This is the video that turned me into a Chun Li user....I actually performed that last chun li combo in a tournament at an Anime Convention taking a match with it, and everybody was like, "WTF.."
I must tell you, I was impressed by the person who used Chun-Li. That person held his/her own well against Ken. The combo at the end, summed it all. Kudos to whom ever was Chun-Li
as far as I know: old temple at night - Ryu drive in at night - Ken street market - Chun Li swamp - Blanka snowy traintracks - Zangief wrestling arena - El Fuerte that's it
Hey "cooler than thou"... Chun-Li's legs have inspired me since high school. Which is why they are so fantastic 10 years later. They don't look like hers, they are too bulky for real life, but her legs are mighty fine!
I just bought the street fighter 4 game through steam engine. Weekend sale for 19.99. The controller i am using to play this game is very accomodating and looks exactly like a ps3 controller. i am very satisfied with both both purchases, the controller and the game :)
Thing is, the person would have to do -Down Back- to -Up Back- to do the Ex spinning birdkick, and right when the move is executed, they would have to move the stick to the -back -position. therefore, he keeps the back charge the entire time, and is able to execute the Hosenka
Not exactly. The question was answered a few times in these comments already. The EX bird kick can be performed by charging down-back and executed at up-back. Doing it that way, you'll still be maintaining your back charge, which is presumably how Chun Li pulled off her Ultra so fast. That's what I call the ABC method: Always Be Charging
That was pretty impressive. Chun Li was nasty. And Ken made good use of the essence interrupts. Neither fighter was really showboating (I lose matches because of that). They both just wanted to win. Great finale.
Chun-li has a lot of charging special moves. i dont know how this chun-li player is able to pull them off so fast. his or her timing must be spot on. props to him.
Its not that they more accessible to noobs but that they made it for a larger audience. The studio knew that SF4 would already have a pretty large fan base. By extending its arms to those who may not have tried the game, or have just been turned off by it due to the sheer amount of really good, aggressive players that have been playing for ages, allows them generate an even larger fan base. This strategy also works to capture those who did not play in the day s of SF2 and SF2Turbo.
Amazing Chun! I'm still a newbie to this game and right now I would never be able to pull off a combo like that under so much pressure. They were 2-2 and both low health...5 stars!
Do an ex dragon punch then a focus attack right after hit one or two(either one for diff combos), then do a dash to cancel the fa and then put whatever you want after that. That Chun-Li player is my new hero.
You can do the bird kick by charging back+down to back+up, thus maintaining your back charge for the ultra or other moves. Works awesome with Balrog's headbutt too.
While u execute the EX SBK, keep charging back, and when ur enemy is in the air falling down just finish him with ultra. I did that just 1 time online, but the ultra usually doesnt hit at all when doing this. Great match
Exactly, I think IAmKingHomey just didn't really understand what was happening here. The EX-SBK in to ultra was a pretty-much guaranteed way to finish the match. The only other option to finish without drawing out the match and losing momentum would be to chip with another EX. And you still have a chance of eating an ultra if not careful
Just a quick question, not trying to be critical on this point, but is Alpha 3 (and all its variations mainly Max on PSP for me) a balanced Street Fighter? I just heeard from a friend that it's a bit unbalanced so I just wanted to know.
For the second question, you basially have to hold down immediately after you jump. Gotta think ahead for charge moves. And for the focus cancel, if you dash before you release the attack buttons you'll dash without attacking. Takes a bit of timing to cancel moves like that, but nothing some practice can't fix
Chun Li is honestly well rounded enough to handle most of the cast pretty well. All things considered she actually deals pretty good damage and she has lots of useful tools, the only way she really suffers is her low health. It's too bad that such a technically deep character can be so outmatched by a character with basic gameplay like Sagat.
@SuperPokemon9000 Both SF4 and the updated Super Street Fighter 4 are on PS3 and 360. Also SSF4 is on 3DS. Also again there's another update called Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition on the way.
A little bit of an overkill if you ask me. First hit finishes, then there's the rest of the combo, even the cinematic shit. I was like "DAYAMN! She must have been pissed that he came back on her!"
@beybladestar the command for ex spinning bird kick is down charge up then 2 kicks, and hosenka with left charge, right, left right then 3 kicks, so the diagonal charging serves as dual charge for these 2 attacks? if yes, well thats very reliable
Just wondering, chun li doing a quick stand following by a ex spinning bird kick. How do he charge down when he have to double tap down for the quick stand or is there an other way to do a quick stand?
