I didn't explain why I buffed down the outer diameter of 2 old bearings that I use for the driver and the centring tool. its so you can use the press tool to also remove the old bearings, and not have it sticking in the bore as you push the old bearing out. the other old bearing that is buffed down is so you can use it as the centering tool without it sticking in the block.
Awesome vid ,,,I have a 05 LQ9 I see you have the Dura bond and Mahle bearings ,Which is the better of the 2 ,,And BTW can you or are you reusing the main and rod bolts on this build ?
I think the Dura bond and Mahle are the same company... but im I don't think it matters. these bearings are way better than the OEM GM bearings by a long shot. yes I am reusing the factory main and rod bolts. . just like most of us I'm limited by costs and I am working with a budget. I have future plans of a high dollar build..... but right now I'm building what I have and having a blast doing it.. thank you for liking the vid, this youtube thing is literally just me hanging in the garage and posting vids. I am using ARP head bolts, but that is as fancy as this build is getting.
@@rnmgarage9655 Thanks for the reply back I appreciate it and answering my question ...If you dont mind another question I was wondering if I can sneak my crank out without removing the pistons the reason why my LQ9 has a 100K on it and dont want to disturb the seat of the pistons and still has the crosshatch on the cylinders
