What fix worked for you?
Installing the latest windows updates and Updating .net framework version from Microsoft website worked for me.

Windows search "Apps & features", then look for "Microsoft 365 Apps" and click on Modify. This fixed my issue
Does this method also work with 0xc000007b?
Worked for me thanks! There were 4 updates installed yesterday. The first one I uninstalled (a security update) fixed the problem and Office 2016 is running again thank goodness!

Hey I was just looking for somewhere to get a response from you. My question is, ive been looking to put a GTX 1050 Ti into my prebuilt machine. I have read that it does not need any extra external power from the Power Supply?! I have a 180 Watt power supply and was wondering if you think that everything would be fine if i put in a GTX 1050 Ti? Thank you

Thanks it worked very well, I couldn't open any office app. I went on uninstall programms, clicked on "change" and did a quick repair. Simple :)

Simple updating fixed the error with Office 2019 for me. I am running 1903 version and version 2004 is not compatible with my device which is still not quite ready for this version update.
I think second fix worked for me for office apps, very helpful. Thanks.

Oh, I remember that when I wanted to open a game, but I scanned with Malwarebytes and it was an virus.

Derek Ridgway i had that exact same problem i fixed it by running windows media creation tool
you can fix it by going to C:/Windows/Logs/CBS/cbs.log and just run it and it shall work
I had this specific error last week with Office Pro Plus 2016, had to uninstall, clean remaining Windows Office instances with a Windows tool and then install it fresh.
Office is a common problem for this error. Mine was on Office 2019
nothing works,I did literally every step. some tutorial asked to install some program to resolve this problem but even the program itself could'nt be launched because of 0xc0000142. I even cant uninstall any application as the error code will appear again. I think rebooting my pc to factory reset is the only option now :(
I randomly had this appear in the middle of playing Minecraft... it was an adobe related error with that number. But I didn't open/have adobe open? Should I be concerned? I uninstalled adobe after this as barely use it anyway. But why would it randomly occur?

If you are using cirix receiver app in your system, then that's what causing the issue. Entry Protect Inject Service by Citrix needs to be disabled and restart the system. Looks like the issue started for me after the latest update of citrix receiver app.

Have you ever come across an error code - 0x80070005? I believe I got this code after a 10 update many months ago. I have checked everything online to no avail. This error code shows up when I do a System Restore and System Restore could not restore, this process takes forever and I have given up. The only mention I could find online was that this error code is for Windows 10 updates failing. Any ideas for a rix for a broken System Restore? Thanks for reading

I have the same error box that shows 90% of the time , but only when I shut it down. But every things starts fine.
It matched up until I got to "Windows" then my computer shows none of the things yours does. Damn! ........... Then it did work! Here's why. Instead of clicking on the arrow to the left of the words, I clicked on the word itself, and voila. Very strange that it would be differeent when I got to "Windows" right at the end of the fix. Anyway, that wasn't the problem (it was set at "O"), but I went to the Update area and updated, restarted, and now I can open my Word docs. Hell on earth!
I installed Electronic Workbanch and this error appear, just in Electronic Workbanch.
In the start menu folder there should be an app recovery shortcut. Just cleared cache and works now.

I watched 6 videos in the past three hours about how to fix this... Not one of them said check for system updates. Looking at the like to dislike ratio on this video compared to those videos is very telling. Often the solution is the most simple of them all - other than off and on again as that is just the default manoeuvre at this point
