Yeeeeaaaaaah maaaaaaannnnn!!! That's what "they" don't understand!!!! True vehicle DIY'ers have that "special" relationship we have with our vehicles!!! I tip my hat to you sir😎
Great work, your are literally the only reason I’m on RUclips, I’ve been checking the channel every couple of days, this is just a reminder that are you 3 weeks behind on the ultimate mods guide for the 63’s 😢 thanks for all of you do and please don’t forget I’m still waiting, see you in a couple more days 🫡 I’ll most likely rewatch the same video
Man, it would be totally awesome if you'll do this for a living instead of for pennies a month. Anyway, just started editing that video last week, couple more hours of work to go
Finally you are back with a new W212 Video!!! I love your Style and your Videos! Keep it coming! Much love to you and your family!!! Thank you for the work and helping the Community! ❤ :)
You know what would be awesome? ... to hear from you, what are the things that are a must have for this car, in regards of features... like assistance systems etc. ... would be a cool guide for people who want to buy this Car... to hear you opponion about must haves and nice to have... and maybe better not to have/choose.. what are the things that can be coded afterwards or swapped changed after buying the car, like your trim/light video. Thank you so much! :)
Another great video. As a viewer from England, I was surprised to see the Union flag!🇬🇧 W212 E63 is a great car, wish mine was AWD there abit of a handful RWD only.
Thanks, my wife's family is from Guernsey! AWD is pretty awesome. As good as a driver as I like to think I am, expensive, 600+ hp cars are not quite comfortable to get squirrely with if you only have rear wheel drive Thanks for watching
New to the channel. Wow the attn to detail, the editing, the camera placements. This is A+ production for a small channel. Whoever you are that runs this: Great Job! Subscribed. The 355 engine out is amazing as well. This is awesome!
Love your Videos, really appreciate the work you put in! As Im searching for an e63 wagon your content is really really helpful! As you Seem to be the Right guy to ask: Ive read in some Forums that its recommended to buy the e63 from 2015 or later as there have been some fixes regarding the Timing Chain. Do you agree that you should prefer buying more recent Models or what would you say are the Most important things too Look out for when buying an W/S212 to keep. Thank for your help!
Can you do a video on how you painted your calipers? I have everything I need to do the 390 upgrade but am hesitant because I want to paint my calipers at the same time
No, I didn't make a video on the paint. Essentially remove them, cap off the brake lines, thoroughly clean, removing all dust and grime Spend a couple hours scuffing the paint very evenly, I think I used 320 grit and then down to 800 grit I did three coats of the Honda paint, then I installed the decals and then two coats clear. I used all PPG paints with a hplv gun. Definitely tedious, but absolutely worth it. You will never get the same result with a rattle can
Hello You can tell us more about the KW springs. When replacing the springs in the front, do you need to change something in the back, or is it programmatically understated?
Absolutely fantastic videos! You are a true resource for AMG enthusiasts everywhere. Curious of a few items. The differential fluid for MB AMG is Castrol 75w-140. The all synthetic mobil1 is very very similar specs. Any thoughts? Also how has your Everstart battery been? I am debating between that the interstate and the odyssey. Thank you for all the w212 insights!
Hi man, realy lovely videos you have. Im planning to buy an E63s 2015 sedan. Do you know about the chain of the engine need to be changed at a specific mile stand ? Or something else what i need to watch out for ? Regards
Hey I came from your video « how to install brabus diffuser/tail pipe » and I know it’s not related to this video but I absolutely had to get an answer since even with your video i’m not able to install them is there somewhere I can contact you to get more explication and understand how to install them? Thanks
Yes, I changed it in the engine mount video. The axle has to come out. However, there is and easier way if you pump the fluid back into the drain hole.
Hey brother. Love the channel. Do you still have the old rims? Would you wanna sell them? I have a 2014 e63 and the cracks are real…brutal. Let me know. Thanks
Hi Mr. Exotic. My other account got hacked so I asked Google to delete it. I commented on the latest video about tires for your truck. So, Amazon says the OEM rotors listed on your E63s pad and rotor replacement video won't fit. The OE Brembo's are currently not on a massive sale but ill keep looking. Wanted to check with ya before I proceed getting them. Also, in the video(brake upgrade), your buddy made you custom spacers for the 390mm upgrade you did. Does the friend still make em? If they do i can just get the 390's and put those on for their benefits. PS didn't find the brackets you used. Lastly, cam shaft position sensor question, if the wicking from the sensor have begun (replacing those soon, parts already bought) and I have sprayed down the ECU with electric cleaner to just in case, what would you recommend as to do as well? I did find a little oil in the ECU harness and got concerned. Thank you sir for reading and replying. Have a blessed day and stay safe from the hurricane!
All three of those brake rotors in the description of the 390 video will work with an E63. Obviously Amazon parts compatibility checker doesn't know you're using $390 mm rotors it also doesn't cross reference the 360 two-piece rotor as a factory did not use a two-piece rotor. There is a guy on the MB world forum that is selling the spacers if you're going to use the 390 rotors. I cannot provide them. The important things that you stop the flow of oil in the harness. So replacing the cam sensors is the most critical, however if you did find oil up near your ecu, I would just periodically clean the harness plug at the ECU every few weeks until it dries up.
@@ExoticCarDIY Thanks for reaching back. I'll pass by the MB Forum and ask around for the guy. I will also proceed to get the 390 mm, Porsche bolts and brackets. On the harness I will do that as soon as I pass by the yard. I have been cleaning the connection periodically and will keep doing so following the advice given. Thanks again Mr Exotic.
You forgot to tell them (maybe intentionally) crank sensor which is the most important one that fails in w212 with M157 engines every 2 years . a maintenance item that’s 10 out of 10 as far as job difficulty, and requires the entire exhaust system to come out and you’d need 3 people for it and dealer charges $2400 to change that $35 dollar plastic sensor that seats in the valley back of the engine. I had to change that two times in the span of 5 years of owner ship. Main reason I dumped M157 engined W212
I've had three different n157 powered vehicles for over 5 years. I'm active on the forum in the Facebook groups nearly every day. I have several close friends that are Mercedes technicians. I've never once heard about an issue of the crank position sensor. I did a search and there were no hits whatsoever about the correct position sensor, my technician to friends say they've never heard about an issue with that sensor, and lastly I made a post a few days ago asking if anybody else had heard or seen or experienced an issue with the crank position sensor and everyone said they had not. I'm sorry you encountered that problem, sounds like you were just an unlucky owner
@@ExoticCarDIY I'm not a dealer or exotic car collector like you, I daily my cars, and I always have one car to drive, if you have 6 cars and you consider 5 year of ownership to go to your garage and look at your cars and detail and polish them , that's different buddy, like I said most of us make huge payment on these cars and drive them day in day out, like crazy, Now I emphasize this again, if you drive this cars (I bet you don't because you don't have active warranty)everyday like down shift from 7 to third for slowing down, that $35 plastic crank position sensor that seats in between the exhaust headers of left and right bank would melt down like a candle, and without notice would leave you stranded at the target parking lot when you come back with your groceries.$2400 later plus $35.00 for part your good to go for another two and half year (of real driving) Notice where BMW installs its crank sensor, right outside of bell housing on the street side, my 5 year old can replace it in less than 5 minutes faster you can finish a can of soda, but he never have to because its way away of the inferno and I been driving My M car the same way like most of the people who buy these cars.by the way your asking opinion of Mercedes technicians about an engine that has been 12-13 years out of production.

