Ingo was a real person. Not a pretender. Down to earth guy. He was known for paying the same respect to any carriers in a hotel then that of celebreties. Some people hated him for that. He just would not kissing up. Great guy.
Thank you for presenting the clip from The Dinah Shore Chevy Show on NBC television from 1960 with heavyweight boxing champion Ingemar Johansson, who also did the film, All the Young Men that same year with Alan Ladd and Sidney Poitier. His fame was reaching beyond the boxing ring then, although short-lived. In a rematch against the man from whom he won the heavyweight crown, Floyd Patterson, Johansson lost, leading to his bowing from the spotlight. However, I admire his humbleness with his singing Swedish songs.
I had the pleasure of making an interview with Ingo when he had a motel in Florida. We spent a couple of hours together. He was a most charming man indeed!
Answer to Abraham: The names of the song: Värmeland du sköna (Beautiful Värmland), Vårvindar friska (fresh winds of spring), Flickorna i Småland (the girls in Småland, Roslagsvår (spring in Roslagen. The two first are traditional melodies the others rather mdern.
