Your accounting and planning skills are commendable. Keeping such a good eye on expenses is very sensible as the costs can rise unwittingly. Setting a budget helps keeps within boundaries. This is, like your previous costings video(s) is very accurate and revealing. I like how you itemise and convert to the various currencies. Most helpful. Well done Alice. This surely will help others get an idea of costs when planning their journeys. Keep up the good work.👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
I have to budget for all my trips, otherwise, I simply let the costs get out of control, which isn't good. With rising costs in all areas of travel, I need to see just where my higher costs are and how I can bring them down a little. Not always easy but I have a plan, which will be partly revealed in next week's video.
So interesting to see the planning and financial commitments you need to bring us the brilliant content. If only you got paid for the hours editing and adding content. Keep up the great channel content.
Thank you Clive. Indeed if I was paid at minimum wage for the hours I put in creating my content, then I would be living in a beach front condo somewhere warm! Alas, this is not the case and earn just a few pence per day!
If I may ask, how do you come up with a specific budget per trip? I always assume that things will cost much more than planned, but never know how to rein in the expenses while still keeping the travel enjoyable.
The original figure of £75 per day came from my first two trips to Luxembourg and Trieste back in 2020. My accommodation costs were £55 per night, and I just added £20 which I thought was a fair figure to cover food and other expenses. This figure just worked, and I found that with planning, I could keep within my budget. I don't require accommodation on my last day, as I'm travelling home, so that £50 or so is used to help cover costs. I do free attractions where possible and I have a fun time. Any big budget attractions like zoos, aquariums, or museums I work overtime to afford and economise in other areas to save costs, offensive slumming it in appalling accommodation as I did in Hamburg!

I really like your videos, even though it's expensive to travel.

I never look at the numbers as it will be a lot with a family 😜 you did well for the year considering every has gone up 16:13 which you do mention
It must be hard to budget yravelling with a family, but having some financial references might help those pennies stretch further.

@@AliceGoss You certainly know what you're doing & having a good time doing it (despite the occasional horror hotel). Thanks for sharing!
Keeping in the budget is tough.
Very tough, and travelling is getting more expensive.
