Handel composed op 2 when he was eleven years old 😱 A true genius!!
Where is the info from? I'm looking at his list of compositions, and this specific trio was written in c minor around 1717-1719, when he was in his early twenties, and transposed to b minor a few years later. Early twenties is a pretty young age, but not 11.
In my documents, I read that this trio was written when Handel was between 14 an d 15 years old
@@adamchapman6530I correct, the 2nd sonata of op 2 was composed at the age of 14. "The six trio sonatas of Handel’s Op 2 are not a homogenous set. The works, first published around 1730, were mostly written around 1718, but the earliest - placed second - survives in a copy owned by Charles Jennens, librettist of Messiah, which is annotated “Compos’d at the Age of 14”. That would date it to 1699". My source is Irishtimes.com
@@michelelhopiteau3683 Yes, the sonata op 2 no 2 was the first of the set that was composed, at the age of 14 in 1699

Handel listening Pergolesi
Handel was 25 years older than Pergolesi, and the Op. 2 were written when Handel was eleven.
Handel wrote these sonatas when he was a teenager and Pergolesi was not even born.
