    Lady? Girl? Woman? Humanoid? Either way we're not going to be including animals or beasts. They need to at least have a humanoid forrm at some point.

    I have a fantastic desktop image of Melania vs lady Maria vs sister friede
    By far the most powerful females of all the souls series at least combat related (if we consider the lore it is another story)
    For me the choice is malenia
    No doubt
    She is the only boss in all of the entirety of soulsborne that forced me to respek my charchter to a build specifically designed to tackle her insane fight.
    Her lifesteal effect that constantly heal her during the fight and the waterfall dance homing kill combo made her insanely difficult even for people with extensive souls experience
    No other boss ever forced me to do something like that aside her
    Also
    She spawned one of the best souls legend let me solo her
    No other boss has this honor

      I'd argue Marika is actually way more powerful than Malenia (seeing as how she's her mother and father). When we fight Radagon/Marika it's literally a husk of them with a shattered Elden Ring. Imagine trying to fight Marika when she had the full Elden Ring. She'd be literally invincible. I mean you can't convince me she wasn't a complete badass if she could command a gigachad super warrior like Horrah Loux.

    I believe you overlooked quite an obvious candidate from Dark Souls 1: the Witch of Izalith. In her prime she's near the very pinnacle of the Dark Souls mythos (rival to Gwyn) and far, far more powerful than any character or boss we encounter across all three games (yes, I'm including the likes of Manus, Soul of Cinder, and Gael in that statement). She even has somewhat concrete feats, like burning down the Archtrees that covered the whole world with her flame sorceries, and the power of her Lord Soul created all demons across all ages and influenced the very fabric of the lands.
    A potential competitor is Marika from Elden Ring, but I'm personally skeptical of her prowess in battle. There's a consistent pattern of her having others do the fighting for her: using Maliketh to defeat the Gloam-Eyed Queen, enlisting Godfrey to vanquish the Fire Giants, and taking the form of Radagon in the Liurnian Wars. She may wield enormous power as the vessel of the Elden Ring, but that doesn't mean she's able to harness it effectively for combative purposes (you made a similar point with Gwynevere and Velka). I would probably bet on the Witch over Marika in a combat situation.
    Malenia is a more solid pick from Elden Ring, though whether she has a chance against the Witch depends entirely on, in my opinion, how much backwards scaling she receives from Radahn's feat of holding back the stars. If Radahn has to actively maintain the stasis while fighting Malenia, then she probably has no business contending with the Witch; but if Radahn's feat is passive, and anyone who fights him to some degree benefits from it, then Malenia could be argued to be more powerful than the Witch of Izalith.
    Of course, there are feminine cosmic entities like Elden Ring's Mother of Truth/Formless Mother, and Bloodborne's Moon Presence. I wouldn't be surprised at all if either of them were the actual strongest, even if their natures are decidedly more abstract than most other characters'. With the Moon Presence, I've personally always subscribed to the idea that the only reason you're able to fight it is because you've consumed the three umbilical cords and are in the process of transforming into an infant Great One; I don't believe the player character has any prospect of facing it otherwise.

    About Maria, Friede and Malenia, there are two big things worth noting here:
    1 - The games have different sense of scale. Feats in Elden Ring are generally just higher, while Bloodborne's are usually more grounded. Which directly translates to power scaling of the characters in said universes. For example, Malenia's Scarlet Aeonia singlehandedly cause more terrain damage than literally anything in all of Bloodborne ever did. Even in Dark Souls the only things comparable would be the likes of Izalith's firestorms in the war or Manus' effect in Oolacile, which aren't very clearly portrayed in the game.
    2 - Maria and Friede both have a powerful reputation, but out of the 3 Malenia is the only one ever placed in a podium compared the the other main figures of the game. Maria is never made out to be more notable then characters like Gherman, Ludwig or Laurence in any way, just being put beside them. And Friede is only mentioned in very isolated pieces of lore and never really compared to anyone else. Meanwhile, Malenia is explicitly stated to be one of the two most powerful demigods alongside Radahn, directly putting her above most of the main powerhouses of the lore other than beings such as Maliketh and Marika, which are the very top of the entire cast.
    So I do think it's a pretty clear sweep. That said, the video is definitely more entertaining if you try to ponder matchups like you did, and the whole elemental advantages and such was fun to think about. So while I think the answer of who's stronger is clear, imagining possible matchups with scaled stats is a very cool mental exercise.

    One thing that could be mentioned for the girls of ds2 if not the entirety of the souls games is the fact that - things like decapitation are at best a general nuisance that can be worked around rather than a solid win.
    The hollows might just keep resurrecting before malenia can finish them off (all-a the gaintdad meme) similar to what sister frieda does in her bossfight.
    Which puts into question how affective scarlet rot would be especially if their on fire due to being ashen or using immolation, or igniting their blood. What would happen if malenia gets hollowified?

