    I feel like this also depends on what point you're at in your training. If you're a beginner your main goal should ne to get as strong as possible. Do this by using large compound lifts multi joint, multi muscle. Doing so will grow your muscles much more than isolated lifts. Once you get a year or so in and you've built a strong solid base, it makes much more sense to focus on isolation.
    To many people enter the gym doing isolated lifts without knowing why, or to what end.

      good point, bloody beginner, maybe a good idea, also just to become overall stable. But you could still argue to do bent over rows and squats. Adn stiff legged deaedlifts.

    agreed, I stopped deadlifting when I stopped playing baseball, and now I just want to be jacked lol

      it is not a bad exercise by any means. Just not the best choice when you're goal is bodybuilding.