I would suggest adding coil pack to the spark plug part. Worth replacing all at 60k. Mine failed at 55k for cylinder 1

Hello
You can tell us more about the KW springs. When replacing the springs in the front, do you need to change something in the back, or is it programmatically understated?
You will need lowering links for the rear. The kw kit includes them, the h&r does not, so you'll have to buy them off eBay
Great guide thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!

Ever start battery has been great, I have one in all of my cars. As for the fluid, as long as it carries the Mercedes-Benz spec it should be fine,
I think Every benz effect by the rusty subframe need to be check on the brake lines too, you forgot to mention the front differential fluid service

Does changing the battery on these cars require any coding through the OBD? I know some BMWs need the battery coded to the car after replacement.

Yes, I changed it in the engine mount video.

Should link with 603m tech in NH
Hi bud are you looking to do any more content on the E63?
Suggestions?
@ExoticCarDIY you've pretty much done what I want to do to mine. But just enjoy your content maybe a dyno day?
How do you reset service warning ?
Check out the oil change video, it's in there
Love ❤

Yes, Its in the spark plug video. My cylinders walls are in excellent shape.
Bro, if you ever decide to sell your Mercedes. Hit me up. I will buy it from you!!!

This cam sensor things really bothers me. How is this STILL a problem with MB. I remember about oil leaking into the harness on the 126 series.
Agree, sucks. But I'd rather replace $30 cam sensors compared to a BMW rod bearings
@@ExoticCarDIY There is that I suppose.
