Nice video! As a fair-weather rider, this will never be an issue for me. But my Teslas see up to a 30% drop in range when it's 10 or less (Fahrenheit.) My ribelle rs is on order.
@@WattsToTheWheels stealth grey. Also got a windscreen, keyless, grip warmers, cover, rear jack. Oh, and the RS version! They told me a May or June delivery.
I don't mind riding at 0°c, but at highway speeds, wow, you gotta be really rugged up for the trip, especially since you don't have a warm motor underneath you. I'm lucky my commute is only on 80kmh roads.
yeah. it was cold indeed. I will recreate it this winter again with realtime logging of battery temperatures. not sure if I should be afraid or feel anticipation 😁
Well done mate, that's brass balls riding there, but better on an ev than any ICE bike! I see you have the 107, and I am soon going to be on the same bike (at the shippers, to ship next week so hopefully end of april). We won't have temps that cold here in the southern hemisphere, but interesting to see how much it drains when cold! No autobahn either, so curious to know what consumption is 'normal' when you travel at 135kph
Consumption video is still in queue. Its very windy here since weeks, so no good conditions to generate comparable data. Hoping for better weather next week. My wild guess at 135kph, with Eva, no windcreen is around 150-160 Wh/Km.
Your crazy riding in that cold 🤪👍 That would be cool if you could pre condition your battery pack by warming it up before you go. Would the performance be better if you had the bike inside a building before you left? I have a Fiat 500e, that parks outside and when it’s cold I barely get regenerative braking for a couple miles but the power is still there.
Yes, "preconditioning" by parking inside helps a lot. It takes some time depending on the temperature before the battery cools down again while riding. So for the first 30 minutes or so the performance is good. Regenerative braking is always available if the battery isn't fully charged or drained. I cannot see a dependency on temperature on that one
Watts To The Wheels That’s interesting. Have you tried to block with wind up front with cardboard to keep it a little warmer? I wonder why my Fiat doesn’t regenerate right away when it’s cold. I found that 14.4 degrees celcius and above I have full regeneration from the start. It’s a great car that I got used for 8,500.00! I’m hoping to convert my 1967 Yamaha YCS1 Bonanza to electric to putt around on but no one makes a good kit yet.
Yes, I thought about a cover but didnt try it to this day. Speaking about conversions, there are a few people out there who bought a crashed zero and used that drivetrain for a custom conversion. Always interesting to see.
So, uh, I've read that Energicas have active cooling, but I take it they don't have active heating, eh? At such speeds in similar weather conditions, I barely consume 15% more than you do in a... 2017 Tesla Model S 90D. That's quite a hit you're getting there... How was the wind by the way?
"oh fuck, I can't see a fucking thing." 😆
I'm never complaining about cold weather in the rain at 60 degrees Farenheight ever again. lol

congrats. which color?

great choice. you will have a lt of fun with it 😀
@@WattsToTheWheels just took out my noisy Victory Gunner for the first time this year. It was fun but noisy. That makes it less fun.

Loosing 1% battery evry 15sec, that joke 😂 4% per minute 😂😂😂

Watts To The Wheels That is a great idea! I will have to look into that. Have you rode the new Energica with the 21.5 kWh battery?
maybe put some thermal jacket around the battery to warm up?
haha, I serously thought about that. A cover of some sort to help the battery to warm up
You only charge at work? You must be in the Netherlands 😂 nee grapje hoor.
but why would you even drive your mc at this weather and there is usally salt on the road in -1 degree ?
The Motorcycle is my daily driver. I don't own a car

not windy at all. problem really was battery temperature. seems like the internal chemicals impose a high restistance at those temps. I dont know
It sounds, like my vacuum cleaner...
But its way more fun than vacuum-cleaning. Believe me
It's faster than bmw 1000rr
Geht es hier nun noch ums Motorrad fahren, oder was soll das alles?
Seems so 😁
