Is Discovery Princess Good for Kids? Full Ship Tour and Review

- Discovery Princess is @princesscruises newest ship. It's awesome, but Princess is really a cruise line geared toward OLDER people. THIS IS NOT a Cruise line for KIDS. All the fun stuff for kids is absent on this cruise ship. There are much better ships for kids. That being said, if you are older this is an amazing ship for you. My parents who are in their 70s love princess and they stayed on this ship for 3 weeks.

Geared mainly towards adult in one of my main reasons for choosing this ship
That’s why my parents love it too. 😍
Exactly! When we cruise with our grandkids, we go on Royal Caribbean. Disney is far too overrated.
@@HissingKitty2008 that’s awesome. I need to try Royal Caribbean again. It’s been a while.
Well , princess also has childrens activities, but I love their catering to adults. We pay for it all. lol
@@alcalde1231 yes they do have children’s activities, but their audience is definitely adults.
So many snarky comments...I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your video and learned alot about this ship. I will be sailing her Thanksgiving week and hopefully because its a holiday there will be more kids onboard as we have 3 kids in our group. Thanks for a great video!
Thank you. I appreciate it very much. I hope there are kids on board for you. If not then your three will get all of the attention at the kids clubs
@@piercechan see ya there. We have 2 kids in our group!
@ sweet! They will be camp buddies
please update your experience. We are going in March. with kids!
@ the cruise was overall great. The lack of waterslides was a bummer but the medallion was awesome, allowed our kids to run around the ship and we always knew where everyone was. The kids used their phones and played hide and seek by tracking each other. The kids club was very crowded because it was a holiday cruise so they only went once. Boardgames in the juneau dining room during the day was fun and all the shows and entertainment were excellent. The only minor negative was the overall food was just ok. Have fun
Is eating in the dining room free or an extra cost? Thanks for this video, very informative.
It is free. I’ve never come across a cruise where eating in the dining room isn’t free.
That looks like a great ship!
It was a good ship. Not as fun for kids as some of them, but we still had a good time.
Is this the ship that tours Alaska Thanks
It is actually.
You left out the best pool on this ship. It is the Retreat Pool, located by the outdoor sanctuary, forward.
I thought I had that one in there! Maybe I added it to the sanctuary section? I’ll have to double check. If I missed it I’ll do a follow up
@@Outdoorfamilytravels you did! I apologize for my error. Happy cruising.
@dmaextraordinaire8205 I’m so glad you mentioned something. 😊
Thank you for this. Sorry for the mean people on here
No worries. Thank you so much for watching.
That looks like a nice cruise ship.
It is a nice cruise ship. It had a lot of nice relaxing stuff.
I booked a night in each dining room to check each one out
We did that too. I found that I liked the Juni dining room best.
I think using phrase," Old Person Ship" was rude!!
Sorry. It’s just not geared towards kids. AT ALL. everyone I know who likes princess better is older. 🤷♀️ they don’t have a lot of stuff for kids. Didn’t mean to offend.
@@Outdoorfamilytravels Thanks for the advice, I have 4 kiddos. Also wanted to say that you don't need to add CC to your videos, YT can do it already. The pink words are distracting :)
@@Shera_Travels thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it! Are you going on a cruise with your kids soon?
@@Outdoorfamilytravels I just took my 8yo and mom on Harmony of the Seas for my mother's 70th birthday in May. Currently planning a cruise for 10th anniversary this September. But it's hard for me to choose which cruiseline because I have my favorite, but as a Travel Advisor it's best to try all the cruise lines but I seem to stick with the same four lol. RCCL, NCL, Carnival and Princess. I'm debating between Virgin Voyages, Celebrity or MSC to try next.
@@Shera_Travels nice. I tend to stick with the same ones too. 😂
So none of the special dining venues 😂
Are you interested in special dining? We don’t usually spend extra money on cruises, but if that is something you are interested in I’ll try to put them in future videos
Respectfully, the constant music was rather obnoxious. Sorry.
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it! It really helps me improve. I’ve taken the amount of music WAAAY down on my newer videos.
@@Outdoorfamilytravels Thank you 😊 . We are boarding this ship in December. I did enjoy the tour! I will watch your newer videos. 👍
@jolenecreech7648 ❤️😍 thanks for watching and commenting. It really makes a huge difference for me
Decent tour video, but barely anything discussing kids… kind of misleading title.
Thank you for the feedback. Please let me know what you would like me to discuss so I can improve.
I don’t think it’s worth the money for kids as you can get cheaper cruises with more stuff for kids to do. If your looking for a quieter cruise with less families this is the one for yoy
The fact that they don’t gear things towards kids is the main reason I like them.
I totally understand that. My parents love them too
The dining room’s name is the SKAGWAY! Learn to spell correctly!
I know it is. If you are referring to the closed captions they are auto generated.
This is easily my favorite Princess ship. 8 of my next 11 cruises are on this one. I prefer it to the Sun Princess.
That’s awesome! It’s a good ship. That’s for sure.
