I have a disorder called bpd. We feel emotions x8 the average person. This song is forever going to be a special one for me. I also used to play splitenz on DVD on repeat when I was younger. I absolutely love the music, art/creativity, dance and makeup. Everything was always so thrilling to me. My dad does sound engineering and I think he may have even done sound for you before his name is Richard Howey with Audio Dynamite Limited. I am 25. I was probably about 10 when dad played splitenz. I have been so obssessed since. Love all of both of your music 🥰🙌

This song (even without the clip) gives me tears. Again and again. My brother Johan died in 2008. He was a great Beatles and Finn fan!!!! At the moment he was really ill and the end was coming... I played "Won't give in". These words had nothing to do with the original lyrics. Still. It gave me hope. Writing a song or melody is one. To come up with the right words it takes two to tango. Thanks Tim and Neil.
I saw Finn Brothers free in Central Park one time. I went straight from work and arrived just as the opening act was wrapping up and everyone was spreading out blankets to have a picnic with their friends, but since I was all alone I just was able to walk easily right up to the front. Amazing show made more amazing by being so close.
It wasn’t intended as a song about suicide although the video partially implies this, it was about persevering with important relationships but if it’s it gives you strength that’s great. It’s a powerful message.
@@petertobin4957 Hm, I always thought it had a mental health / strength meaning as well. Even the lyrics nod to this. Did they ever address the meaning or is it just left to the listener to decide?
@@LoafDV at a small acoustic set the brothers played for the true colors charity in Hamilton they clearly stated it was about preserving relationships and family. I watched Spit Enz on there final tour in Christchurch and today we seeing Neil joining Fleetwood Mac long tradition and great artist & talent another dimension
I know you guys have beautiful blending voices, but when I heard this album almost twenty years ago, I had some trouble keeping tears behind my eyes. Especially the beautiful and melancholic harmonies in ‘disembodied voices’ touched me. Jealous!!!
This is my absolute favourite song. I would love to hear a long version this, for this is huge. I might record it myself? It's spiritual. Here we go. Thanks guys.
Love this video. Something about the stillness and grayness really embodies "depression" better than any other screen depiction I've seen. Feel like I've had the expression and the posture of the first woman shown a few times in my life.
El tema es buenísimo......pero el pasaje musical final se complementa a la perfección, elevando la canción a otro nivel sonoro.....ya forma parte de tí.
I love this song! It's my favourite by Tim and Neil. They are the best songwriters of the last 30 years. They should write more together. Shit video... sorry.
Neil Finn is a songwriter on par with McCartney, Lennon, Springsteen and Paul Simon. Just timeless.
Totalmente 💎💎
Lennon and McCartney nearly. The others definetly.
So agree with this. Soundtrack to my life.
Neil Finn is the GOAT - end of
Very much so. 100%
The older I get, the more I understand this song.
It’s a wonder how Neil has managed to write so many phenomenal tunes that can make you feel so many emotions, leaving you in both tears and awe.
Don't forget Tim in this, his lyrics and contribution is equally important.
True ..The bros finn was born in a place full of love and respect ..
After not having heard it for some time, I'd almost forgotten what a great song this is.
Played this at my wedding - it's so appropriate and I love Neil's work above all others

How can one guy write so many great songs? Brian Wilson, McCartney, N Finn.
I agree. They were born with music in their souls
Of all The Finn Brother songs this is perhaps my favorite. What a great song with such a sincere and heartfelt message.
Kids need to hear this music. My 12 year old loves it. He can sing like a bastard though.
One of my very favourite Finn songs. Perfect.
I still hope that this wonderful album will finally get a LP release, along with Try Whistling This and One Nil.
Give Tim the credit he is due....... Master song writer as good as anyone on the planet .......he started the ball rolling

Melancholy yet wholesome and uplifting/hopeful
Why does it touch my soul everytime I listen to? Incredible feeling
Had pleasure of seeing them at Glasgow Royal Concert hall about 20 years ago. Minnie Driver was the support act. Wonderful.

Hang in there brother.

Can't get enough Finn Bros. They're as melodic as McCartney with top-notch thoughtful lyrics and tasteful playing. Beautiful harmony singing.
I agree except the Beatles produced 100x the product. Still this is a lovely song.
