    = Ingredients =
    125g(9Tbsp) unsalted butter
    125g(1/2cup plus 1Tbsp) dark brown sugar
    1 egg
    175g(1 1/4cup) all-purpose flour
    Pinch of salt
    3g(3/4tsp) baking powder
    3g(1tsp) ground cinnamon
    3g(1tsp) ground allspice
    1. In a bowl, put unsalted butter and mix lightly. And add dark brown sugar and egg. Mix until well combined.
    2. Put sieved all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground allspice, and salt. Using spatula, mix until well combined. (If you like spice, I recommend to add more. Adding some ground ginger will be great) Put in a fridge for 1 hour.
    3. Preheat the oven for 180C / 355F. On clean surface, roll the dough with the rolling pin, about less than 5mm(0.2inch). Cut out with cookie cutters, and place on the baking tray. Bake about 15min.

    Good cookies, nice spice and sweetness. I compared them to the lotus biscoff biscuits, they are very different from each other. I would say this is a softer, more holiday cookie where lotus biscoff has more of a crunchy snap and stronger, brighter flavour.

    Tried your recipe and it turns out great!!! I put s'mores or dark choc callet as toppings, also nice! The sweetness also just nice, not too sweet. Thank you for the great recipe 🙇🏻‍♀️💕💕

    Looks awesome! Small tip from a Dutch person though:
    Speculaas and speculoos are different 😉 Speculaas has more spices than speculoos does. This is because in Belgium it was much more expensive to import spices than it was in the Netherlands so Belgium made their own version of the Dutch speculaas and called it it speculoos. Loos means "without"

      Oh, I had no idea, thank you! I was wondering though, is the speculaas traditionally crunchy or soft? I noticed the commercial ones are thin and crunch, but those homemade ones with the wooden molds (I have one🤗) tend to be thicker!

      @@stefanniemoh I rarely ever see soft speculaas. It does exist, but it's less traditional and less common. Speculaas is usually a crunchy type of cookie. In the end the taste and ingredients are the most important part though 😄

    해외에 살아서 로투스 쿠키를 구하질 못하는데... 남편이 로투스 쿠키도 만들수있냐고 주문해서 이 영상 보고 만들었는데 맛있어요! 저는 시나몬이랑 생강가루만 넣고했는데 당도도 딱 맞네요 감사합니다!!!

      @@플라잇 저는 올 스파이스를 안넣어서 그런지 완전 똑같진 않았지만 80%는 비슷하지않았나 싶네요ㅎㅎ 생강이랑 시나몬 좋아해서 맛있게 먹었어요!

    i tried your recipe today and it tasted good (it tasted very similar to lotus biscoff) but i’m confused as to why my dough turned out stickier than yours? because of that i have to cover it with flour so it doesn’t stick to the cookie cutter but the end result became ugly because there are patches of flour on my speculaas :(

      I know this is a late response but it might because of the dough is not chilled. You have to cool it down in the fridge for a while so that the butter could get harden

      100% 똑같지는 않지만 비슷..해요! 올스파이스 조금만 더 추가하면 진짜 더 비슷한맛?! 로투스가 스페퀼로스를 만든거라고해용 :)

    Oh noooo I just made the dough and I left it in the fridge, but I just realised I used five spice powder instead of allspice. Will it affect the taste badly? 😭😭😭

      섭씨 180도와 화씨 355도입니다! 예열은 180도로 해주심 돼요 :)

      시나몬가루 1 1/2작은술, 생강가루 한꼬집~1/4작은술 정도 넣으시면 될것같아요.
      우선 넣으신 다음에, 반죽하시고나서 반죽 향이 조금 더 진해도 되겠다 싶으면 더 추가하셔도 괜찮을것같아요~!

    But...Biscoff cookies are vegan and these are not :( I mean, for sure delicious but not really Biscoff recipe :(

      allspice is the same thing as pimento. The powder of dried pimento seeds :)

      @@emar6728 i'm sure about it. The original recipe of speculoos and speculaas contains "Jamaica pepper", also known as allspice, along as cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom and anise.
      Só there's no logic putting ground cinnamon and a mix with cinnamon and other spices like that recipe describes.
