Nice trip Algy. I look forward to seeing you do it in your new plane !! Seeing all those classic cars made me think I must get my 1933 Austin Riply bck on the road Best regards Michael
At the moment I am playing catch up with my flying hours after the slow start of summer and the illness is still slowing me down in the evenings, so the build has suffered a bit but we are getting to the end of the hight stress bits of work at work and I am starting to adapt to the medication and hav edone a few little bits on the aircraft which will be put into a catch up video soon. I was thinking it might have been ready by october this year but whenI got the diagnosis and work ramped up for that project, coming home tired and having a nap after supper, it just got a bit too much.
Having lived through the expeirence of watching my late wife suffer the effects of cancer treatment, I can fully understand how it is effecting you. All I can do is wish you all the best. Regards Michael
I've avidly followed your build videos from the outset but wasn't aware of the nature of your illness Algy. All I can say by way of support is that I was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 but that I am now fit and well. There is very much a life after cancer. So much so that, with your inspiration, I am currently preparing my workshop in readiness to build a Nicollier Menestrel. Just wish I too had a Kub to keep me current!
Your comment is very humbling, that my videos can have an influance on anyone is just amazing to me. I am returning to something like my preillness level of fittness so hopefully within a month or two I will be getting back to full swing building, provided the finances can keep up. Thank you for you kind comments and some video of build is coming up.
Pardon the build question, but would like to know your opinion on using an airless sprayer for applying varnish to the interior structure of wing assemblies. Thanks for all of your help over the years. I wouldn't be where I am without your help!
No problem, always happy to help if I can. It depends on the system used but as a general rule of thumb you put less on the floor than you would with a standard spray gun and spraying gets into areas a brush struggles although it is still good to use a bush in some areas as you get with both spray systems spray shadows. If you add a bit of dye to the varnish it helps get and even coat and see what has been hit and work methodically. When spraying I do at least 3 coats but thinned down a fair amount normally 50% for the first coat so it gets into the wood. I use a high gloss vanish and it should end up satin any more than that and you have applied too much weight.
Accommodation looks great. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Roy, you know Great Oakley is a lovely airfield.
Приятного полёта и чистого неба!
Thank you my friend and the same to you.
Looks like it was one of those lovely Summer days we all cherish when they happen.
We had such a bad start to summer I am playing catch up to get my flying hours in and the lastfew weekends have really helped.
Looks like a really nice place to visit. I like the side in view as well.
Thank you Giles for your support and watching.
As always an enjoyable video and informative about Gt, Oakley

Thank you for your kind thoughts. At least things are looking up my count has gone from 565 down to 5.9 so that is positive.

Got Oakley is just 3 miles down the road from my house but you weren’t to know that! 😊
@@JodelFlyer I will let you know next time I fly down there. It is lovely field the only down side is the landing fee is a bit high but not terrible.
