I haven't been in competition or followed any karate for quite a while but getting back to it now. What's with the stomping feet? Is that a new criteria or something lol, that used to be frownded upon by WKF standards.
I feel as though the WKF has gotten a slight bit soft since around the early 2000s, but even then whenever I saw people doing Ryurei-ryu Kata they were stomping their feet.
It is absolutely impossible to combine these two performances! Torres is very tense in the shoulders, his timing is not right in many places. Although Kiyuna also uses a lot of athletics, but it does not prevent kata from remaining kata. Torres is a good athlete and that's all, Kiyuna is already a great karateka. That's the difference.
I have seen Kiyuna spar.....never saw Torres spar.....and why does Torres bend his neck and upper back forward in movements and Kiai? He consistently does this....not sure why.....
Something very clear..Torres is competing with a modified version for f the Kata….this reduce the chance to appreciate his good technique. Kiyuna is far away from Torres…Torres has to win first to Quintero before to get close to Kiyuna numbers
The point is don't miss the originality and the beauty of the kata ...both are the best 👌
Both have their ways of interpreting the kata. Both are also great
ARIEL TORRES had power and strenght
RYO KIYUNA had power and technical performance

Amazing performance by both.. 🥋👍🏻👏👏
Ryo has grace
Kiyuna is the best

Both great! Edge goes to Ariel
I cant compare betwen them because they are equal almost
Karate vs show
Both are show, and both are karate. Look at Kiyunas hikite, (especially on nukite) he’s slapping the shit out of himself for the sound

@@carriekatsumoto867 and why does kiyuna shake his head left and right on nukite?
@@carriekatsumoto867 because the clean technique Kiyuna has
@@JCDGAMING01 that is to show he's strenght
