    I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I like my G-Force tuners just fine. Some days they are better than others but every day they work... can't find a whole lot to complain about. Especially when it's never ever ever taken me 30 seconds to tune my guitar using them.

    I think most musicians if on the road would likely just tune up the old fashioned way or have their tech do it. It is nice though to see a cheaper option to the Roadie as I think beginners are the most likely to benefit from this kind of tuning assistance tool. The flea-market looked pretty cool! Cheers Andy!

      There are so many tuners out there... clip-on, pedals, mobile apps... and in an array of prices. Learning to tune your guitar is like, the second thing you learn (or teach someone) to do. While I appreciate the work put in these gadgets, it’s all a bit gimmicky (robo tuners included). A solution for a problem nobody asked for...

    I think the best use is as a winder for string changes, but how was tuning accuracy, was any better than the other?

    I never used one personally, but I've never understood the hate for the Gibson robot tuners. These ones are an old model that are giant obviously, but the ones that came out a couple years ago looked pretty much normal size. You could still use then normally if you wanted, and the electronic part was held on by the tuners themselves and could be easily removed without any marks on the guitar right? So why did they get so much hate? It seems extremely convenient and useful, totally out of the way (it was on the back of the headstock of all places), wasn't mandatory, and could be removed easily.... It really seems like it was just one of those innovations that everyone shit on because of the "back in my day" attitude a lot of guitar players have. Am I just crazy, or was there some legitimate problem with them?

    • @hetfield2x4
      @hetfield2x4 3 года назад

      agreed, they do get a lot of hate. I'm a huge fan of these tuners as I've been using them for years. Some of the hate is warranted though; the gears in the tuners are made cheaply or of cheap metal and I have had one gear strip out on me. A learning curve too at first when changing strings and setting up customized tunings, but overall a great system once learned.

    Thanks for the video guys. I sell 3 string guitars at trade fairs, mostly open air in sunlight. I'm looking for a tuner I can read in sunlight, or even better like these auto tuners which I do not even need to see. I have 20 guitars to tune to mostly GDg at the start of each show and then again for a customer to play one. It sounds like you would recommend the Roadie because it would take a preset tuning and keep it.Sentinel Guitars Bozeman MT.

    You can tune a guitar by telepathy with practice, swear ^^ Seriously, if you're a gigging musician, you need a floor based tuner with LED'S, we had various sound crews but never a guitar roadie, apart from Micky Legge who was Dave Hill's roadie but just part of the Sub Zero crew we sometimes hired, cheers Andy, glad everything is on the up for ya mate👍✌

    I think I'd rather use a clip tuner and just do it by hand, it' looks so cumbersome and awkward. If I was gigging I'd use a cable based tuner.

    They call them RoaDIE because they die on you. Mine was junk. It was DOA and they replaced it. That one lasted two weeks! They asked when I bought it and was going to replace it, then stopped responding to me. They never answered me again. It has been three months and I have emailed them over and over. So beware, they break and the tech support people are no where to be found.

    That's kind of dumb, to have a tuner that can only be used with an app. I would NEVER buy it. Everything doesn't have to have a phone APP. What's next? A toilet paper dispenser controlled by an APP? So, if you go to the toilet without your phone, you're sh*t out of luck ?!? 💩🚽🚫🧻
    That's interesting. The fancy expensive tuner was slower than the cheaper one. I have made my decision. I'm going with the Jowoom or the Roadie 3 !!! Thanks.
