for shaping my memories! Here’s to Aether 2!
What a brilliant mod, with brilliant game design, and a brilliant soundtrack to boot. I adore it and can't wait to see what the team have in store next.

Yes! Can't believe the Aether I rewrite is actually almost finished and II's gonna be getting worked on. Aether's been a favorite mod of mine for years and it's always great to see it still going strong. This soundtrack will always be iconic to me, Meadow especially.
I still remember my first visit in Aether, when I learned game modding and the Portal finally worked Wings were playing, and I saw the blue skies consisting of clouds, islands resided by new creatures, some of them being friendly, some of them aggresive Till today, I describe The Aether as hostile, yet beautiful paradise, and whilst visiting it, I can't help but drop a tear out of all those recalled memories, even before getting to Aether itself, but trying to activate the gate unsuccessfully
I just love the Aether Mod. I'm glad i'm trying to help with one of the translations, but still, you guys are just epic. At this point it's worth making a whole channel dedicated to The Aether Mod... Maybe i'll consider that idea lmao
Just slept to this soundtrack last night, and it's really something else. Thank you to Emile and everyone who has worked on the piece of art that is The Aether.
This might not be made with this in mind, but i love the detail that the video itself only starts to turn from day to dusk when the Aether II tracks start playing, referring to how the Aether I mod is stuck in the Eternal Daylight, while in the Aether II we get the full day-night cycle!
are some of these new soundtracks by Emile? I really love to see that even after all this time over a decade later, you guys and Emile are still working together on creating music for the mod. really is the perfect vibe for the mod always has been. I always thought they should hire her for the actual game.
Emile is a guy, the name is pronounced "(eh'meel)" not "(em'ih'lee)" and is a traditionally male name. Just a friendly heads up since I noticed you said "her"
I hope they get ao eone else, this soundtrack is awful, it's distracting, it's not indicative of minecraft's style of music, unless you're comparing it to lena raine's trash. This is something you immediately turn off when you start the game.
so bacicly this video is bacicly just the aether 2 bandcamp page in video format and since a handfull of songs were on a seperate bandcamp page or on spotify and a few songs arent on any music websites they got left out so the labrynth miniboss themes and the music discs from genisis of the void and also noistorm and aether legacy got left out
I loved this MOD so much Aether I but II not that the creatures yes but the story line like humans not that much, The Valk's yes they were cool I really should instal it back again on my New PC man missed it so much
They are basically ready to release a beta. Very soon there will be an Aermail explaining about the porting + what they will do after they resume with Aether 1 for 1.19.4
The music sounds quite heavenly. How do they compare to the soundtrack of the Nether? I have actually come up with the names for some new songs which include Agryropoeia, Liveo, and As Above.
the team has constantly been working on new iterations of the mod, public releases have been spotty for a while do to loosing their lead coder from being hired by mojang and the rate of new Minecraft versions as of late. from what I've seen they're making some really good progress and we might get to see something a bit more substantial soonish. if you wanna keep tabs on it i recommend joining their discord server
Yes, we'll be releasing a beta of the Aether 1 rewrite for 1.19.4 in the very near future (It is currently playable via our CircleCI service, which you can find on our Discord server) Aether II will resume development sometime following, we'll be releasing an Aermail covering the Aether rewrite and our next steps in the next few days.
@@DevAether glad to see you folks still going strong, me and the Aether go about as far back as me and Minecraft :) "hostile paradise" was, is, and will remain as my favorite description ever.
I didn't spend much time with he first aether. That was mostly from RUclips and watching TobyGames back then. But I have played Aether 2, and my most disappointing thing was not having the silver dungeon: sky temples. Also, the 3 times only dungeon was a broken mess, and I was not motivated to do them. The update that made a grid of round island bioms was the most dull thing I could have experienced. Other than that, the mod was some of my favorite experiences I have ever played. I'm hoping to see the dungeons in a usable state. Even if small, make it easier on yourself, make them smaller, it's better that way. And it's less complicated. Also, the Skylands generation, which was an old aether/beta minecraft concept, should stay faithful. It was good and I like to keep it. I haven't played this mod in a while, but when I did, the void killed the player. I think it was nice to bring us back to the overworld sky, and we took our chances of landing in water. It added a 2nd chance challenge to the game so we can panic twice. Also, the void is supposed to be an end hame challenge with and after the boss. It doesn't make sense for a world ment for exploring. One thing I think should be big here is proving a resource to benefit the players who have taken the time to earn an elytra. Like how rockets are but something native and lore friendly to the Aether. It really could benefit from having some unity with End dimension assets. I still never found the value in getting one because of some drawbacks, and I just like the utility of a boat more. But here, it could give me a reason to take the time to find one. But also offer a weak alternative to those that didn't earn one like the air bunnies from back then. Slow and falling only.
@@PhoachPlaylist These are all issues that our current team agree with and will be fixing with the next Aether II update, following the release of the Aether 1 rewrite
