      Guitar for HIS Glory Thanks so much man! You and your tutorials have been a blessing to me over these couple years!

      Aww, thanks dude. And yours are to me! You have major chops, bro. Jerome talks of your talent.
      I'll be uploading one of this song soon as well. Gonna go a little more aggressive on it and see how it sounds. Hoping it sounds good!

      Guitar for HIS Glory I'm glad to have the skills to do what God wants to do through me. It's too fun, definitely one of my favorite things to do.
      Looking forward to your take on the songs!

    I've watched several tutorials on this song (since we're adding it to the setlist next weekend) and yours was by far the most helpful. After a couple hours of noodling around, I got it to "passable" level. I should be ready to go by rehearsal time. Really appreciate your efforts with this. You've helped me immensely - now let's go give Him glory!

      Thanks so much Jeff, I like making these in the hope that it just might be a blessing to someone out there. I'm glad it helped you out man. God bless man!

    Great play-through Joe. I love the tones you're getting through what I would consider more "budget-friendly" or "realistic" gear! No offense if any taken, but so many worship tutorials showcase multi-thousand dollar gear to get killer tones. You're doing it with what most church guitarists probably have, or could afford. Hats off man, keep it up!

      Thanks so much Paul! No offense taken. I've wanted to make guitar covers for years, and I was pretty excited when I figured out how to make them with these little nifty processing apps. I am always happy to get compliments on tone with the gear that I have! God bless

      Just curious what apps are you using to simplify capturing the audio and video and syncing?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  7 лет назад +3

      I use JamUp Pro. I record the guitar parts on the "Sampler" which allows me to save the recording, and then I put the tracks into my music. After that I put all the guitar tracks, the song, and video into iMovie and edit from there.
      It usually takes me about an hour to edit a video with two guitars. There isn't really any fine tuning features in the app. I have to use my fingers to drag and drop and it's not very accurate. I'm trying to find something else that can be a little more accurate.

    Great, Joe! I was settled on the Tele for my next guitar and now you come around with that Gretsch and such sweet tones...
    What’s your live setup, btw?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Thomas!
      Both great guitars. The Tele can play anything, it's super versatile. The Gretsch tops the Tele in anywhere from light drive to saturated stuff. AND it stays clear and articulate. I could not believe the overdriven tones I got out of it. If you have any questions about them or anything, let me know!
      I use these two guitars into Mzo.Effects Blue --- Mzo.Effects Ohm --- Mini Volume X --- Kemper Profiler

      Joe McDaniel Yeah man, that Gretsch sparkle high end sound is amazing. Loved it ever since Michael Chislett played his White Falcon with Hillsong United. I’ll be mostly leading worship in a smaller team with max 1 more electric and no acoustic guitar (because I’m usually leading on my acoustic). I love this wide kind of sound with just a low overdrive and a bit of reverb (see intro to your love never fails where Quilala plays his 72... hands down what I want my guitar to sound like when I lead).

    Great videos man. I want to start putting up guitar covers also. What do you use to record your video, and how did you split in into top and bottom?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  6 лет назад

      Thanks Nicholas! I just used my phone to record the video, and I used iMovie to edit and join the videos.

      Awesome. I'll have to try that. And how do you do audio, because i was thinking about going into my interface using pro tools, to get the good audio and then just line it up to the video. Is that something like you do?

    • @JoeMcDaniel
      @JoeMcDaniel  6 лет назад

      For all my videos up until the Praises cover, I used an iPhone app called JamUp for the tones and recording. I used an iRig 2 as an interface. I recorded the guitars, put them in the Music app, and then loaded the guitar tracks, and videos into iMovie and synced everything. So basically I used only my iPhone, haha!

    Dude, sounds really good! I'd love to know what kind of interface you use and what pedals/amps you have in your change on Jamup.

      Thanks Kristopher, sorry for the late reply!
      I use the iRig 2 and the built in Sampler in JamUp to record the guitars.
      Signal chain looks something like this...
      Noise Gate > Red Comp -> Tube Drive -> Black Duo -> Digital Delay -> Reverb (Hall)
      Also I didn't use the Tube Drive for the Gretsch, I just turned the amp up for the "breakup"
