The point of the border wall is to slow down illegal immigration which makes it easier for border control agents to do their job, not Stop it entirely. If the wall does stop it entirely that's just a bonus. if Asians and africans can migrate legally so can Mexicans and Central Americans, they're not special just because they share a border with us.

@@truckerraycruz321 I just heard about these things they're developing to beat the wall. The first two are called planes and boats, and allow them to completely and comfortably circumvent the wall, albeit for a cost. The other one is called a tunnel, which allows them to completely circumvent the wall for essentially nothing.
@@smonkwade7543 boats work for Cuba to Florida, not Mexico to the US. Planes don't work, no matter how low they fly trying to evade radar, because the US has multiple radar blimps on the southern border (i.e. "Tethered Aerostat Radar Systems").
The point of a border wall isn't to be impassable. Of course people can climb it or break it down. What it does is provides a convenient location for other detection technologies and creates a delay at that point allowing for border patrol to respond. Also, while it may be easy for a few people to climb, it's substantially harder to drive a truck loaded down with hundreds of kilos of drugs through if there's a wall.
Tunnels can also be prevented with seismic sensors that can "hear" the tunnel being dug. Again, the wall is a convenient point to place such sensors.
That money could have been used to feed and clothe America’s poor and homeless.

What kind of permitting does he need to do that on private land?
In most jurisdictions you need permits and in many cases environmental impact reviews if you’re building a sizable structure because it could negatively impact nearby properties. The fact that the butterfly sanctuary got an injunction is the perfect example of why, because it was going to cause flooding in the sanctuary that would (potentially) destroy the site and reduce the property value.

China can put up a whole new skyscraper in the time it takes for a typical "environmental impact review" here in the US. Those studies can cost millions of dollars, and they normally mean nothing. There's a video floating around on RUclips of some homeowners fighting a property developer that built a massive shopping center or something like that and didn't install proper storm drains, which causes their property to catastrophically flood now. That project passed an "environmental impact review" and the developer still has deep enough pockets that the government officials continue to side with them, rather than the citizens they swore to represent. All that red tape isn't actually about protecting the environment or protecting people's property, it's about lining the pockets of the government and their friends that run companies to do such reviews. It's a corrupt system. That's why the rich keep getting richer, because it's virtually impossible for an average person to even get permits for a project, but the rich have their connections and the money to expedite permitting and get reviews approved even if there are known issues.
