When people are more than okay perpetuating violence and making Nigeria an unsafe place for lgbt people, how are we then going to stand and fight again violence against women, domestic violence and abuse, and make the country better and safer. It’s so embarrassing knowing your own people can be so cruel and evil. My heart goes to all victims of kito
@28:38 "...And that is why I thank God for Beyoncé!"🤣Truly we needed the MOTHA of the HOUSE of RENAISSANCE to provide us with some inspiration in these dark times. Another great conversation! Please everyone, try to be safe online and whereever you go.
First, thank you all for your bravery and courage to speak out on the issues of “Kito” in the Nigerian society. I do believe strongly that visibility, clap back and also being very diplomatic with your personality in your surroundings in the community. All and all please be safe, keep loving and let’s all survive.
Anything at all, Any job I refer and use queer people.. Promote the community I tell people most times.. You guys are amazing I won't lie, you really educate us and use your experiences to make us understand.. I have friends that have been kitoed and it's traumatizing just hearing what they had to see, do and endure 😔.. I'm not out to my family yet and this is not why I'm living in fear, my cousin threatened me with Rape.. I won't go into details but I'm actually scared for myself, Good thing he doesn't know where I live though.. Again, Tiers is wonderful doing this to make people like us comfortable..
Being kitoed was such a traumatizing experience for me, this guy is still out there doing it to other people. He is always in his Nigerian army uniform to perpetuate his act.
The so-called friends in the community are not even physically or emotionally available. Recently, I noticed community friends just want to know what's up in your life for discussion without showing any concern. I have been 2ru alot recently. Imagine me chatting AI just to pour out my concerns. Kitos within the community is a means of survival for the parties involved, sadly there's still no measures to tackle this.
Kito is a form of banditry and Kidnapping. It is a crime that is being committed by even those inside the community. The anger, shame and trauma can distort the behaviour of people. More psychotherapy centers for Mental health, Trauma management and addictions are needed. Many of the Kito cases are linked to sex addiction and drug abuse. If there are help for sex addiction as part of mental health as we have for HIV, it will go a long way in helping people stay safe.
Why dont you make your votes count and vote in block and support who will give you protection. Sowore is one of the few brave ones that have said he will do something about this but una no rate am. It is wel.
Kito is evil.
My sympathy to all those who were victims of such wickedness.
Im distraught by the stories, praying for safety for everyone. Love
