I worked in Engineering for a major automotive company for 27 years. We’ve taken apart a Tesla and a Lucid to check quality and performance. We would never use the same quality or manufacturing process as Tesla. We would be bankrupt in 7 years. Lucid’s quality and reliability is far superior to Tesla.
You pay for what you get.

lose 653 million in Q4 2023 and pay the CEo 379 million? paying for failure. reduce the CEO's pay for that year to 50 million and your company loss is only 332 million in Q4, looks better to me already, closer to profitablity. and the CEo is still making twice what Mary Barra makes.
It was shares, so the value goes up or down as stock performance.

Gotta hand it to Peter - he's arranged an unlimited bucket of Saudi money to keep the company rolling forever, and he's taking his insane salary and bonuses in CASH rather than stock. The company could eventually tank and he's got a big bag of money to last him the rest of his life.

You guys wanna really talk about the truth you need to have a completely different narrative. To begin with they have endless amounts of money through the PIF.
Lucid is building the infrastructure to build hundreds of thousands of cars a year. They already have pre-orders of at least 100,000 cars from the government government of Saudi Arabia where they built a plant in Jeddah.
How many cars can KSA buy to artificially keep the numbers looking good? And they look bad now...
@@MikesTropicalTech Millions of cars. Millions of cars each year. My first question is how did you like to see the Lucid police cruiser they had on show? They will make every car a car for government consumption, they will find a home for millions of cars.
This is about putting Saudi nationals to work as much as it can be about anything else.The plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia can build 155,000 cars in a year. These are high paying jobs for the domestic market.
They are going to do energy storage, a US military contract has already been awarded to use Lucid tech in military trucks and the list goes on and on. Lucid is not going to run out of money and they are fully backed. This is more than a single car company. The PIF has an agenda with Trillions of dollars to throw at it.

So Lucid did have their highest quarter, ok, clear. If you dont read the article, the fault is with the reader, not the writer.
I want all EV companies to succeed but this one worries me.
Authors are seldom the headline writers. Sometimes they're just sloppy or not reading deeply.

This video is stupid. Peter was paid to meet certain parameters in the company. Sales being down has a lot more factors like interest rates etc.

The real story is Lucid can’t sell their cars because there is no demand for suckers buying cars from a company that is going to go bankrupt.
Remember how much money tesla lost every quarter for the first several years.

@mike-2275 You are right for company like Fisker, but Lucid is the top dog in the game, not the sales yet but tech is by far better in many ways, I drove it tp believe it.

Lucid sure is a pretty car though. If it were only looks, I'd probably be in one.
The look is the least impressive part IMO, gotta drive it to appreciate how well can a car be engineered.

I wonder if you made such a video when headlines read Lucid is losing x100k per every car they sell, or when Elon lied Peter Rawlinson was not the chief engineer at Tesla.
Newspaper headlines have always been influential. It was Hearst headlines that got America riled up enough to get involved on the Spanish-American war. When the USS Maine blew up in Havana Harbor, Hearst's newspapers said it was an act of war by the Spanish. It was a boiler malfunction that was the cause according to the US Navy investigation. We didn't need to have a war.
The only things that came out of the "war", were the liberation of Cuba and the ) Philippines from Spain, but they were now both "part" of the USA. Until much later, when both were given their independence.
My son looks at me that way, and he has a brand new Y. To my knowledge, he has FSD but has not yet tried it.
I think Lucid is better than Tesla in every way.
when you say "perks" do you count hitching your horse to the Elon degeneracy wagon because that's your income stream?
Tesla FSD is at level 2...robotaxi is long way to go at level 5. you need much more to happen on the road standards and new regulations to be in place before robotaxi's are allowed in mass.
You believe the future of transport is EV's? There isn't enough electricity. The future is hybrids. Just look at the growth of hybrids v EV's to know I'm right. The customer decides. Stock tip: Suzuki. They have a partnership with Toyota and they rebadge each other's cars AND Suzuki has a presence in India.