      Radahn was able to cut Malenia's arm off and push her to the point of using a big ol' poison nuke, seemingly without even using his gravity magic. People dismiss him because he's kinda easier to fight, gameplay wise, but there's a reason people in the world call him the mightiest demi-god and story-wise it's the Tarnished + a small army taking him on. When dealing with strongest we have to define if it's strongest relative to the entity's respective universe or strongest in general. Respective to universe it's difficult to say but probably Velka.
    Strongest in general it's Lady Maria as the Bloodborne characters are orders of strength above the rest of the verse. A regular member of the church is able to use a call beyond, an attack capable of summoning the power of a small exploding star.
    General Radhan can create a meteor crash, an attack that outputs far less power than the explosion of a star and he's noted to be one of, if not the strongest demigod.
    Bloodborne characters may not even be perceived by the others.
    And to lighten the tone and keep it fun, they carry glocks and gatlings lol

    • @SilverMont
      @SilverMont  25 дней назад +1

      I don't see BB being above the others, in fact it would be lower, in my eyes. The scale is much smaller (city wide for one thing) and whilst things like A Call Beyond sound impressive when we hear words like "exploding star" but functionally, it's no greater than most sorcery/miracles.
      Conversely, the Great Ones actively avoid physical confrontation most of the time. They prefer to stay behind the scenes - kinda like Gwyndolin. People like to compare them with Lovecraft's works, but they aren't actually from Lovecraft, any more than Elden Ring has dragons making it from LOTR etc. I think people hear words like "Great One" and start blowing things way out of proportion. When you look at what they actually do in the game and in the lore. They aren't a great destructive, conquering force.
      Finally, most armaments in Bloodborne are very mundane - whereas in the others you have magical/godly weapons and armour that are far more prevalent. BB has guns, but could one of those pellets penetrate say... Havel's magical armour?

    If influence counts as power, then The Painting Woman...because she has Uncle Gael's loyalty, and he killed the whole world for "his lady's painting". If we're talking pure combat ability in Dark Souls, I'd say the Witch of Izalith is the strongest in personal might and influence as she possessed an entire Lord Soul and was way stronger than any of the gods from Gwyn's lineage minus Gwyn himself. In Elden Ring, it's unquestionably Marika. Not only is she technically Radagon as well (meaning she's just as strong as he is), but Marika was the vessel for the Elden Ring and literally had the power to command Horrah Loux, wipe out the fire giants, fight the ancient dragons to a standstill and an eventual truce, etc. Plus she's the mother/father of every major demigod in the Lands Between.
    If we combine known power with the characters' feats it goes: 1. Marika 2. Witch of Izalith 3. Malenia 4. Friede 5. Lady Maria. 6. Rennala 7. Tomoe...etc.
    One could argue that Priscilla, Gwynevere, Lannseax are quite powerful as they're gods and an ancient dragon. I'm sorry to say this, but none of the human characters are remotely close to the strength of the gods in these games. (The Player character doesn't count in this equation).

    • @SilverMont
      @SilverMont  26 дней назад

      Yeah the human characters are kinda weak but that's what makes them likeable haha. And yeah the witch was strong, although she did have her daughters too. She probably didn't NEED them to cast all that magic, we just never saw her acting independently. Again, it's likely she could, in the same way that Marika likely can do anything Radagon can as they are the same person.
      But at the same time, it is still supposition. Marika could well have been ineffectual at fighting and needed Radagon for that. Even though he's her. Magic and alchemy is weird. Hopefully we find out more about her this week in Shadow of the Erdtree!
      I wonder how Anor Londo Vs Leyndell would go.

The carian and raya lucaria were the only faction the golden order wasnt able to defeat in straight-up combat and Rennala fought and tied with Radagon in combat, and as we know Radagon is Marika. We know the Elden Beast fell from the stars and I’m pretty sure Ranni’s goal is basically to take the fight to the gods, so maybe it’s an eldritch horror thing where mortal minds can’t perceive them without going mad. And if that’s the case then maybe Rennala was somehow capable of surviving that knowledge, and that’s how she grew so powerful. That might explain why Radagon was after her in the first place too, she could’ve been close to learning the truth of the Elden Beast and so he was sent first to stop her in war, and then to break her emotionally when that failed. I’m so excited for this dlc to give us more info lol

      Look, I absolutely love Bloodborne so don't get me wrong, but between being strong enough to slay house sized werewolves, or being able to literally jump to the upper atmosphere and fall to the earth like a meteor, Bloodborne is NOT the game with higher scaling here.
      Bloodborne being a lot more grounded while Elden Ring is a lot more grandiose is a big part of each game's aesthetic and each game makes great use of their own approach. But it isn't fair for power scaling in the slightest.

    • @urtoryu_dy_althraidn
      @urtoryu_dy_althraidn 23 дня назад

      @@ryandavid1277 Correct, I 100% agree with that. But that doesn't mean you should ignore gameplay entirely, especially when it comes to the conceptual level.
      For example, take Mohg's Bloodboon Ritual attack. Him dealing damage in percentage obviously means nothing since it's purely a gameplay aspect of how bleed works, but the attack being a long range fire AoE DOES matter regardless of power or mechanics, since it defines how an opponent would need to deal with it on a conceptual level.
      While the numbers are obviously meaningless, the attack animations themselves may not be depending on circumstances.
      Besides that, I was just giving one random example. The same applies to exclusively lore too, so if you don't like Radahn's example, then have Gransax destroying a massive stone city wall or Scarlet Aeonia completely ruining an entire ecosystem instead, those are purely lore based and also above any single event in Bloodborne history.
