1:03:38 - This stop-motion animation short by Mike Jittlov was done for Mickey Mouse's 50th Anniversary Special back in 1978 and it was a bonus feature on Walt Disney Treasures: Micky Mouse in Living Color Vol. 2.
That DVD only had the last part of it. I actually asked Mike Jittlov about it via email years ago and he told me Disney still owed him royalties for it.
Thank you so much for posting this! I remember when this first came out, we recorded it and watched it over and over again. Haven't seen this in forever, thank you for reviving a wonderful memory.
@@keepingwaltindisney Soooo many great things to enjoy on your channel! I'm so glad you showed up on my recommendations! Have you ever posted the "grand opening" of EPCOT hosted by Danny Kaye? Another classic similar to Disney's One Man's Dream.
The best way to sum up Walt Disney is he was complicated. He made mistakes (i.e. how he handled the strike and testifying before HUAC) that he should be called out on, but at the same time, he promoted science and technology in a way no one else could and knew how to get the best out of his workers.
At 1:23:39, the show talks about logistical challenges. I have one for the Imagineers: a railroad from the Walt Disney Transportation Center that I propose, which would connect this train to the monorail and the antique train at WDW, to the Brightline train station and the Orlando airport. There would be an inductive electric power source for the trains instead of a 3rd rail or a catenary wire. It's about 20 miles total.
@14ls98 That's really too bad, I had the show recorded on VHS by my grandfather a very long time ago... unfortunately, mold set in, the material slowly degraded over the years, and I no longer have VHS player. 😭
Dick Van Dyke, a Disney Legend, as Walt himself? He's still with us in November 2023, at almost age 98, and still singing!
Michael Landon never changed, til he passed away ,RIP
Is this the whole special? This is awesome! Thank you so much!
It’s just missing about a five minute clip from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! Other than that it’s all there.
@@keepingwaltindisney Awesome! This is so great, love it! Thank you for all you do.

Thank you Keeping Walt in Disney
For putting this video on,
It is my first time seeing this,
I am really enjoying it.
I've been looking for this special for years. Thank you a million times over.
I was 155 days old that day in 1981
Now I’m 42 years old
Lol, I just turned 42 on 9/23
I could just cry my eyes out 😭😭😭
@Keeping Walt in Disney
Thank You !
Another Fantastic tribute for 100 Years Of Wonder!!! 🥳👍✨👍🥳
On Sunday, November 12, 2023, ABC will air Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) on The Wonderful World of Disney.

My favorite part is at the end, when
My favorite actor Fess Parker suggest the books.
OH MAN, that CBS reads promo at the end takes me WAYYYYY back. It's been years since I've seen that. As soon as I saw it I was five years old again.

Walt's greatest dream was never fulfilled. His idea of EPCOT was a living Levittown of the future with a population of 20,000.
Thanks for sharing

Back when Disney was proud of their legacy and Walt.
Michael Landon was a better athlete than singer... lol... he was a superstar as an actor and he surely is missed
I remember watching Highway to Heaven with my mom! What a great actor and man!
Where is Dean Jones?
Riding in Herbie??
Does anyone know if there's a *1080p* version of this??
...or does Disney actually *sell an official Bluray* of this??
Theres no bluray version of this show. Original copy of this show is in the Disney Studios in Burbank and CBS film files in NYC.
