Tia, you’re the sweetest for doing the Tia for Scale despite your anxiety but don’t ever feel like doing so is more important than your stress levels. First and foremost, we’re here to share in the joy you and Cheveyo have in exploring the world. (Though Tia for Scale is my favorite…right next to finding Big Things and Cheveyo’s sigh whenever you’re able to sneak one into the itinerary). 😃

Wow! Watching Tia's heart-rate skyrocket in crowds
independently validated her expressions of anxiety.
    It's not that I didn't believe her.
It just shows that she has no control over the phenomenon.
Big Hugs to you, Tia! [Look after her, Cheveyo].

Anxiety can be really debilitating. Cheveyo is so understanding and supportive. The thing is Tia, people likely only notice you because you are pretty 😊...so that's not so bad.

I think I just about ruptured something when I saw Tia's "Gold". Sorry sweet lady but that was floaty and, therefore, Mica chips. Not even "fools gold". Not saying gold wasn't in that there stream but it would be much lower down in the sand as it is heavy. Real gold of the episode was that beautiful scenery you were immersed in. Really nice.

That drone shot after the mug of wine moment :) looks amazing! It doesn’t even look real. It almost looks entirely CGI:) Captures the “idyllic” scene perfectly. And the “green” and the “lush”. :) I like how Tia is still inside the van, cause it feels like the drone shot is almost just another perspective of that previous moment. But also because it ends up feeling less posed for. Like if u Tia were just standing beside Cheveyo outside the van. Feels like the drone is actually just capturing a moment rather than creating it :) Looks really cool. The way Cheveyo is smiling as the drone is pulling away is kinda funny too because it looks almost like he knows what that shot is capturing and is getting a kick out of it lol. The whole way that whole scene plays out is super engaging. From the moment Tia is backing up the van, the playful moment at the window, the bottle of wine purchase fail, or not fail as Cheveyo contends, the mug of cheap wine moment, plus talking about how amazing of a view it is, and then ending that scene with SHOWING it. Very cool sequence :) Tia you should make that drone shot one of the giveaway postcards. And please save me one :)

Tia, I too have the same anxiety. I bought an apple watch about a year ago and it tells me the same when i'm standing in a queue, 120 to 140 bpm. I've become so accustomed to being anxious that it is normal life to me. And it has been good to have my watch tell me when it's happening, because it is helping me learn exactly when and what causes anxiety spikes. Something I don't think people realise is that it is not a conscious anxiety, its a fight or flight response. You're not thinking about something consciously that produces the anxiety.

MIca, as others have said before me. My hometown in Montana has streams and soil full of that too. Vermiculite is cool stuff, unfortunately the mine in Libby pulled out the bad kind with asbestos fibers in it and now many of us have asbestos related diseases. But you are seeing the beautiful safe kind, adding sparkle to an already beautiful place.

Suggestion for australia return. You said finish lap which to me would mean mainly northern west australia. Suggesting sydney, blue mountains, dubbo, into queensland and then via mount isa to broome. Youd see more of the bush and not have to retrace much. Just an idea if you got plenty time. Otherwise i suggest you also fly to tasmania and check it out.... tasmania is awesome

@@sodrav theres very little greenery in WA and what is there will burn. Its a fact, haven't you seen that truck carting an old growth forest trunk down the middle of hobart? It was enormous. If you try to stop them thats what they'll do until theres nothing left. We also have the worst record for loss of animal species in a 200 year period. Bugger the wild life and our indigenous, they'll keep cutting it down or digging it up and shipping it out. That's what our economy relies on. Sorry to get political on here but its a sad fact.

Fresh fish from that “gold” speckled river would have been nice! Gold flakes? Probably mica particles. Mica isn’t edible but when ground up into a fine powder, it’s often used in makeup such as eye shadows and blushes.

So after watching this video it's easier for me to understand why people say Australia reminds them of California, there were quite a few scenes there where if I didn't know better I could be convinced you were in Australia. It's great I've never seen this side of the USA before so thank you both.
Fun fact when I was young some states in Australia had double yellow lines in the middle of the road, not any more (cost cutting, I guess when you have enough km of road the difference in price between white and yellow paint makes a difference)

What you said about California I suspect is pretty hard to grasp for those that haven’t been until you see it in perspective - you can literally experience mountains with heavy snow, high desert, lush green forest, sandy beaches, and canyons all within an hours drive of major metropolitan cities. LA County alone would be formidable on the world stage in size of geography and GDP. Looking forward to Yosemite, and all that’s next. Cheers and safe travels.

I have very bad social anxiety, too. Even in rooms of just 8 people who are super supportive and positive. My limit used to be an hour of that but I've found that cannabis edibles for anxiety really help. They don't impair my ability to drive and they don't make me sleepy; they just put a buffer zone between me and my surroundings so I don't get overwhelmed. Since you're in CA where cannabis is legal, I suggest you find a gummy that works for you. I have high blood pressure already so taking something natural won't interfere with my Norvasc medication.

Do you have to pay for your grocery bags like in Australia? You should’ve bought some coleslaw dressing and make up some coleslaw. I love it.

My takeouts from this episode. 1). You had appropriate hiking footwear for at least some of it. 2) You should persevere with coffee in the moka pot. It is so much better than any other American coffee methods. 3). Most food choices in America. (And here in Australia) are not the healthiest. Just heavily processed “crapolla “. Oh and coffee ranking is expresso then moka then maybe French press at a pinch. All other methods make swill.

Sorry, I hate to be a pedant, but it's 'espresso' not 'expresso' - far too common a mistake (but then, the NZ coffee culture is better than Australia, lol! 😅😉) Feel free to take the piss right back (and probably no one other than from NZ and Aussie will understand that last sentence 😂)
