Thank you for the feedback! You are right, before installing the pads it is recommended to apply a high temperature grease, for the brakeususaly it is ceramic. A copper grease is the best to be applied to the hub before installing the brake disc. Best Regards, Autodoc
Nice clear video, but this is how a low end garage would change the parts (as fast as possible) not how a trained mechanic would do it. What is missing: 1. Compressing the piston: Haynes manual reports instances of the seals in the master cylinder blowing if you do this as in the video. They recommend opening the bleed valve when you do this( use tube into a container and nip the valve up immediately the piston is pushed back). This also prevents master cylinder reservoir overflow which is not mentioned 2. After disc removed.need to check the hub for rust etc. If not flat = run out and horrible vibration ( note, it's wise to check run out with new disc in place) 3. De-grease the new disc! 4. What, no cleaning of surfaces? 5. Nut lock on the caliper frame bolts (renault say replace the bolts with new) 6. Why no torque wrench?. 7. What, no copper grease? 8. Clean inspect +re-grease the sliding pins (renault say replace them with new) 9. Check and top up brake fluid This is basic stuff.
Jeremy Lister you can just do it like this, also you can do it according to the Haynes Manuel, trust me,either way make very little difference or no difference.

Nice vid, but, nothing was a struggle to get off ( no WD40 needed here ) and no cleaning of parts with wire brush and no copper grease whatsoever. Those pads will squeal like a pig. I realise you have to compress these vids and they are guidelines, therefore, a little disclaimer would be nice as to add some grease to the back of the pads and a general clean of the area.
I have 0 mechanical understanding. And this video just made it even more confusing. Maybe I am just straight up thick? I wouldn't know where to start. What tools? What were the things you were removing.. do they get put back? Eh?

Great video, thanks a lot.
Some mechanics use copper grease on movement parts of the break pad and you did not.
It is not needed after all?

Good work.
It's a No. 7 ( H7) not six. Bought a set of 4,6,8,10 and had to go out again for a 7!!!
I need to do this, looks a nice and easy job, is it the same for the MK3 Megane?
Thank you for the feedback! Yes, the procedure is the same on MK3 Megane. Best regards, Autodoc.

You are absolutely right. This video is informative and shows main works that are carried out.
My thought exactly
Apart from thread-lock great... he did compress the piston using a screwdriver as a lever ( A mastic skeleton gun is ok too)

@@qifengzhou3654 Should have check wheel nuts too, as wheel was still being drawn on with the 4 bolt? That means the other three are probably loose.
Loosen brake fluid cap ?
Thank you for your comment!
It is not always necessary, but we will consider your comment.
