I recently found your channel and I've really been enjoying it. I don't know how much you know about So Hyang (pronounced So Young) but she is truly an amazing artist. She is a cancer survivor and spent years fighting pneumonia afterwards. During this time she had time to reflect on her life and decided if she survived and was able to sing again she would do so to comfort others who are suffering and/or are in pain. That is why you feel such a connection to her music. It isn't just your imagination. Now a little about me. I spent almost 30 years as a touring and studio engineer. I found So Hyang because an engineer friend suggested I listen to her. She has the kind of voice that we engineers dream about. All the natural intonations with nothing overpowering. An absolute dream to mix and record. I'd suggest you listen to her performances of "Everyone" and "Misty". Misty is from the Begin Again Korea shows. I'm not sure what "Everyone" is from but my friends and I agree it's probably the best performance of not only So Hyang but possibly any artist we've ever seen. Thanks for your obvious love of music and I hope you keep doing what you're doing. I unfortunately am also a cancer survivor and the side effect of radiation treatment to my neck caused me to lose the ability to speak. If not for that I would likely have a competing channel but it's pretty tough to do when you can't speak. lol I thought I'd give you the link to "Everyone". She does have an accent when speaking but it is crystal clear when she sings. She switches from Korean to English in the middle of songs very easily.

Her belts are obviously world class but her piano/pianissimo is criminally underrated. It's always crystal clear and she only adds breathiness intentionally for effect.

She is the greatest singer of all times. Soyhang is pronounce as (So Young)
It's more pronounced like so hya~ung (hya sound that is similar to when a horse rider signals a horse to start running in the movies but with a slightly less pronounced h sound)
In singing, what is important is the enunciation of the words and not the accent. The flow of the music and the tone will take away all accents.
By the way, Sohyang speaks good American English unlike many pure Korean artists.

I watched it. Fantastic talent, but he should not sing in English, because many of his words are not intelligible. The reason people understand what he's singing would be because they already know the lyrics in English.
