The music for this song was written by a Norwegian group called Soundgarden. The lyrics were written by an Irishman named Brendan Graham. When the latter saw and heard Sohyang sing this version of it he sent a message to her via the Irish embassy in Seoul to tell Sohyang that she sang it more beautifully than he had ever heard it sung before. Shane Filan, the man they kept going back to in the audience, had a hit with this song in the 2000s with his Irish group Westlife and he was the guest of honour for the evening. He said this was his new favourite version! Sohyang completely rearranged the song and it bears little resemblance musically to the original. I said in another comment 4 months ago that she never sang it this way again, but she actually did in June 2018, the month after this performance.
You do realize that Sohyang was not speaking of any human helping to lift her spirits? She was speaking about Jesus coming to visit her when she felt like she was on her last legs and revitalizing her. She went into this performance having been forbidden by her doctor to sing due a serious case of pneumonia she was fighting. But she did not want to disappoint her fans or the TV program directors, so she did it anyway--and leveled the auditorium with this performance! She was back in the hospital in less than a day, apparently, because the pneumonia was biting again. But God lifted her up to give us this immortal performance and I, for one, am truly thankful He did! 💘👍😉😎
It is hard to believe she was recovering from pneumonia. Her Dr. told her not to sing, but she said she couldn't let her fans down. To me, that is dedication and love. She is the best in the world.
Can you believe it? She has suffering with pneumonia when this performance. . But it's true. .!!(She suffered from pneumonia about eight times between 2016 and 2018).. .
and she slayed it legendary. . .she is amazing. . !!!
I am finding peace and healing in my heart through her heavenly voice.
She went straight back to Hospital right after this was done for 3 more days. Not going to let a little pneumonia get her down. Whether it was a testament to her faith or dogged determination or both, you must admire her. I believe she does what she is called to do. The glory goes to God. Maybe if my faith were stronger I wouldn't be the sad little man I am.
She just killed the song!! I believe nobody can do singing like her..
I would like to mention that to this performance she went directly from the hospital, against doctors orders and returned to the hospital to continue reviving from pnemonia.
She was singing with the belief this was her last time doing it.
Stopped for 2 years after this performance and to our immense luck she managed to revive and find the courage to come and embrace us for more Raising Up with more hope and joy.

Sohyang is the best singer of this era. A singer whose live performance is better than the record! It's a dream, hope, and touching. (Sohyang was treating pneumonia at that time)

I believe that So Hyang is an angel who has gotten a mission from God to purify the spirits of humanbeing with her holy, heavenly, angelic and extremely emotional singing voice.
I’m sure people have told you she’s so versatile with the talents that she can rap. In a sing song style that’s unique and amazing. It’s a song called Day Day. Maybe you’ve seen it already? She did one in a singing contest and she did one version more recently with a bunch of other talented Korean singers. Both are stellar! She can also do Rock and Jazz. She’s the best to me! Mahalo!

Awesome reaction! In my opinion, she is the best female vocalist, performer, I have ever heard in my lifetime. On top of that, an amazing person with a heart of gold. The incomparable SoHyang was singing this song as a tribute to her guest here, who we see the camera locking onto a few times, and was one of the first singers of this song and put it on the map. He is Shane Filan of Irish Boy band, Westlife, who amazingly are still on top of their game decades later. Founded in 1998 and still touring Internationally. The Lyrics of the song were written by an Irishman and the music by a Norweigan.
