I'm guessing he must be a pretty big fan of Mary Halvorson, this is the most restrained I've ever seen him, and I know that he's not a huge fan of playing like that. Although I suppose his last solo release was pretty restrained, so maybe he's getting old.
I'm pretty sure Mick Barr cannot play anything slow...He tremolo picks even during quiet little jazz jams. I like it!

I was thinking the same thing. I was actually kind of proud of the fact that he didn't immediately start tremolo picking, haha.
