1992 Bass Tracker TX17 Modifications & Upgrades

- I bought this boat from the original owner about 8 months ago. I've owned a few other pontoons and bowrlders through the years, but this is my first dedicated fishing boat. I had trouble finding in-depth content on these older TX17 Trackers that weren't full tear down and rebuild videos. Hopefully this is helpful for some of you early 90s Tracker owners looking to make some upgrades.

This was my first boat I ever owned, I believe mine was a 89 or 90. Good starter boat.
Yessir definitely been a big upgrade from fishing from the bank.

When and why did you switch from the VRO pump to the old-style pump?
@rockymountboy The original owner had already removed the VRO when I bought the boat, but I would have removed it if he hadn't already. The old VRO systems just seem like such a common point of failure, and when they go you can kiss your motor goodbye running it with no oil. I just premix now at 50:1 and it runs great.

haha not sure I have the space for all of that! I've added a few more things and made some tweaks to it here and there since I filmed this...I'll likely make a little update video at some point over the next few months. Stay tuned!
What was your base price you paid for it before the marvelous restore and upgrades?
Paid 4k for it from the original owner. It was garage kept its whole life and already in great shape so I didn't have to do any restoration - just a blank canvas to start adding the upgrades.
