Wow, this edit was really something special, it had an entirely different focus. Instead of the killer and thrills in the spotlight, it was more on the tragedy of the victims, and the free-spirited folly of youth. When mixed in with a deranged element like this, there can be deadly consequences... I love how you really put a lot of work into both the intro and the ending as well. The shift to the character's face when their name was called, the narration overlay, and tbh I was so enthralled by the whole thing, I didn't realize until it came up that the actual title card appeared much later (but stylishly so 😎) than usual. The way you constructed this, with the little tensions building up, tipping the scale ⚖️ bit by bit into "something isn't quite right here" territory was awesome. From the roadkill art, to starting to really crank up the creep factor with the brother in the van. This film truly was one of the kings of dark humor and foreshadowing, from the grandpa failing at bashing Sally over the head, the magazine, the description of the slaughterhouse technique (and then your pan over to the house itself, with all its dark secrets lying within). Something else that really struck me with this edit was that it didn't rely on spooks or even a ton of gore. It was more psychological. The horror was light and bright, glaring and in your face in the middle of the day, grilling you with its brash nature and obscenity, like the scorching Texas sun itself. ☀️ When the unthinkable happens in broad daylight, loudly, sometimes that's even more unsettling than hiding in the shadows. 😶🌫️ But tbh, we've all had family dinners like this, right? 😃😂🍽️ Once again, you're a master of parallels, my dude. You showed both Sally and Leatherface one after the other. Both in stupors, but for different reasons. Sally, bc she was struggling to comprehend the reality and scope of the madness that was transpiring, and Leatherface, also in a tizzy due to a similar cause, but bc he was having trouble controlling the victims 😅. The sun blossom over his face and translucent overlays are quickly becoming one of my favorite staples of yours, btw 😉 The ending was pretty campy, and I loved it, like the video was aware of its absurdity in a meta way. Well done 👌 On a lighter note, I envy the friend group for having the freedom to get together for a long road trip, I've always wanted to do that across the country 🌄🛣️🚐
