Amazing review of this absolutely incredible watch! The 15202 is undoubtedly one of THE most beautiful watches in the world. Thank you for the detailed review!
Great video and of the many watch channels, I really enjoyed this one due to the fantastic and thorough history around the brand and time keeping in general. Glad that I subscribed and I look forward to the next video and to go other previous ones.
Great watch great size. The lack of a second hand is a no no for me. I get that it’s paying homage to the original which didn’t have a second hand. However without one a watch doesn’t feel alive to me.
The dial pattern is "tapisserie" (tapestry), not "patisserie" (pastry). That variation of the 15202 is the best they have done in many years. I would not, however, qualify this as a sports watch. Given its thinness and elegance, it's more a dress watch on a bracelet than an actual sports watch. Besides, between the fragility of the caliber 2121, the delicate brushed finishing, the mediocre water resistance and the astronomical cost of servicing it with AP, one would be a fool to engage in any sports activity with it. You are exactly right on AP's reliance on the RO line. Frankly, they should rename themselves "The Royal Oak Company", because there's nothing in the rest of their production that's worth owning over a PP, VC or A.L&S.
Very constructive criticisms. He should take these points on board. He is a bit too young to be doing such a review. But the passion and enthusiasm from this young man is great to see!
Funny how this reminded me of one time when I was replying a forum post in a very distracted state, and I wrote patisserie, and the forum members had a good crack out of it. My opinion is that the 15202 is definitely a sports watch - albeit a thin and elegant one (as you mentioned). One can argue that the design, inspired by a diving helmet, gives off very strong sporty flare. On top of that, what's beyond arguable is that it doesn't have a leather strap that allows colour matching to shoes. That said, the 15202 is elegant enough to wear in a formal business setting in our dress code nowadays, just as one can also wear a submariner, and for the heck of it, an IWC pilot or even a Panerai Luminor.
If you review a very thin watch, it would be a good idea to include the thickness of the watch.
Hi Ben, apologies not sure how I missed this! 8.1mm thickness. Thank you for making us aware
Dylan
In my opinion AP makes the most beautiful timepieces ever. Great video as usual!!
Enrico Fiorelli wish I could afford a royal oak, before people realize that and skyrocket its price to 45k nautilus prices
One of the most beautiful watch design ever made! Thanks Gérald Genta!
Amazing review! AP would be so lucky to employ you as the brand ambassador. RO, my favourite of all time.

Exquisitely finished to haute horology standard, credits to JLC for supplying movement to the holy trinity. Fabulous review.
Shudder to think how much the platinum costs...

If only it had a seconds hand for that reason I love the 15300.

Imagine if Rolex released a 10.5 mm sports line?
Beautiful watch, but no seconds hand would be a deal breaker for me.