The double quarter circle specials are harder to land because the game reads the input as a dragon-punch motion if you don't hit it exactly... That's why I only played charge characters before I got my stick in. Go to trial mode and practice the moves until you get through at least level 3 then go beat arcade mode a few times. Disclaimer: I'm less than good, that's why I stick with a character that relies on god-like pokes and mind games... i.e. Bison.
It took awhile for me to get into this game. I even got Blazblue CT cause I thought SF4 was crappy hehe. But then I spend like 3 days playing and got into the zone playing cammy, and now I think I really like the game. looking forward to getting Tekken 6 and eventually Super Street Fighter 4 when it comes out.
man, I would for sure pick street fighter 4 up. I don't now about you, but sf4 is great because this game has no flaws. the fights are in a high speed, you can do many combos, and is a game you can practice to be very good. I don't know abou mk vs dc
Do you get that good from practice or experience? Cause i just got into playing street fighter the RIGHT way. i played it when i was younger and played cheap (you know using trips and button mashing) i really wasnt planning on getting this game but my brother got it for me and i gotta say ive been playin it ever since. So far i consider myself of high beginner level. And im using Chun li, and Sakura. Started out using Ken but thought that he was for noobs that wanted cheap wins.
Assumed? Nope. I didn't take into consideration whether you know the method or not. Hell, I didn't know it til I read these comments. And clearly Oapples didn't... so I elaborated on your answer so that he'll spend minutes figuring it out in training mode as opposed to hours.
Chun-Li is the strongest and toughest woman in the world. She is so cute, disciplined and sexy. She is the BEST chinese fighter. Also, she is the most aggressive fighter than any other female fighter in the videogame.
Well, to get the full twelve hits you MUST be more towards the corner and you start in with a aerial double FP (she hits twice), then once you hit the ground hold back and hit MK twice. The second kick will launch them into the air, as soon as that happens hit down and then up plus MK real quick. She'll hit them about three times with a Tenshokyaku and that will launch them even higher. Charge down and then hit up and use an EX Spinning Bird Kick. If timed right it should all make up 12 hits.
its about time i saw some people FULY repressenting chunni! and all her cool combos! shes a great character, ken did the right thingwith sabotaging her air combos, but the super at the end pretty much showed you who played better.
I would say its practice and experience. I do agree with u on the ken users. Normally they are noobs from my experience, but some are pretty good with him
that is how u use chun li shit that was a good fight.... u kno it is wen ur sittin at ur computer desk goin "oooohhhhh" and every one looks at u weird... lol
Wow! My hat's off to the Chun Li player! I can *NEVER* chain her ultra into the combos with any sort of consistency at all. That motion is just too difficult on that PS3 controller for me though I have a better time doing it with that than the XBox version.
Both players are very good. You can see clearly, that both of them know how to play their characters. Yes, the combo at the end of the vid is nice, but only recommended in corner or (like here) if the enemy ist as good as dead.
This is the video that turned me into a Chun Li user....I actually performed that last chun li combo in a tournament at an Anime Convention taking a match with it, and everybody was like, "WTF.."
same here
That's the first time I've SEEN that ending combo O.o
Pretty good match, both fighters we pretty evenly matched there.
Awesome video. Two of my favorite SF characters, with my more favorite winning with a perfect finisher to the match. Love it~
That..was one hell of a sexy ending o___o
Amazing last combo!!!! How did you even dream of that being possible. My salute to you sir.
I must tell you, I was impressed by the person who used Chun-Li. That person held his/her own well against Ken. The combo at the end, summed it all. Kudos to whom ever was Chun-Li
it's true, i'm in love with chun-li, her legs, the player's skills and notably that last combo that finished ken for good. love the overkill.
Daaaaaaaaaaamn, that Chun obviously played better but the very last combo from Chun was just amazing! Props to the player.
That was so sudden and so lovely. But the ending just dropped my jaw
as far as I know:
old temple at night - Ryu
drive in at night - Ken
street market - Chun Li
swamp - Blanka
snowy traintracks - Zangief
wrestling arena - El Fuerte
that's it
Goddamn that last combo was amazing. Blew me away! Thumbs up to both players!
Double heavy jumping punch to counter the EX, into EX spinning bird, to Ultra!?
Are u shitting me!!! That was great!
holy shit ... that last chun li combo made me jizz my pants XD
Hey "cooler than thou"... Chun-Li's legs have inspired me since high school. Which is why they are so fantastic 10 years later. They don't look like hers, they are too bulky for real life, but her legs are mighty fine!
Question. To do the ex spin bird kick then her ultra, did you have to charge twice or did you cancel the first move?
holy fuck that Chun Li air throw while Ken was doing the hurricane kick was siiiiiiiiiick
I just bought the street fighter 4 game through steam engine. Weekend sale for 19.99. The controller i am using to play this game is very accomodating and looks exactly like a ps3 controller. i am very satisfied with both both purchases, the controller and the game :)

