I love how you were not afraid to cut off those dead ends and love that the client understand that health over length is important. Her hair looked so thick afterwards😍
@@candi1904 You say that as if it's up to the stylist to decide how much to cut off. If the client doesn't want all of her hair chopped off at once, then the stylist has to honor that. She can only do so much.
The color and the cut is on point. But, if it wasn't for your TLC and nourishment that you provided to her hair, the color would still look damaging. You really did a great job!!!!
No more cringing girl! In order for us to have hair to cut we must start with a cut and eventually women of color will not blink an eye when we see 2,3,5 maybe 10 inches cutoff! We can do this together girl! Maybe one day struggling to grow length will be a thing of the past!
@ Roxie solis You are absolutely right! I started taking care of my hair and making sure my ends are in healthy condition! Now I’m a couple of inches from tail bone
I totally agree! I’m dealing with shoulder length damage colored hair and I regret it so much. I didn’t like the color the stylist used anyway so that made matters worse. Never again!
So pretty - yes the length or inches cut does not matter! She trusted you and you did not disappoint! So satisfying when you made that first cut. Why is that so soothing to the soul! You do great work with those shears!
If client asked for cut, then fine. But I had traumatic only 3 inches cut w/o permission when I was young (from chlorine damage). New beautician gave weekly treatments, regrew my hair & never cut more than inch w any damage. Treatments & trims worked for me.
It looks amazing afterwards! Also, for those who are cringing at the amount cut off, one good thing about hair is, is that it grows back. So, just as long as she takes care of it after getting help with it, it’ll be fine.
; The Tongue Of Angels really making sure it’s moisturized and protein treatment. When it gets dry that’s when it especially breaks off! Or even when it’s too clumped together in moisture. You take care of it by knowing the balance between moisturizing it basically just as you would do your normal hair but color needs it more frequently.
No such thing. Chemicals and heat are damaging. After you do this and kill the hair--it’s over, unless you cut it. At best, you can make it LOOK healthy. But that’s it. 🤷🏽♀️
People need to know that healthy hair comes first and then length I have waist length curly hair and I did a lot to achieve that. Trimming on time, having a good regimen and using hair vitamins and drinking a lot of water.
I wish I lived near your salon or to someone similar. I’ve never had any stylist make me feel like they genuinely care about my hair. I rarely go to a salon because it feels like they either don’t know how to handle it or the ones that actually do black hair are always booked up.
It looked amazing at the end. You did indeed make it look good but damn that was so much heat applied. Rollers, blower and wrapping it up for a few hours would have been much healthier. Also, good cut.
Why dont stylists use hot combs anymore? Are flat irons the new trend? Are flat irons safer for the hair? Im ball headed so im really curious. #RealQuestion
My eyes opened so big at 4:30. ... one minute im enjoying the hair color the length the way it look so pleasantly soft and thinking about my own hair appointment i got coming up after not having one since feb24.. and then outta no where i see like 5inches of hair falling to floor 😪
Hate it when folks hold on to dead ends for length. I trim my hair often taking off 2-3 inches at a time and it grows back in now time. I wear my hair wet curly alot so it get dry thats why I trim it so much.
Very beautiful. Job well done sis.... I'm working on coming in to see you myself, I live in Houston and have been looking for a stylist for the longest, and I think I've found one!!!!!
You can clearly see she had braids for several if not a few weeks. So imo it wasn't that bad I've seen worse. It looks like to ne she juat neededba good trim of course with all the other things the stylist did. Also I LOVE the fact that she used a pressing comb. Yasssss!!!!!!
It’s usually not the dyes that cause damage, it’s the level of developer used and above all, bleach. Lightening the hair is one of the fastest ways to damage your hair, especially when it isn’t done properly. Be careful and educate yourself on how best take care of your hair for your specific hair needs and goals. Moisture and protein are the 2 key things colored, over processed hair needs. But also keep in mind that although there’s no such thing as over moisturizing, you can add too much protein aka keratin to the hair. With too much protein, it causes the hair to become brittle and dry and prone to ends snapping.
And although I’m not specialized in ethnic/ Afro centric hair, the same still applies. Semi and Demi perm dyes deposit color only and usually leave a glossy protective finish. It’s perfect for someone who is just getting into color and still wants healthy, shiny looking hair.
@@supreme_aset777 Im a cancer survivor. And it took a while to gain length and thickness. But Im here now. Facially, I can easily pass for 30. But my hair color reflects my true age. (Imagine Danielle Brookes in coloring and stature) Im thinking a deeeep burgundy manic panic?
Very nice cut!!👍🏽 It looks so healthy and it has a lot of movement. I wish it was me. I need a cut bad!! But thanks to Convid-19, I don't know when that will happen?😢
This is why I don't get color anymore...I love color but for some reason I can't keep up with it. Like some ppl can get it and their hair is healthy and stuff...not me. Lol, but you did great!!
Hair grows back especially when taking care of properly. Beautiful results! If you can see the color of my shirt through my hair while down my back..Please cut it that's not cute.

I so love that she was cool with cutting the damage but people want to retain the length despite the damage!!! Beautiful!!
I call that "hair happy". Some girls are just happy to have hair, even if it's damaged.
