Lets appreciate that despite whatever differences they might have, RTD still acknowledges how great of an actor Eccleston is and how great his portrayal of the Doctor is.

I wish we had a full Unleashed episode about the casting process and Ncuti's first day on set, I love this sort of thing so much!

It feels like ages since we saw Ncuti and Millie (even so it was only four months) so I´m excited to see more adventures with them.

Ncuti feels like he’s gonna be one of the greatest Doctors of the modern era along with 12 and 9 I’m really excited to see him in action
I hope he does well. I'm frankly just sick of all the vids on how terrible he is. I've gotten quite sick of fans complaining about things BEFORE they even happen.

I saw ALL of the old episodes that still exist and having 'fans' say how bad Ncuti is BEFORE he started his season is especially taxing when COLIN FUCKING BAKER was eviserrated for how bad he was only for his audio dramas to be considered some of the best WHo ever made.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm so glad to finally have a Doctor that appears to be flat-out done with angsting over things like the Time War and Gallifrey being gone, and is more concerned with adventuring and making the most of his lease on life. Still undeniably The Doctor, still being the "good man", as Ohila of the Sisterhood of Karn once called him. But, unburdened by the baggage of the past and more open than ever to simply enjoying himself and having fun. It's long overdue.
Matt will always be my fav, but ncuti is definitely going to be up there as being one of my favs. He is a bit like Capaldi/Eccleston. with a hint of Tennant and Smith. He brings something refreshing and this storyline is suitable for the doctor that he is portraying. Thank you ncuti and thank you russle for believing in him. I definitely can not wait for more episodes
The amount of work this guy did to prepare for the part is commendable!

Just like the 2 other people here above me, same.
After seeing him flex his acting muscles in 'Sex Education' (see his character's scenes in Nigeria), I instantly knew he could handle the range of emotions we expect from The Doctor. The only question is whether Russell T. Davies' (and Steven Moffat's) writing is up to par, but I'm cautiously optimistic because the 60th anniversary specials were groundbreaking and some of the best Who I've ever seen.
Ncuti Gatwa is such a great choice-- he brings youth, energy, passion to The Doctor. Ncuti Gatwa you Are The Doctor! ❤️ ❤️

Interesting that The Fugitive Doctor was at the very beginning in the intro of this video.
Seeing 15 interact with other doctors (specifically the 12th doctor) would be a dream come true! I like the fact that this doctor is more emotional and warm (loved seeing the seeds of this in 14).
EDIT: I haven't felt this satisfied with the casting of an incarnation of the doctor since Peter Capaldi (and Jo Martin! She's not even mainline yet she established herself in only one episode). Ncuti Gatwa is like lightning trapped in a bottle, we are truly blessed with this choice!
Yes! I know Peter has made it clear he doesn't want to return. But him and Ncuti interacting with each other 12 and 15 would be amazing!!

@@arthemis1039 I believe he said in an interview his biggest issue with coming back is he doesn't like multi-Doctor stories, and that the only way he'd come back is if they did an episode run (or even just one, maybe a flashback episode that has plot ties to something current happening) of the Twelfth Doctor again.

I’ve been watching Dr Who since I was in single digits with Tom Baker and when it started with Dr and Rose…I didn’t even care who what when or where I just started watching it again and fell in love with it all over again. I even got my Uncle to start watching the new ones again. So it’s full circle with us.

From the sounds of it, it doesn't look like Eccleston wants to work with RTD again. But he's up for returning to the role without RTD, and he has done Big Finish

Little thing I noticed: Jo Martin's Doctor quickly pops up before Hartnell's. I'm guessing RTD is confirming that she is indeed pre hartnell and not between 2 and 3 like we previously thought...
The thing with RTD is that I think he won't necessarily retcon it, but make it easier to understand.
She was always implied to be before Hartnell, she was a part of the Timeless Child story

At the beginning we can see the fugitive doctor before the first doctor so it might prove that the fugitive doctor came before him way before his memory got erased

@@user-ih7mn8fz9j The Fugitive Doctor’s entire purpose (from an overall narrative standpoint) was to give a meaningful corporeal form to the concept of the Timeless Child and the Doctor’s time working for Division, both of which were always specified as occurring so long before the time of even William Hartnell’s Doctor that those events had already fallen out of the Time Lord mythos into mere fairy tales to scare children.
