Teaser trailers are my jam because they typically feature music in a more prominent way, and are more focused on the overall vibe of the film over the plot. Really interesting to see this iconic theme re-used in a way that makes a statement about how the upcoming film will depict the Superman mythos.
Great analysis! 100% agree with you on that the state of the world today means that many of us have a profound yearning for hope, even without really realising it. The cynical would say that’s just nostalgia. I genuinely believe it is something more powerful, even more primal. ❤️🚀
Thank you! I think people are searching for answers and often that uncertainly leads to nostalgia, which can either be used to turn people against each other or channeled towards progress ✌
Didn't even think about that! Lessens the impact a bit when the title is right underneath the video on RUclips, but I can definitely imagine in a theatre it would be striking.
You forgot "Superman Returns" which borrowed the theme and more. Other than that, perfect analysis. I also like the fact your a classical musician, seeing things in a perspective the average screenwriter doesn't. ♥
John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, he sent his one and only son so that whoever believes in him won't die, but have eternal life." Jesus does love you, and you can always turn to him and he'll take care of you during tough times, God bless yall, peace out ✝️🙏🏻
We created a video discussing the trailer music and it possibly incorporating Krypto’s whistle. What do you think? ruclips.net/user/shorts8nMozrYHWU4?si=0vAyKe7dk-nfpV-O
Correction..the Willaims theme has been inseparable from Reeve's Superman. I've been a Superman fan for for 48 years..and I think the Zimmer MOS score is far better..and it didn't have any of the Williams theme in it..at all.. And there was nothing cynical in Snyders Superman movies. The general audience liked those movies. And Man of Steel wasn't dark..previous versions were just extremely light..Which many Superman comics are not. Snyders take on Superman was so optimistic that it helped many people overcome depression and suicilal thoughts .
“The general audience liked those films”. Come on, that clearly wasn’t the case. MoS did okay but not amazingly well and BvS massively underperformed. You can say that $875 million is good but it’s really not for the first feature film starring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Not when movies like Aquaman, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther made over a billion dollars.
There is SO much that Snyder's vision gets wrong about the character and his background. The way Pa Kent dies in MoS for example, completely subverts what made Reeves' Superman feel so human and relatable.

The film title isn’t even in the teaser trailer.
And it doesn’t need to be.
Felt truly confident in what it was showing us. Loved that detail.

Off topic but your lighting is some of the best I've seen on youtube in quite a while.
Haha thanks so much!
First Time here. I enjoyed your analysis that was music-centric and looked at all the aspects of the production underlying the trailer!
You forgot "Superman Returns" which borrowed the theme and more. Other than that, perfect analysis. I also like the fact your a classical musician, seeing things in a perspective the average screenwriter doesn't. ♥
Thank you. Really. Thank you.
You are so good looking it hurts... Great reaction
Well shit man you did a SUPERJob
On the theme for Superman 1976
Christopher Reeve 💪👏👏.
The electric guitar theme reminds me of Joe Satriani.
Good comparison, Joe Satriani's sound is so clean and pure!

I thought the Zimmer MOS score was kind of lifeless. Not fun. Superman is fun. That's why kids read the comics. It's not all about 'gravitas'.
Man of steel did not have a good score in my opinion. Furthermore Man of Steel had mixed reviews and modest box office success…
No
It did not😂😂
You know not what you are talking about