that chun li was insane!!!!!!!! loved the finish
That was pretty impressive. Chun Li was nasty. And Ken made good use of the essence interrupts. Neither fighter was really showboating (I lose matches because of that). They both just wanted to win. Great finale.
Whoa love the comeback in the end. & Chun-Li's dress is so pretty :D
Chun-li has a lot of charging special moves. i dont know how this chun-li player is able to pull them off so fast. his or her timing must be spot on. props to him.

this is gonna be one of the best games of 2009! ill be picking up the PC version!
Amazing Chun! I'm still a newbie to this game and right now I would never be able to pull off a combo like that under so much pressure. They were 2-2 and both low health...5 stars!
The last part (and combo) was awesome!!!!
Do an ex dragon punch then a focus attack right after hit one or two(either one for diff combos), then do a dash to cancel the fa and then put whatever you want after that.
That Chun-Li player is my new hero.
damn that was an insane combo...awesome battle
that ending was sweet! i need to try that out
You can do the bird kick by charging back+down to back+up, thus maintaining your back charge for the ultra or other moves. Works awesome with Balrog's headbutt too.
Chun-Li Show!!! She is the true strongest woman in the world.
While u execute the EX SBK, keep charging back, and when ur enemy is in the air falling down just finish him with ultra. I did that just 1 time online, but the ultra usually doesnt hit at all when doing this.
Great match
Very nice match.
BTW do the stages even belong to certain characters?
that is absolutely amazing match. Tbh im still mastering chun li, she is so hard to master but she is one fine fighter once you know how to use her.
I don't know...it's not clear how he charged it long enough though, it happened in a blink of an eye, so yeah... thanks for your input though.
Just a quick question, not trying to be critical on this point, but is Alpha 3 (and all its variations mainly Max on PSP for me) a balanced Street Fighter? I just heeard from a friend that it's a bit unbalanced so I just wanted to know.

the final round was badass i cant wait 2 own this
chun-li's final combo was EPIC
Chun li-this guy who played as her has awesome timing...
Love it !!!
Those wake up EX spinning bird kicks are lethal. Seems like everyone gets hit with them every time, including me. :/
Whoowee, first time seeing Chun-Li in that dress.
Haha, great match. After watching this, playing online is too dangerous for me.
@SuperPokemon9000 Both SF4 and the updated Super Street Fighter 4 are on PS3 and 360. Also SSF4 is on 3DS. Also again there's another update called Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition on the way.

