I ordered this using your discount code. I love the fact they send both options together so you can use either one. I'm using the older version right now. So far, so good. This thing doesn't shake at all and I love the fact that if you turn it horizontally you can go either way and have the phone be higher or lower. At first I didn't like it because it wouldn't charge while it was mounted, but after using another product, the back of my phone was heating up while I was in a Zoom call. This is nice that it holds and releases quickly. I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Thanks for the awesome, detailed review. The color of my mounts are gray (matches the dashboard) and not black/silver like yours.
Just picked up their latest version of the electric version for my Model 3. It fit perfectly and looks pretty much OEM. I'm on the waiting list for the release for the 2021 USB-C hub. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hi Cody, great videos! Interested in this new phone mount, but curious, did the indentation on the dash when mounted to the left side ever go away? Also, does this new rubber mount cause an indentation to your dash? If so, did the indentation to your dash with the new mount go away?
Although it holds the phone solidly, the mount and the phone seem to vibrate easily. How does that translate to readability on the road?

I got is but missing the car mount for middle not side mount also it’s missing the attachment connection to the side mount so I cannot use it either way

So I just got this phone mount and looks amazing. This phone mount is for Tesla only, I wish they could gave the USB-C to USB-C charging cable for the mount instead of USB to USB-C so I can charge the mount in car without any adapter.

I bought the new $35 phone mount but it doesn’t fit my 2021 m3p so I’m returning it. Temai did tell me that In 1.5 mos they will be releasing a new mount for new model.
I wish I could just by the mount and use the old motor! Mines only 2 months old!

So I bought this, based on your recommendations, for my 2021 M3 LR and find that the phone (Samsung S21) vibrates quite a bit since the mount in my opinion isn't very sturdy. After a couple of days of driving it eventually falls off the dash with my phone, which is a pain. I've went back to putting my phone on the charging pad instead. I like to use Waze for speed traps and re-routing if necessary so it would've been nice if this functioned correctly. Also, the way they say to attach to dash to prevent damage to the dash still leaves marks when the whole thing falls off the dash. I think the base that attaches to the dash is fine, it's the flimsy clear plastic pieces that slide together is the issue. I've been trying to rest the phone base on the dash for extra support (because if you don't it will only stay attached for about 15 miles max). This is driving on well paved city streets without potholes also.
thanks for your update. this new model looks super wobbly and i cant believe someone would be ok with this. i just got the electric model with the plastic mount that is shown in the first part of this video and will test it tomorrow. i use a samsung flip 3
Exact the same problem here. My phone (Galaxy S21 Ultra) wobbled so much and I removed the phone holder. And now, the phone holder left dented mark in the soft plastic of the dash. :-(

The dash is the same as the LRAWD and no scratching
Suggestion: Leave the mount permanently cabled to USB-C so it always has open/close power AND can wirelessly charge your phone when the phone is in the mount.
The mount is not a charger but if you mean unplug it then plug into your phone that is a good idea 👍
Only thing is you could be overcharging the battery by keeping it plugged in full-time. Not sure if it has auto shutoff overcharge protection.

Yes! What's wrong w Tesla?
Interesting product but I don't understand why everything has to be electric, when every bit of juice matters for range in an EV. Granted by alone this device doesn't use much power but it adds up with things like the power seats, power lumbar support, audio system, phone charging, heat/AC, headlights, tail lights, running lights, center display...you get the point. Plus, it's faster to adjust things that aren't electric. For instance, my Jeep Wrangler has manual adjusted seats and they are so easy and fast to adjust compared the power adjusted seats in my Model 3. I'm not even a fan of the auto dimming mirrors because they are never dark enough compared to manual dimming mirrors.
Good review but you sure are making your Model 3 minimalistic dash very cluttered and complicated, like other vehicles. lol. However I still worry that this new rubber mount will still put some permanent wear on the soft dash material. Hope you keep us informed if it does.
Speaking of wear, I've notice that my center console tray has caused wear in the felt of the console at the front corners, caused by taking the tray out and in. Not sure how to fix it, maybe stick a small back felt dot in each corner.
Hey Dan. The 1 hour charge every month or so doesn’t do much. I plug it in while I have the car plugged in. I know that minimalistic thing is a big deal to some but I don’t care about that. I’ll take the cool gadgets all day. Just me
also dont get it love my iottie, but want to mount it in the vents actually. thinking about buying this only for the mounting option and then maybe attach the iottie to it... but then still need to think where to leave the cable
Dont know why you need a mount in a Tesla. It's GOT a place for your phone...and it charges wirelessly!
