Debo the cush it rod butt caps were meant for protecting your ribs from bruising your side on setting the hook on big fish. I've used the Balancer that Larry Dahlberg brought to the market many years ago. It was a harder rubber and had lead disc weights included to balance a rod. I'm sure you get some of that effect using the cush it. I will add only as helpful information on balancing is you still want the tip to be down

Just picked up a couple of Cashion rods. Got one for worm and jig and another for light cranking. Works great throwing a fluke as well. Love these rods!
Tica does the mesh type grips on the surf rods they make, it's super nice when your hands are wet, casting in the dark... Piscifun and KK are two reels that are very comfortable and reliable in my experience, BTW.. KK spinning reels are SUPER reliable in particular, I might add...

I am a larger kayak angler that wears an XXL shirt. I have never used a Piscifun reel but have tried their braid line before with decent success. That Kistler rod and reel look sweet..I like the plain looks as well.
The Cush-it also make is easier to get a rod if it going in the drink, right, it makes it also float? We might have to give my combo a yeet into the lake and see how it works

The Icon Chatterbait rod is the next rod I buy. Jody Queen has won alot of money with that rod. He is an the Cashion team and a great kayak angler.