amazing
the Chun-Li player was niiiice...and the ken player known great combo skills, would luv to play them

that ending came out of nowhere...scary chun li player.
amazing finish dude !
Wrong about what? As you can see from this reply thread, it'll be really difficult to see what I am "wrong" about.
dude that ending combo was raw
can u still maintain the charge even you punched, kicked or after youve done a special move?? please help me..
The combo at the end... O.O
how did you charge the hosenka right after the spinning bird kick?? pls
So is everyone else who's new to the game.
Seriously, I fought 36 Kens in a row online. IN A ROW!
awesome! first time i see a chun-li master! nice legs from chun-li by the way.
man, I would for sure pick street fighter 4 up. I don't now about you, but sf4 is great because this game has no flaws. the fights are in a high speed, you can do many combos, and is a game you can practice to be very good. I don't know abou mk vs dc

Damn that was a kick ass match. Chun Li whipped dat ass.
Assumed? Nope. I didn't take into consideration whether you know the method or not. Hell, I didn't know it til I read these comments. And clearly Oapples didn't... so I elaborated on your answer so that he'll spend minutes figuring it out in training mode as opposed to hours.
woooow at the end...how did chunli squeeze in that ultra...was that pre charging, cuz she jus did the ex sbk b4 that? Soooo clutch!
Great fight! amazing finish! 5stars
probably the best finish ever...excpet for daigo's amazing comeback
Love the final combo! -3
Chun-Li is the strongest and toughest woman in the world. She is so cute, disciplined and sexy. She is the BEST chinese fighter. Also, she is the most aggressive fighter than any other female fighter in the videogame.
Yes, you can charge while in the air or doing another special.
Well, to get the full twelve hits you MUST be more towards the corner and you start in with a aerial double FP (she hits twice), then once you hit the ground hold back and hit MK twice. that was a very impressive ending!
i like how at 1:39 she just walks up and throws him, no resistance
What grace in the final combo.
holy shit i need to change my pants now after seeing that combo at end 0.o
lo0l i love the move hazanshu =D its so awesome
The end was too nasty. Good fight.
At 1:01, how did that hit him? I also just noticed that the back dash has invincible frames.
I will probably never have enough skill to pull off that awsome finish.......
its about time i saw some people FULY repressenting chunni! and all her cool combos! shes a great character, ken did the right thingwith sabotaging her air combos, but the super at the end pretty much showed you who played better.
the last combo is great
big words my friend. Who's your character?
that chun li player was pretty awesome
That's what I was saying... But in a clear, non-regurgitated way.
Even so, you can't deny that Viper is very strong in this game.
wow sweet ending.
I'm horrible at charge move characters, but chunli is the exception for me
@beybladestar uhm thanks for that, so it means you can charge while in air??
I would say its practice and experience. I do agree with u on the ken users. Normally they are noobs from my experience, but some are pretty good with him
that final match was awesome! go Chun-Li!
Man what a crazy awesome ultra.
so I only have to charge once right??
and after the first triple kick, don't i have to go back down then forward to begin the ultra?
I don't care what the critics say. Violence is a beautiful thing.
Awesome finish!!!
Ending was epic. Chun and Sakura are the bomb
that is how u use chun li shit that was a good fight.... u kno it is wen ur sittin at ur computer desk goin "oooohhhhh" and every one looks at u weird... lol
Wow! My hat's off to the Chun Li player! I can *NEVER* chain her ultra into the combos with any sort of consistency at all. That motion is just too difficult on that PS3 controller for me though I have a better time doing it with that than the XBox version.

Yes, the combo at the end of the vid is nice, but only recommended in corner or (like here) if the enemy ist as good as dead.
dam.. he finished it off hella badass... and he timed it correctly... the ultra hit him just in time.. although ken was pretty high in the air still
